The people that I assume own the place were the nicest people we have ever felt with at a campground. It is small and only has water and electric sites but it was clean, quite, and very relaxing. There is a small swimming beach but the lakes are great for fishing. Nice little playground and putt putt course. It's definitely not like the big KOAs or Yogi bear parks but very nice mom and pop type.

This campground was a disappointment. The first thing I had to do upon arriving was to scoop large…read morepiles of dog poop from the two sites our party had rented. The reason we chose this campground was because we wanted to try a new river to canoe and kayak. The sites were not clearly marked but are rather large (about the only positive thing about the weekend). We did enjoy the time in the river and the excellent weather. The reasons for the low rating are: the bathhouse was never cleaned during the time we were there; the flies were swarming; and no attempt was made to enforce the quiet hours that were posted on the policies sheet we received upon check in. Not only did campers continue their racous behavior well after after midnight; the camp sponsored karaoke dance on Saturday competed with the music blasting from serval camp sites. We have camped in rustic and modern camp grounds and have rarely been this disappojnted. We will not return, nor will we recommend this place.

We have been seasonal guests for 2 seasons. The place has gone downhill a great deal from the 2024…read moreseason to the 2025 season. Staff doesn't seem to last a full season. This season the mowing was inconsistent, the pool not cleaned and maintained and the rest rooms and showers not cleaned and properly stocked. There is an unfinished lodge that hasn't changed in 2 years. There are no park scheduled activities. The WiFi is not dependable. The only other amenity is a pickle ball court. Our total cost for 2025 season was $7350. With the additional charges being added for the 2026 season, we would be charged $8550 for the exact same site. Considering the lack of amenities and consistent maintenance, we just don't feel the value justifies the extreme cost.

Paid 90.$ a night and did not have proper working electricity, on day two the electric faulted and completely shut down while we were out. We had to move to another site at 10pm, very difficult as we did not have power to put slide outs in. This is a want to be premier RV park, but will not get there with this kind of service. Manager didn't care or apologize or offer refund and knew about the faulty electric before our arrival as was told to us by maintenance worker. An all around very bad experience that I would not want anyone else to encounter. Photo of standoffish manager.

The park is under some construction through September which is a bummer but from what they've dug…read moreup, it looks like there will be some great improvements. The ball field will go away but they're putting in new playground equipment, new pavilion, new basketball courts and updated restrooms. In the meanwhile, the parking lot is still there, the river is still there (note the warning about eating the fish) and it's a nice, peaceful spot. [Review 11208 overall, 984 of 2019.]

This is our go-to putting-in point for kayaking to Arcadia Ales (it's round about an hour's paddle…read more-- longer if you're feeling leisurely and faster if you're going for a big workout). Plenty of parking, tons of covered picnic area. We staged about 75 kayaks/paddleboards/canoes there for a recent Kanoe the Kazoo event and it didn't feel too crowded on the riverbank, which was awesome. However, you've got to be pretty strategic about how you put in (fortunately we had seasoned paddlers leading our group who gave good advice about how to put in, but those who tried to enter the river closer to the woods/fence/parking lot got caught up in some wicked current. Be sure to put in farther out toward the picnic structure and park and paddle across the river then let the current drift you across the mini-rapids. Don't forget -- it's unsafe to eat the fish from the Kalamazoo River. We saw tons of people fishing on our recent excursion and really worried about their health. A few people were sad to see a small tent city on the river's edge -- personally it made me happy that some of the homeless had found a more pleasant haven than the city parks. Just a matter of perspective, I suppose. One of the "tent cities" was also a group of 5 matching, new-looking tents so I suspect that group was a group of people kayak-camping.
