His experience and knowledge of the trails, flora and fauna was reassuring and enhancing. Whilst we felt relatively fit 59 year olds, we were a little apprehensive over the challenges of hiking, free camping and staying safe. Frank planned the route perfectly and made sure that we did not "over do it" on any given day whilst posing a suitably satisfying challenge for us to ultimately celebrate and enjoy when in camp at sunset. The campsites were prebooked, private and located in the most perfect riverside settings. The balance of fabulous hand made (by Frank) dehydrated meals, freshly cut vegetables, snacks and perfect hot coffee ensured that we were well satiated. The day one wraps were inspired. The scenery throughout was awesome. Hellroaring and Yellowstone rivers thundered by the trail as we hiked. Spectacular and vast 360 degree views provide lasting memories whilst Frank's "stolen" photos and videos created a permanent memory of our days and as well as a terrific record of a very special and wonderful time. He had all the equipment needed for wildlife viewing and helped to ensure I could see everything through the scopes and binoculars. Throughout the tour he was able to provide education and would always stop when I wanted to take a picture. He provided a wonderful homemade lunch that took my dietary needs in account. We finished the day at Mammoth Hot Springs which was amazing. Spending the day in Yellowstone with Frank helped me to get my bearings and provided information needed for when I went back to Yellowstone without a guide. He is a kind person and I had a great time touring with him! Will definitely book again when I come back in the future and recommend him to anyone!

You can reserve your spot at Recreation.gov and avoid the first come, first serve situation. The campground was clean, had water, bathrooms, lockable food storage, picnic tables, and an on-site attendant (from who you could buy firewood and other essentials, if needed). No electricity here. Make sure to hide your food and carry bear spray since it's their territory. There's a beautiful creek right next to the campgrounds and you can see some mountains not that far away. They offer relaxing rides to enjoy the breathtaking scenery from meadows down to the rivers, or more advanced rides to hells canyon where you can experience rocky terrain and steep inclines. They pair you with your horse for the week so you can really establish a bond. The fly fishing is great! They offer lessons for first timers in their pond which does not require a license or you can head down to the boulder river and enjoy some of the best fishing in the area (license required). They offer other activities such as a Jeep ride, river floating, campfire dinners, and games (volleyball, horseshoes, and roping). There is a hot tub to soak your worries away in your spare time and lots of places to sit to take the beautiful views in. You will not go hungry during your stay here! The food is homemade, fresh and prepared for cowboys and cowgirls! Enjoy meals such as steaks, pastas, potatoes, brisket, full chicken, fresh veggies, seafood, salmon (fresh!), burgers prepared over a campfire, full breakfast spread of pancakes, eggs, bacon, homemade breads, muffin and more. We brought snacks with us that we purchased in big timber and did not touch them once so leave those in big timber and bring your appetite as they do not disappoint! The best part of our stay was the staff. This is a family run operation and it shows by the level of service they provide. I haven't ever experienced something quite like this before. The level of passion, care and concern they have for each one of us was so amazing. They just want each guest to have the best time and live their life to the fullest for the week they are at their property. There are no TVs, radios, cell phones so this is a time to truly disconnect. You can choose to get a phone card which will work in the main lodge for emergencies. The staff for the summer of 2019 hit it out of the park which is why all but two of the families were repeat guests who keep coming year after year. We can't wait to return to Hawley mountain and can't speak highly enough about this magical piece of the world.

this place was awesome!! i wanted to stay longer. we stayed in the aspen room and it was beautiful,…read morehad a good view, and had an awesome bath!! i saw the wolves multiple times from the windows in the basement, the observation deck, and walking around the enclosure! the owners have these cute puppies named luna and sofie. they are allowed to wander in the house mostly, and i loved it. they have a pool table in the basement and a movie place in the basement. you have a tv in your room too. it was pretty glitchy but that's alright because i didn't even know for sure we were getting one or not and since there was the movie place downstairs we were set. also i went for the wolves lol. this place was amazing and i highly recommend it. they just got some new wolf pups too!! thank you so much for the awesome time and memories!!

We found that you could take a short tour (about an hour) of LIvingston on this bus! The tour was so fun, and the driver and docent were fine representatives of open, friendly Livingstonians. The tour is casual and no reservations are needed. Just show up at the Livingston Depot Center at 6:30 pm on a Friday and Saturday night during the summer (this is the current schedule as of Summer 2018: the Main Street light pole signs have the old schedule posted). You get a wonderful sense of Livingston history, from the railroad's building of the town, it's close relationship to Yellowstone National Park, and the early leaders. Not to be missed!

After 5 hours in the ER (I'm OK, just banged up real well) I needed transport back to the park. I'm a solo traveler. I was given the number fur Hurn an Turn. I called, spoke to Jason. He could not help as he was actually at the ER with his Dad. But he called his son Tyler, who actually owns the business, and Tyler was there in 15 minutes. Tyler was a delight for the hour long ride. Polite, a careful driver, made me feel comfortable. If you need transport in Livingston, I highly recommend Hurn and Turn! I greatly appreciate their help getting home after a somewhat traumatic day.

I will start by saying that I am not a big review person, but I have to share my experience. Words…read morecannot begin to describe the experience myself and 3 of my friends had with Black Rhino Ventures. It all began in the fall of last year when we decided to take the trip of a lifetime; an extended weekend of skiing and snowmobiling in the rugged yet beautiful mountains of Bozeman and surrounding areas. Although our trip was not taking place until January, the personal treatment began immediately with interviews and an understanding of our wants and needs. They asked us what gear we had, what our food, wine and liquor preferences were, and what our experience level was. Matt and his team stayed in contact with us at appropriate times prior to our arrival informing us on what to expect, what to bring and what to wear. I knew by the communications leading up to the trip that we were in for the weekend of our lives, but nothing could have prepared me for how over the top the "experience" was. I use the word experience because anyone can take you snowmobiling, skiing, provide food and accommodations, and shuttle you around, but no one can provide the level of service, attention to detail and experience level Black Rhino did. From the unbelievable private chef, professional bartender and luxury accommodations, to the experienced guides, high-end gear and mind blowing locations that took us right to the edge, I can say from experience that very few outfitters or travel companies in the world provide this kind of experience. I won't expand on the whole trip, but I will share one portion of our trip. On one particular day we went snowmobiling which included lunch. It was not just a trail ride in the mountains; it was hard core full on pushing it to the limits. We even had to wear avalanche beacons just in case. [Which came with a full explanation and instructions from the certified mountain rescue Black Rhino team]. After really working us in the deep powder and mountain climbs, we expected to stop for a prepared sandwich and bagged lunch. When we came around the corner where we were to meet Matt, he had dug out a 20'x20' area, set up a shelter with coffee brewing over an open fire and had a grill with hot gourmet chicken quesadillas and home-made tortilla soup. It was over the top and amazing on all levels. It is clear that Matt and his team are not only passionate about what they do but they are also the best at what they do. You have confidence in what you are getting with Black Rhino before your trip ever begins, but it is the special touches and things you aren't expecting that make it a truly unique experience. I am going back for another adventure, but taking my teenage sons with me. When I asked Matt what it would cost, he told me to tell him what we wanted to do and what our budget was and he would create a great trip for them too. That type of services is what separates Black Rhino from the rest. If you are considering a luxury adventure trip, you would be missing something if you don't choose Black Rhino.
