Extras: A photographer was on-site for purchase-worthy snapshots nice touch for those wanting keepsakes, without pushing it too hard. They also provided a complimentary photo if you didn't buy the larger ones. Price: Fairly reasonable. You got ample food, ambiance, and extras without breaking the bank. The buffet is only $25pp. You can add on additional items for around $10. Grits & Eggs: Grits were creamy and well-seasoned; eggs were fluffy, though not overly standout. Greens: Present and fresh, but didn't have that deep, smoky soul-food flavor you hope for. Chicken & french toast: Chicken was seasoned and juicy, French toast was tasty and needed no syrup in my opinion it was already sweet. Sausage & Biscuits: Sausage had decent flavor; biscuits were fluffy. Overall, the food was comfortably decent, but nothing reached "must-come-back" levels. Honestly my experience here was stellar. I had a group of 5 in Houston for my bestie's birthday (March 2024) and we came here for brunch. We knew they had a buffet but when I say we were surprised by everything they had - from fried chicken, fish, waffles, French toast, dessert cups... man. Then we all split a mimosa tower and it was worth it. Our server was real chill and the music was the cherry on top. Upbeat and lively but not irritating. Needless to say that this restaurant was Pat to the brim. Some people we're only able to get standing room only admission. But I booked us a table, maybe a week prior so we can have a brunch there. We did have to purchase a wristband because of this event. When we were finally seated, Our server was Miss Ashley! Ashley singlehandedly saved this review from being bad! Ask all the drama at the door she helped immensely! She was very patient with us.She explained if she was not sure on something she went and got clarification. We got our meals and noted a problem with the order. And she jumped in, went to the kitchen and got us a fresh order to our liking. I've never been anywhere. Where it was absolutely packed with people. But I felt like I had my own personal wait, staff. She kept making sure that we were okay. Making sure we have water making sure we had. The foods are liking brought us drinks and even let us know about some specials that were going on. So we were able to partake in those, and I just appreciate her efforts and hospitality. And if you have the opportunity to have Ashley, then you will be well pleased! For the food we had the chicken and waffles, the chicken book was immaculent. It must have been like a buttermilk. Breading. Cuz, it was crispy crunchy, but still very moist and cook through-and-through period and we had the waffles with the pecan topping amazing 10 out of 10 on those waffles, and I believe my friend grabbed the burger. I've been here a couple of times for events my organization has. This used to be Cabo's back in the day- and if you know that and call ME old, remember, YOU knew it too....lol!! Anyway, the interior is really well set up and clean, you don't feel the need to have hand sanitizer, wet wipes and holy water to move around. There are multiple bars throughout so you can get a drink without a very long line. There are multiple indoor and outdoor areas which is really nice as well. Able to make reservations through open table up until a certain time before they turn into lounge and sections and bottle minimums are required. $15 hookah and $19 oxtail plates is a a steal in the economy okay! Plate comes with greens rice and cornbread. I would say, I could tell they made a big batch and just heated up the plates as they were ordered because my food didn't taste fresh and wasn't warmed properly. I decided to take my husband here for Father's Day brunch, along with other family members. While we were eating, I looked down and saw a roach crawling on the floor near our table. I had already started eating my wings and was completely disgusted. I killed the roach and let our waitress know, asking if someone could come clean it up. What made the situation worse was how it was handled. The waitress didn't apologize or express any concern, she just walked off and told the busboy to sweep it up. After seeing that, I lost my appetite. Because where there's one roach, there are usually more. It wasn't crowded which is great. They sat us at a high top table and we asked for a different table, but they said they were all reserved. Our reservation was a two hour time slot, and in that time most of the other tables were not used. They could've let us sit somewhere else, but I digress. The food was great with the exception of the catfish that tasted under seasoned and swampy. We thoroughly enjoyed the greens, oxtail, potatoes, and all of the breakfast items. This place was formerly Diablo Loco when I visited a year ago. Parking: Restaurant parking lot is right in front of the building. It is $20 valet only, no self parking, & you pay it up front. Atmosphere: There is a dining side & a lounge side where the DJ and/or band is depending on the night. The place is pretty spacious for large crowds. Enough space where you can walk around & talk or dance with each other. I was there on a Friday night celebrating a friend's birthday. We had over 20 people in our group & the place easily accommodated us on the lounge side with their sectional lounge couches & high top long table. We did have reservations which would be needed for a large group to secure seating. Music: Band on this Friday night was quite good playing R&B and the DJ kept things going before the band started & during band breaks. There was never a gap with the music party vibe. Food: They birthday girl ordered large party platters that came with sparklers lit & stuck in the sliders to look festive. The sampler platter tray was nicely laid out with thin french fries on the bottom, chicken wings, pork sliders, & egg rolls. We also had the flatbread pizza and mac & cheese. As I look at the menu, several of our party platter items are not exactly the same as shown on the regular menu. So know if you have a group, you should talk to a manager to work on a platter menu. Their breaded chicken wings came as drumettes only (no flats) & they were huge. Looked like chicken drumsticks! They were well seasoned. Pork slides were dry, wouldn't get those again. I missed tasting the egg rolls but they looked good! The thin flatbread pizza had pepperoni & seasonings and was really tasty with a hint of spiciness. Fried catfish was cooked & seasoned perfectly, it was great. Drinks: Drinks were ok. They seemed watered down. Not sure if that is the norm or if it was because of the large group. I had a side car. My husband had an old fashion. Not sure what they put in it cause it was fizzy (maybe club soda??) but he didn't finish it & just ordered bourbon straight. Misc: The bathrooms are maintained with an attendant. Purses are checked prior to going in. They had a few other large groups celebrating and the staff brought out sparkler rockets and a birthday sign. For our group, they put small sparklers on our food platters . So if you have a celebration with a group make sure you ask about what special touches they can do for you. I really enjoyed the vibe, the music, the food. I would definitely go back. Disgraceful service!!! A friend and I came yesterday evening. I have been multiple times but yesterday it was simply horrible. Floors were nasty and sticky. IT was literally probably 15 people in the establishment which was surprising because Rockhouse posted a reel a few hours prior on social media with a packed house. The bartender was more concerned hanging out at the end of the bar chatting than serving, I ordered a cranberry mimosa carafe. The champagne was stale, old, and flat the mimosa tasted like a dose of nyquil. We ordered 2 appetizers (eggrolls and sticks). Both appetizers were served lukewarm and were horrible. I really didnt expect this quality of service I am not sure if this is a result of change of management since the last time I have been to Rockhouse but there are several improvements that need to be made. I really, really like this place. The food is always a hit for me. I notice that sometimes if you go to places in the area they treat you a little differently if it's all ladies or ladies and guys but I don't get that vibe here. I've gone at least three times (once for a night time event and twice for brunch) and never felt odd with service. The servers have been pleasant and attentive overall. It's also a "gratuity already added" establishment, I want to say it was 20%? Just FYI. Definitely would recommend utilizing the reservations option for the weekend brunch to confirm your seats. I prefer to sit in the main lobby but there is also a section with the live music as well as an outdoor patio (with covering). The main lobby is the best of both worlds because it's indoors and you can hear the live music but not so loud to where you can't hear table conversations. I love going on Sundays for the brunch buffet because there are so many options to choose from and the food tasted even better the second time I went. I would also recommend, if it's a few people in your party, getting the mimosa tower. My favorite combo is the strawberry mango .. so good. The live music is a plus. The parking could be annoying (I believe it's $10 self park, $20 valet or something like that) and the lot tends to fill up pretty quickly when they have events. I liked this place overall. We went for dinner around 8PM but I wasn't expecting a live performance to have already started. So it was pretty loud, even from where we were sitting in the section behind the stage. The drinks were not very good, and overpriced in my opinion. I asked the waitress which cocktails were on the less sweeter side, but she only pointed out two out of maybe 10 or so. I was a little surprised that they didn't have more of a variety. I have visited this establishment a few times for a few events. This was my first time dining. We came for the occasion that was being promoted but it seemed like the actual event wasn't really getting started until much later. I made reservations and we were seated on time. Came here for date night and been wanting to try this place. This is the old Diablo's so I was familiar with the layout. We opted for valet parking which was $20. Upon entering, the main area has tables set up for dining and the second part, in the back, has sofa seating and table seating for reserved sections. There's a bar in the front and back and behind the back bar appears to be a covered outdoor patio. We were lucky and found some seats at the bar where we stayed all night. The bartender was busy and there was a wait for drinks but that was to be expected with how crowded it was that night. I think that's all I needed honestly. The drinks were pretty delicious. Everyone around us seemed to enjoy their drinks as well. The Sunday all you can eat brunch is a cool concept. You get to try a variety of food items. Especially the oxtails which are 10/10. The band is awesome and so is the DJ. I just need them to improve on the service. They had one bartender serving drinks for the entire restaurant. My waiter was behind the bar making drinks with her birthday sash on and didn't even bring my drink or clear our table. Of course there's mandatory gratuity which I despise for one star service and they have the audacity to have a time limit on the tables. If you're going to charge 18% gratuity and set a two hour limit on tables I expect timely service. I don't expect to have to go to the bar to ask for a drink or have multiple dirty plates and cups on my table. This can be a great spot but the service is awful. read more

My favorite place to hang out so far. I've only been in HTX four months and I've been "outside" and this is my fav so far. It's a grown folk spot which I immediately appreciated. The customer service was great from start to finish. We made reservations at 9 on a Thursday but decided to go early just to get the vibe. We got there about 7:30 and the bar had available seats so we took those seats. We had a great server named Haley and she took great care of us. We ordered the oxtail eggrolls and a salad. I would have taken a picture but the smell of deliciousness took over my sense of smell and mind. I could tell the food was freshly prepared. There was this sauce that came with the eggrolls and I honestly could have just licked the plate but I'm a lady. We also had drinks and they were perfectly made. I also loved the prices. We had 2 orders of eggrolls, salad, and many drinks. Even with the restaurant added 20% gratuity, our bill was like $160.
