After staying there a few years back we could really tell the new owners love and care about this park. They are working hard to make it a good experience. Easy checkin- fresh eggs in the pretty well stocked "tiny store". They were super friendly and accommodating. The park is mature with beautiful trees, but not a problem for our starlink or "Elon" as we call it. Very close to Bozeman downtown. Saw people walking but Ubers were no problem at all. Yes it is close to the highway and a train, but it really wasn't bothersome. The train comes maybe once a day and not too early. Will stay here every time we are in Bozeman. Also try the Rocking R for football and Wednesday night "bingo" with drink specials. Super fun!! Copper was delicious for dinner and great ambiance. read more

I travelled over 11 hours the day we arrived and they were kind enough to call and check on us and then guide us to our site and get us settled. The campground was very clean and well maintained. The garbages were emptied constantly and the showers were wonderful! It was quiet and exactly what I needed for the 5 nights we were there. There is highway noise and trains but I found that I got used to it after the first night and didn't even notice it after that. The couple that run the campground are very friendly and you can tell that they love it! They put such love into the site from watering the flowers to grooming the sites. The only thing that I would have improved on would have been the wifi. It was spotty at best and mostly non-existent. Overall I would love to stay here again and if I ever find myself in Bozeman again I will be staying here! read more

I heard good things about the RV park but didn't experience it. Our site was positioned next to a person with a Pit Bull tied up with a rope outside (can't believe they let Pit Bulls in the RV park with little kids and other dogs around). The rig on the other side looked like something out of breaking bad and had an eviction notice on it. The Pit Bull was the main concern. read more

I'll start by saying that this campground is noisy. It is sandwiched between a highway and train tracks. However, we were informed of this before paying for a site so we knew what we were getting into. We tent camped and the site was well shaded and had a picnic table. They also provided a place for us to tie up our pup so he could roam a bit. The bathrooms and showers were very clean and they provide free internet. They also have an extensive movie collection in case you have a device to watch them on. The service couldn't have been better! The hosts were friendly and hospitable. They provided maps and information on the surrounding area. We were fortunate enough to camp here on the 4th of July and the campground hosted an ice cream party. It was truly incredible! They had every topping imaginable complete with homemade sauces (chocolate, caramel, & peanut butter) and homemade cookies. Do yourself a favor and camp here if you're passing through! read more

W e were pleasantly pleased by this small Good Sam campground. The rates are decent as are the grounds and facilities. The bathrooms are super clean. Showers clean with nice, hot water. Staff is friendly. Close to downtown Bozeman right off I-90. Yes it's in between the highway and some train tracks. But it didn't affect us at all. Just becomes white noise. And we kinda like the sound of trains. Other campers were nice, friendly and respectful. We would stay here again. read more

In 15yrs rv-ing we have never been treated s poorly.   I don't make a habit of writing bad reviews. Managing RV parks is not an easy thing to do. But inn this case I feel compelled to send out the BUYER BEWARE message! We have stayed at this park twice in the past. Once when it was Sunrise Campground, and once last summer. The owners of Sunrise were FANTASTIC, and the park was a great place to stay. Last year, we could tell there was a different "vibe", but since we were only there one night, it didn't really register. This year we purposely made plans to stay at Bozeman Trails for multiple nights; made reservations last MARCH 2022 for July to be sure we got a spot. We reserved a 50ft pull-thru, full-hook-up site for 3 nights. ( $70/night aint cheap!) We needed to add a night on the front-end of our stay, so we moved spots after one night. I checked with the office the night before we were to move to ask what spot we were moving to. "You are aware that spot doesn't have sewer" they say. I said, "No, we were not aware", and that we had paid for a full-hookup spot. Without actually saying "too damn bad", the message was clear. Apparently, someone had run over the sewer lines 4 WEEKS AGO, and they didn't think it was necessary to alert us. Nor did they think still charging us for full hookups was a problem. I was told that they had a dump station, or, if we needed, they could send a "caddy" to dump our tanks at out spot. Using the dump station was not an option as 1) the area is TINY, and we would have blocked the one road in/out the entire time. Not to mention that we were leaving at 6am in the morning; idling our diesel for 10-15 minutes. I made arrangements to have the caddy come late in the afternoon the day before we were leaving (full tanks by then could be emptied before our EARLY departure). I was assured they would come empty tanks. I went to office early that morning to remind them. I saw "Kenny" late that morning to remind him. I went back to the office 30 mins before closing to ask if Kenny had forgotten us. They would "find Kenny and send him over". By 7:30 (office closed) it was clear they would not be emptying out tanks; tanks which were FULL. There would be no shower for us, and our toilets would not flush (macerator). AGAIN, THE "TOO DAMN BAD" WAS SO OBVIOUS! I was actually told that "Kenny has left the property, and we dont have a phone number for him". "Full hookups" I kept saying, to no avail. Truly, everyone was "sorry", but no one really cared one bit. Long story short, the place is no longer the nice little place with nice people. It's going downhill quickly, and the atmospher is very unwelcoming. Call every day if need be to be sure you are getting what you paid for. Because adjusting your nightly rate for any reason is apparently not something anyone thinks necessary. We won't be staying there ever again, and will pass it on to anyone we see. Sad. Charming and comfortable! We will definitely be back. Perfect location near so much yet just enough space to feel cozy. The staff is genuinely kind and caring. We know why the reviews we read before we booked our stay were so complimentary of the owners...Mary Jo and Marty are two of the most friendly, accommodating and helpful owners we've ever met. The campground/RV park is right off I-90 so super easy to access and only a mile from historic downtown. Close to all major stores too. When reviewing, sometimes it's easier to do a Good and Not So Good list so.... GOOD: wonderful, hospitable owners with an escort to our site. WiFi was reliable and strong. Easy access to town and shopping. Quiet at night. Good distance between coaches. NOT SO GOOD: not much in the way of grass at our site. Some had more. No dog park, but there's plenty of outside grass to take them. Trains run at all times and they blow their horn right near the park....LOUD. Highway noise is constant during the day but at night it really dies out. So, you're right between the highway on one side and the train on the other. In conclusion, we'd stay here again. It was a nice place...friendly and inviting. read more

It was just supposed to be a one night stay, but because of a medical emergency we were there for 4. The staff, especially MaryJo could not have been more carrying or helpful. They helped us get to the ER and made sure I had a my vehicle later. MaryJo checked on us and made us promise to let them know when we arrived home safely. And my puppy thanks her for walking her when we couldn't be there. Other staff members routed our trip home so it would be an easier drive. Can't thank them enough!!! read more

I really hated my time here. I gave 2 stars because the people are nice and the site and facilities are generally well kept. Maybe my problems were largely seasonal, I stayed in mid September. First of all the tent sites are very close to a highway which is busy with big rigs and traffic all night, there is also a train that goes off as it nears. While I was here next door was also construction that had vehicles beeping early in the morning. Sleeping here was rough, I woke up from noise at all hours. The other main issue for me was the bugs. They were on EVERYTHING (pictured), again, maybe a seasonal issue. The tent sites are also under these trees that drop sticky leaves all over the site and leave a sticky residue all over your car and tent. RV camping here is probably much better because it's quieter and not so close to the road. I would recommend, at least in this season, spending a little more and going to the hot springs campground. read more

Came here late at night....We were met by a nice couple. The guy even drove ahead of us to show us where our site was. The facility was clean and well kept. The showers were clean and the bathrooms very clean....The only detraction was the road noise from the freeway...but that is not their fault.... read more

I was on a cross country road trip from NY to Seattle when I found sunrise campground online. The staff are very nice and helpful to someone who is from out of town. They provided good hints, tips and maps. The facilities were extremely clean. Doing laundry was really reasonable compared to other places. I was only going to stay one night at first but decided to stay an extra day to check out Bozeman. The only negative is you can hear the freight train at times, but this is true of all the campgrounds in the area. By the 2nd night I could not hear a thing. If you are looking for a place to stay with water, power, and the fasted wifi I encountered on my entire trip cross country at a good price stop here. I was camping in a 16' Fleetwood Westlake pop up camper. The sites are mostly gravel surrounded by trimmed grass. read more

This is one of the most welcoming RV sites I have ever been too. Mary Jo and Marty were so courteous. They were the best. We needed a place to stay because of pour weather and the Bozeman Hot Springs resort closed three rows of sites and wouldn't accommodate us for two more nights... Late season and arrived to visit our daughter who is attending Montana State. Most places are closed down already but Sunrise was still open. So glad it was. The owners were some of the nicest campground hosts we've met on our trip. The big issue with this place is it's right between two highways and there is a train. It was an issue for us sleeping with earplugs in our VW van with soft sided pop-up. We along with the tent and small camper folks were near the bathrooms which was useful. there was picnic table but not fire ring. The wifi was sporatic sometimes very good, some times completely not working. We had a site with full hookup. read more

We dropped in here on the spur of the moment and it was a very pleasant surprise. The facilities are quite nice here. Bathrooms and laundry were clean and in good working order. The sites are tight - like most commercial RV parks - but the grounds are nice and green (grass and trees). Both the kids playground and the pet area looked inviting. (We had neither kids nor pets during our visit.) Yes, the campground is in-between the freeway and train tracks, but hey, that's what happens when you are conveniently located! Easy access from I-90 for sure. Also it's only about 2 miles from downtown Bozeman. Awesome. But the absolute best part of this place are the owners. They are genuinely friendly and hospitable. What more can I say? It's reflected in everything at the park. They want you to enjoy your stay. If you are looking for a place to stay in your RV in the Bozeman area I can't recommend this enough. read more

Quaint but not quiet. The setting is nice, with plenty of trees. And the folks there are very nice. However, it is located just off the interstate and adjacent to the railroad. Big rig noise and trains traveling through kept a nice sleep at bay. read more

We stayed for two nights without a reservation, they kindly accommodated us. They provided helpful information regarding the Bozeman area and stores and the preferred path to go to Yellowstone pulling a trailer. Very clean, would definitely stay there again! Spent two weeks here in a pop-up with 1 and 3 year old granddaughters while their mommy finished her Masters program at MSU. One of the cleanest campgrounds we've ever stayed at, and Mary Jo and Marty are the most helpful hosts EVER!! They gave us great ideas for entertaining the kids and we're very accommodating and super friendly. The highway noise and the train whistles made for some tough nights for the babies, but the rest of the amenities more than made up for the inconvenience. Traveling in the area with several others. We stayed three nights and the ratings are absolutely spot on. The owners are the onsite and ensure every guest is treated as if they are the most important person staying at the campground. The owners were very upfront about their location and the possible noise. We stayed in this great little campground for 3 days in a small motorhome and loved it. Actually, the train whistle in the middle of the night was kind of quaint, so it wasn't too bothersome at all. We were able to bike into downtown Bozeman and then come back and sit outside our RV and get to know our neighbors. We were placed in the center of the campground, which was perfect because we backed up to the laundry and showers/bathroom facility. We would absolutely stay here again the next time we visit the area. And yes, the owners are very, very friendly and helpful. read more
