Wow this place- Eloise- we finally got to check it out. I'm glad we went for the haunted houses!!…read moreIt was amazing- they were the longest and coolest ones I've ever walked through. They utilized the hospital in most of the attraction, which made the whole experience even more creepy! I went for a private event, but it opened this weekend. I recommend everyone to go check out this historical site. So much has happened here in the past, you can feel the grounds energy as you pull into the parking lot. Looking up at those old windows, you can just feel someone or something peering from one! Go check out Eloise Asylum! The best haunted attraction in the state of Michigan!

Just when you exit the building you think your done but you down to the basement of the building and it was just as long as the first floor was. Definitely worth the money you spend. Also waiting in line for the second half there were people dressed in costume trying to scare you. But you can get them to do a selfie. I do think the exit out the back way needs to be lit up more and more direction as how to exit once you're out of the parking lot. I went there for an "Elite" yelp event which also had food and drinks. You also saw a lot of characters in the main area in which had no issue. It was a great event! Hope you like it too. There were many local businesses'.

Abbey Dodge was one of the first women to graduate from college in the USA. The home has lovely furnishings but not much description, even though I got a brochure on it, some displays had no info. There are two old sewing machines upstairs. The plaques on them say who donated them but not what year they were or anything. I just can't abide by that piece of missing history People need timelines. Also, again, no postcards. Your business needs to sell postcards. Make revenue to help restore the home. Anyway, I did enjoy walking through the home. Upstairs is a 1860s organ. When it was found in a barn damaged, they found a cannonball in it from the civil war. The organ was completely restored and is upstairs in the game room at the Turner Dodge House. A nice quick visit, enjoy...

Located in Lake Orion, it's not as far of a drive as Bronners. But has some of the same great qualities. They have a Christmas shop that is enormous. You can buy trees or anything you want here. They have a huge assortment of different themed ornaments. So you can find that perfect gift for just about anyone. They have a really cool old fashioned carousel. My son used to love to ride on this when he was little. They have a quilt shop and a clock repair shop. They have a shop that sells yates cider mills products. Mmm. My favorites? They have a Dept 56 shop. Its huge and features everything you can imagine. It's heaven for collectors. They even have items that are discontinued. The king's Court Castle is really nice for wedding venues. But we come simply for the C pub. Its a Scottish pub with authentic food and delicious beer. They have food truck features at Canterbury and other cool themed things. We have come for a hogwarts express theme. I love Harry Potter. Like I am kind of obsessed. So this was one of my favorite things ever. This is a place that is fun for the whole family. But honestly, I don't mind coming alone either haha.

I spoke to a park employee when I was there and still wasn't able to get a straight answer. I did find out that if you want to set up a program for kids where they learn about pioneer life, including churning their own butter, then you have to make arrangements ahead of time, and that makes sense. It seems you can wander the grounds and look at the barn and the gardens and the outside of the various buildings from dawn to dusk in good weather. I'm still not clear on whether the museum has regular hours or if you have to call ahead to arrange a tour, though. The nice park employee I spoke to, though, did give me a full tour of one of the auxiliary buildings, between the museum and the barn. They have a really nice hall here that's often rented for weddings and wedding receptions, and they have a whole album of photos you can look at to see people who have used it before. The reception hall is up a flight of stairs, but they have an elevator for handicapped access. I loved this place and plan to go back to explore some more. I may have to borrow a friend's kid for a day and take him or her to one of the programs because they sound like a lot of fun.

This is another fantastic MUST SEE Frank Lloyd Wright home…read more After seeing this one, my fiance and I have decided that we will try our very best to go and tour all of Frank's houses. When you pull up to this house, there is a neighborhood that is built around it. Everything preserved though that is on the property, so no need to worry. Sadly, it was raining when we went, but we still were able to have a great experience. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and went quite in depth for each part of the house. I think the tour was about an hour or so. These types of houses are very interesting because while you are being told about how the room was built, how it was used or something else related to Frank or the house, you can truly picture yourself as a member of the family that lived in the house. The tour is so great I'd do it again! Photos attached are from online. No phones allowed so I left mine in the car. Only posting pictures from the outside. See for yourself for the inside!

Our guides were Harvey and Steve, who took us through every part of the house and answered all of our questions. Steve was a patient and knowledgeable guide, and Harvey provided a wealth of stories and anecdotes that added to our appreciation of the house. As an early Wright Usonian, Affleck is well worth a visit, especially in understanding how these houses and plans evolved over time.
