Wow, just WOW! I couldn't have chosen a better person to build our waterfall than Jeff Colton! We had planned out our yard and had the space for an idea. We waited to make sure we got the best person to do it as it is a pinnacle piece of our back landscape. My wife and I are both artists and when we explained to Jeff what we wanted conceptually in our heads; he was all over it. He has a great vision and is right there to listen and offer suggestions, etc. to make it perfect. He doesn't just put in a cheap waterfall, he designs and builds beautiful pieces of functional art! Now, the product...Again WOW. When it was all done, Jeff got on each rock and jumped up and down to show that they weren't going anywhere. The entire project was in there good and solid. The only negative, if it's even a negative, is that the plants he chose really take a beating in the summer heat. And that's no fault of his as that portion of out yard has no shade and they take a direct hit from the 100 degree+ sun sometimes. We're exploring alternatives... We absolutely love our waterfall and everyone who sees it also comments on it. It's just PERFECT! Next, we are looking to have Jeff put in a Koi Pond for us in our Zen garden. BUYER BEWARE! Jeff with Rockface Waterscapes does not warranty his work. One he is paid he is gone, unless he wants to come back to your house and show another victim/client what he did at your house. Our pond leaked from day one. I informed him of the issue. He refused to correct the issue and had the nerve to call me a liar. He begged for money throughout the project because he didn't have the financial backing for his own products. I HAD TO PAY HIM IN FULL, just not even half way through just so he could finish. Once paid, his presence became less and less. Not consistently showing up on days we were expecting him. And when he did show up it was only for a few hours till he said he had other obligations he had to attend to. Plants took an additional 3 months to arrive because he stated his supplier was not open. My wife and I went to his supplier to go look at plants just days after this statement was made. They were open, he just didn't have the money to buy them since he had been paid in full I remind you 2 months earlier Since completion of our project I had to spend over $5,000 to repair the short comings of Jeff Colton. I would not ever recommend him to anyone! Buyer Beware! You might not get what you pay for. His problems WILL become your problems. Be he will always dispute any wrong doing in his part. Jeff came out to our house same day to clean out a previously existing fountain with pond we had at our house (put in by someone else), turning it into a pondless fountain. Unfortunately it turned out there was a massive pre-existing leak making the fountain inoperable so despite his two days of labor he gave us a large discount at cost to himself. We appreciate his efficiency, business ethic, and skill in working with fountains. Background is that we wanted to convert a waterfall with pond into pondless. The outcome from Rockface was perfect and affordable. He is truly an artist when it comes to designing the features and is very professional to work with. We did not have an easy job to do, but Jeff dealt with all the obstacles like a pro. He and Tanner were prompt and stayed on schedule, courteous to our surrounding neighbors and did an amazing job. We started with just wanting cobblestone removed and moss rock added. We had an existing waterfall that leaked and had two small basins that were full of leafs and mosquitoes. Jeff put in a new waterfall that just turned out gorgeous. He really has a artistic eye. The rock he placed looks like it has always been there. It had been two years since our pond had a professional cleaning. We contacted Jeff Colton of Rockface Waterscapes and asked if he could do the job. Jeff came out the next day to give us an estimate for the job and was out three days later to clean our pond. Jeff is punctual and professional. He showed up when promised and completed the job in the estimated time. He took special care of our koi, some being close to 15 years old. He trimmed our water plants, rearranged rocks and gravel that had shifted over time and thoroughly cleaned the pond surfaces and filters. We could not be more pleased with newly our cleaned pond. Great job on the waterfall stream. Difficult to get a start date, but that's the case with most contractors I've found. Once they started, it was finished. Seem like genuinely good people. There was a LEAK in the fountain where all my backyard flooded and thankfully I had a French drain that took that water out to the street. When I texted Jeff the owner about it, he sent Ethan over the VERY next day to fix it. Funny guys, good music while working. One complaint would be that when I asked jeff how this leak happened only a couple of weeks after installation, he seemed to suggest someone might've stepped on the liner/tarp. Thing is, no one had been out in the heat for days when the leak sprouted. He said "it's fixed, stop worrying." Good point, and what will I do if it leaks after their (only) ONE year warranty? Don't even know how or why it leaked. So don't know how to avoid it in future or if it is even in my control. They did BEAUTIFUL work. I asked for a jungle in the fountain, and jeff put in tons of plants. Almost $4000 poorer now, but at least I have a stream in my urban back yard with flowers blooming and yellow jackets meandering through the "jungle" scaring the sh*t out of me. Wish the workmanship warranty wasn't just for one year, since the fountain sprung a leak on the 2nd weak. Fingers crossed this'll last me for decades... We had a guy from the Auburn home show by the name of BRIAN LOPER (don't remember the company name) re-do our pond in our front yard. The guy had a nice display at the home show and was reasonable, so we went with him. After all of the upselling and BS this guy put us through we finally told him to forget it and leave the jobsite because his work was so bad..We were left with a rock pile and pond that looked like a 3 year old built..We were so unhappy that I debated just filling it in with dirt and forgetting the whole thing. My wife talked me into getting a few more quotes to re-do the pond and I came across Rockface Waterscapes. I read the reviews and contacted Jeff. He listened to my concerns and said he would come by later that day to give me a bid. Jeff called me every step of the way and gave input and insight on how and what we should do, the current problems with the pond, how long it would take to repair and fix ours. All I can say is THE GUY DID AN AWESOME JOB ! We are very happy with the waterfall and his workmanship that I would refer him to anyone I talked to about ponds or waterfalls.
