Astro Burger w/ angus beef patty, bacon, cheddar, fried eggplant, mayo, astro + tonkatsu sauce | $14.99
    Cherylynn N.

4.5 STARS Me *contemplating* how I'm going to fit this Astro Burger in my mouth is like me *contemplating* what the hell I'm going to do with the rest of my life. IDK but let's dive right into it, face first. Or, at least attempt to without ruining the burger by giving it CPR. More on that later... Rocket Burger Station opened in late February 2024, shared space with Vons Chicken. They're open for takeout, delivery, indoor dining, and outdoor dining. Not sure why they merged listings with Vons but the reviews prior to February 2024 are for Vons, not Rocket Burger Station. O R D E R I N G Contactless ordering via two kiosks but you can also order with the cashier. If you're going to make a lot customizations, order with the cashier since not all options are shown on the kiosk. After ordering and paying, staff will deliver your food to you. M E N U Korean-Japanese fusion burgers. Burgers start at $8.99. And, you can BYOB or customize one to your liking (e.g. extra patty, sub cheeses, add bacon/avo/fried egg, beef temp). --PROTEIN: 5.33 oz angus patty, impossible patty, or fried chicken breast --CHEESE: American, cheddar, mozzarella, provolone, or swiss --TEMP: Rare, medium rare, medium, or well-done Lettuce wrap available. You can also order Vons chicken. For drinks, there's shakes and fountain sodas. Self-serve water available. F O O D I'm aware of the TikTok drama but unfortunately, I can't get to Oakland to try the original one. * The Astro Burger w/ cheddar, bacon, fried eggplant, lettuce, tomato, red onion, mayo, astro sauce, tonkatsu sauce ($14.99) // 4.5 stars: https://tinyurl.com/3hfte4mc --Requested medium rare One of the rare occasions where reality met expectations, and the actual burger looked like the menu pic. The STACKED burger was composed of a grilled beef patty, two layers of panko fried eggplant, tomato, red onion, and green leaf lettuce...between a sesame studded toasted bun that held its shape. I had to remove two layers (layer of eggplant + tomato) to get the burger to fit in my mouth. The beef patty was tender and beefy with a good smoky char flavor. Cooked medium but at least it wasn't well done. As someone that puts fries in their burger, I enjoyed the crunch from the fried eggplant. It may not be for everyone but the mayo or one of their sauces, I think it's cut with condensed milk which adds a delicious sweetness to contrast the saltiness of the bacon and tang of the tonkatsu sauce. Condensed milk works in K toasts/drop egg sandwiches so why not a burger? The result was a gut-busting, delicious burger with good flavors and textures. While it wasn't a greasy burger, I couldn't finish it. Bring a hooman vacuum to dine with you. (Please note: Since my visit about 6 weeks ago, they've discontinued the Astro Burger but you can BYOB with the same ingredients to match the it). * Earth Burger w/ lettuce, tomato, red onion, thousand island sauce ($8.99) // 4 stars --Requested medium rare --Add extra patty (+$5.99) --Add bacon (+$2.49) --Add avocado (+$1.99) Not my burger but my friend inhaled it and said it was "good". * Fries ($4.99) // 4 stars Hot, golden brown, and lightly seasoned. S E R V I C E Cordial and prompt. Visited around opening time (weekend lunch) with a handful of customers dining in. Placed our order at the kiosk and our food was delivered to us in about 10 minutes. A M B I A N C E Casual and modern with 6-7 tables inside and 5 tables outside. P A R K I N G Parking can be difficult in the plaza (Mitsuwa) during peak times. Overall, I usually don't gravitate towards American cuisine or burgers when dining in the South Bay, but Rocket Burger Station is bringing something different with their Korean-Japanese twist to the classic American burger. Always a plus when there's dog-friendly outdoor seating!

Ordered the bulgogi burger on Sunday around 1pm, total came out to around $15. Wasn't very busy and it took about 10 mins for the order to be ready. Bathroom is clean and environment overall clean, outdoor seating available. For the price it is on the expensive end but overall a very good and satisfying burger.

The place I wanted to go to for lunch was closed so I decided to try this spot. I love burgers! The store is small, there is seating inside and outside. There are tablets you can order from by the entrance. I decided to get the Crispy Onion Bacon Burger. This burger was massive. The onion rings itself was hard to bite into. It was good though! The onion rings were very crispy as the name says, and the angus patty was flavorful. Its 13.99 but for around 15 ish dollars before tip, this burger is a pretty good value. I maybe waited around 10 minutes or so for my burger and there weren't that many customers in the store. They were out of ketchup in their dispensers so unfortunately I couldn't load up on ketchup but i'm sure it would've tasted even better with more ketchup!

Was taking a stroll around the area and on a whim decided to try Rocket Burger Station. It's sort of off in the corner of the Japanese shopping center with Mitsuwa. To be honest, I had little expectations, but I sort of just wanted a (hopefully) decent burger. Wow, Rocket Burger did not disappoint. It was definitely better than just decent. The ingredients seemed fresh, especially the meat, and the whole thing had a very indulgent and savory flavor. Fries were on point too! Kind of an interesting place for a burger joint but next time I'm in the mood for a good burger this will be on my mind.

Whoa Korea fried chicken and a burger place all in one!!!??! Ok this used to be Vons chicken, but now they added burgers and changed the name. Crispy Bacon Onion burger was really good and filled with onion rings 8.8/10!! The fried chicken were fried really well, but I wasn't a huge fan of the flavor I chose (it was on the sweeter side), but that was my own fault 8/10. I'm definitely coming back!

Rocket Burger Station is a Korean fusion burger joint located in the same plaza as Mitsuwa. It actually used to be a Vons, but they added the burgers to their menu; if you want Vons, it's still on the menu! I was doing some grocery shopping and I saw this, so I decided to give it a try. FOOD Rocket Burger Station offers both burgers and Von's Fried Chicken. However, I'm here for the fusion burger, so I ordered a Rocket Burger Meal and got the Bulgogi burger. Lots of bulgogi flavor in the burger; it's both sweet and savory. Tastes exactly just like it sounds as you are eating a bunch of bulgogi stacked inside a burger. Size-wise, it's about an average sized burger, not giant, but not too small. Big fan of the flavors in this burger and they aren't doing too much either. It's a burger, except it swapped out the burger patty with a stack of bulgogi. I've also tried their Crunch burger which was also pretty delicious, but it was quite tall so it's a bit troublesome to eat. Fries were only seasoned with salt. A bit crispy and overall nothing good or bad about them. SERVICE You can either order at the kiosk or at the counter. I did't actually see the Burger Meal option on the kiosks both times I was here, so if you want to do that, order at the counter. They will call out your order once it's ready. Self bus your table. Utensils and ketchup have their own self-serve station. Rocket Burger Station seems to be a family-owned business. Service is okay, sometimes you might have to wait a bit if you order at the counter. It took me about 5-10 minutes from ordering to get my food. COST The Rocket Burger Meal is just shy of $20 before tax and tip. It is a bit on the pricey side, but I think there's enough of a novelty here to justify the price. If the burger were bit a larger, then I think it'd be a reasonable deal. Otherwise, if you are in the mood for a Korean-style burger, the mark-up is justified. SETTING The restaurant itself isn't too large, maybe 5-10 tables. They do have some outdoor seating available as well. Great place to hang out with friends or grab a bite to eat before or after your grocery shopping. Large parking lot, since it's in Mitsuwa plaza, but it can still get quite packed, especially on weekends. If parking is a concern, I recommend going on a weekday. Overall, this is a delicious fusion burger. There's a bit of a mark-up, but I think it's not too bad. Definitely give it a try if you are ever in the area. 4/5

Had the pleasure of redeeming two free burgers from a recent Instagram giveaway by Rocket Burger. We ordered three burgers in total. The burgers we ordered were the bulgogi burger, classic burger (meal), and the astro burger. Additionally we ordered onion rings. The burgers were made fairly fast and were pretty huge. All the burgers tasted good and filled us up.

We were originally trying to go to Fugetsu to get some lunch, but as we were at the intersection, this place caught my eye, so we decided to give it a try. I tried the Crunch Pluto Burger and my coworker tried the Cheeseburger. We also got a Vanilla Shake to share! Prices were a bit on the higher side, but the size of the burgers were pretty huge and the quality of ingredients looked/tasted very fresh. They had several types of korean fusion burgers -- the one I got had a croquette within the burger! It was tasty and needless to say, VERY filling.

I love burgers so I was excited to try this place out! They have such a wide variety of different kinds of burgers. I was especially intrigued by their asian style burgers. This place is also a Vons chicken which is the best korean chicken franchise in the area in my opinion! They have combo meals so that you can get burgers and korean fried chicken in the same meal which is nice. They have plenty of seating, clean, and the workers were friendly. I ordered the bulgogi burger, the crunch pluto burger, and the honey butter fries. The bulgogi burger was pretty good. The bulgogi was a bit tough but it had a lot of flavor and sauce. The crunch pluto burger was also pretty good but the croquette tasted like pickles which I was not a fan of. The honey butter fries are 10/10 a must try. The sweet and salty is perfection. Overall had a decent experience but it is pretty expensive and I am not sure if I would crave it.

After hearing about this place from my ex girlfriend, I thought I check it out. Unfortunately when I got here, the disappointment came in. The price here is very outrageous. I am not paying $25 just for a wimpy korean burger because I don't have time for prices like that. It seems like a total joke to me. When I got here there was like no one sitting inside or outside the joint. That is a red flag there but I see no idea why people still like this place. I left the place without ordering anything which is upsetting. Being broke and mentally challenged this is not the place for a person like me. I won't come here again even if my therapist ordered me to. I am not even sure if this place will be here for a long time because I have many expensive restaurants leave the neighborhood

Be ready to spend anywhere between $25-30 for a burger, fries and soda. Came to try the bulgogi burger since I've never had something like that before, but surprisingly it was just okay. Service was eh, as there was a table of "influencers" next to us so they were be taken care of at a different level. Space is cute, quaint and clean. 'Okay' experience and food.

Lovely sweet special memu I haven't ever had. Hidden Astro burger is really good. I don't know why it all of sudden changed. Bulgogi burger has fried eggs OMG, incomparable Korean style burger that I and my hubby love to eat every time. I don't know how the fries tastes so good. If I am full, I just take only french fries. I normally go to Habit my big favorite place though this is just small burger shop and have an amazing new style burger. They have new combo menu with chickens that I took with my friends. ha.. so good... Please take that menu at the store then you would feel heavenly taste with blue sky.

This was my first time at this location and I ordered to go. The staff were very friendly and easy to communicate to. The location is quite convenient; it's located in a big plaza, so there's a lot of parking available! The inside was quite nice as well! It was very spacious and clean :) I ordered a half order of the crispy fried chicken and the tteokbokki. I LOVE von's crispy fried chicken over their other flavors, bc it's not super overpowering, but still flavorful. The chicken was a good size and super crispy still. It was nice and juicy and well fried. Von's rice cakes are prob my favorite!! Idk what they do but it's a bit crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. The sauce is sweet and spicy with a bit of tangy to it. If you havent, I'd definitely recommend their rice cakes!! I'll definitely be coming to this location more often and would recommend! :)

The reason why I came over here fairly recently was because I visited cousins and cousin in law that live near to give them Valkyries shirts and other shirts they'll send to the Philippines in over a month, and since they plan to be sending clothes over while telling me about the place, I gave them my Kate Martin and Kaitlyn Chen jerseys for the trouble as I needed to make room for my Veronica Burton jersey, which I wore when I met up with them, and my upcoming violet Gabby Williams one. (Go Valks!) The noteworthy parts the place has are the real good amount of banchan dishes, bibimbap and the short rib, the spicy one in particular. While I probably will not visit the place again anytime soon, at least I can keep this place in mind if I want Korean food without driving to Santa Clara. There's plenty of parking behind the spot. As you come in, the place looks simple, but it works. You have the adorable ajumma/ajumni to take your order. The stuff I ordered. I had water, banana milk and kimchi fried rice. Since I was the only one that had more than 1 drink, I told my cousins and cousin in law the banana milk, and they did bring up how on occasion, you see the drink in K-dramas. Of course, we laughed on how my parents never got into K-dramas and while I'm at it, Filipino dramas. Oh well. Oh, there's no doubt the food is good, and the place is too legit (to quit) as I did hear Korean from a different table. As I typed up, there are plenty of banchan dishes. Not Los Angeles amount of banchan dishes, but there are plenty of banchan dishes never the less. The kimchi fried rice dish may be simple, but it does give off that homey feel. Can't forget how Big actually is affordable, the big reason why my cousins and cousin in law like the place so much. The reason why the place doesn't get a perfect score. The place would have received a perfect score if, the major matter I remember here, the place has mul naengmyun (my favorite Korean dish). Originally, I wanted Japanese ramen before my cousins mentioned this place, and I was ready to pivot to having mul naengmyun, but I was told that the place doesn't carry the noodle dish. (Being a very good and logical dish to eat for at the very least half of the year in a city like here San Jose is the reason why of all of the Korean dishes, I like mul naengmyun the most.) There probably is one or two minor flaws I already forgot, but the lack of mul naengmyun is the dead on reason why I don't give the place a perfect score. On a side note, it's nice that I told the group what banana milk and mul naengmyun are, and by doing so, they learn something new regarding eating at Korean spots just in case. BigSpoon is a good spot. While it may not be as iconic as the places in Santa Clara, it is a good spot never the less. It does a good job at being a Korean spot for an area that is more so known for Mexican food. If you live on the east side, head on over here because the place should get your attention. +/BigSpoon is brilliant and spiffy because it has a terrific combination of good simple food, affordability and wonderful service. -/If only the place also has mul naengmyun.

As a fellow Korean, let me give you some advice. Wait a few minutes and let the rice cook more because the stone bowl is still hot. lift up the bottom until you see crunchy bits and then you could start mixing. Excellent mix of seasoned vegetables and rice. They give you the gochujang bottle sauce on the side. you can adjust it to your level. Soon Tofu Soup 5/5. I've had a lot of tofu soup of what I like about this one is that it had a good balance of tofu, kimchi was not super sour like some restaurants and they give you an egg on the side. Very clean finish. Banchan 5/5: The highlight for me was the banchan. I went with a very picky eater friend and she really loved the kimchi ,the cucumber kimchi ,the fish cakes, japchae. They put a lot of effort into making the banchan - which I recognize right away. They also fill up if you run out and the dishes are larger than normal restaurants. Amazing. You read my mind. Interior 4/5: It is a smaller, more intimate seating.( about 25-30 people) . It still has the vibes of of a Korean eatery with K-pop music playing on the TV screen, wooden benches and chairs. Plenty of tofu and a generous amount of beef. I also loved all the sides they included along with a bowl of rice. Every side dish was delicious, but the kimchi especially stood out. Honestly some of the best kimchi I've had in a long time. The portion was enough for both my daughter and I to share, though that's probably because we're both sick and couldn't eat too much. However, we were able to order our food ahead of time. The atmosphere of the restaurant was bustling and noisy, a super fun and casual spot. Our dishes arrived minutes after we sat down, which was impressive. There was also a variety of delicious side dishes, with various types of kimchi. The nine of us split two braised beef short rib dishes - and we were struggling to finish it all. The portion size is massive, which makes sense since it's a pretty penny. The meat was so tender, literally falling off the bone. There were a ton of potatoes, daikon, rice cake, and carrots as well. The entire dish was savory and delicious, pairing perfectly with rice. You can also specify your spice level. The medium spice was a fair amount of spice but not overpowering. I highly recommend getting the cheese on top, it provides a creamy contrast to the sharp flavors of the meat. I'm still thinking about the braised beef short rib - it was just that delicious!

The short ribs were incredibly tender, practically falling off the bone, and the sauce was rich, savory, and deeply flavorful. The melted cheese on top added a creamy, indulgent layer that made the dish even more satisfying. The banchan that came with the meal were delightful and well-prepared, offering a nice variety of flavors that complemented the main dish perfectly. Service was great--friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout the meal. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, but it adds to the cozy and intimate dining atmosphere.

I ordered the bibimbap pork rice. When it was brought to me, the waitress told me they were out of the sauce so it was very bland. Also to know they were sold out of seafood, squid, and bulgogi bibimbap. Half of the menu items were not available. There were also only 2 Bachan dishes. Kimchi and broccoli. Very disappointed.

The first two times were great -- they served a wide variety of banchan and the seafood tofu soup was packed with fresh shrimp, clams, octopus, mussels, and squid. My daughter also loved the galbijjim. On our third visit, we arrived right at 5 PM and were told they would open shortly because the cook was on lunch. We waited until 5:20 and they still weren't serving, so we ended up leaving. Our most recent visit was the last straw. They only offered two types of banchan (not even kimchi), and they were out of all dishes that included meat or beef. It was surprising for a Korean restaurant to not have Korean BBQ or short ribs available. My seafood tofu soup barely had any seafood, and I had to point out to the waiter that there was no shrimp at all. He later returned with a cheap frozen seafood mix and said they use a seafood mix, which was disappointing considering the higher quality seafood they used to serve (including head-on shrimp). They also did not serve the usual purple rice this time -- instead we were given dry white rice that seemed reheated. There was only one server handling all the tables and cleaning, so service was slow. It's disappointing because the quality used to be much better. Based on our recent experiences, we will not be returning anytime soon.

We were just looking for some quick bites, so we ordered a seafood pancake and meat jun to share. Both of these were very generous portions. The seafood pancake had a nice light crisp, and was full of seafood and green onion, while the meat jun game on a bed of fresh cabbage and was full of tender, sweet and flavorful bulgolgi. We really enjoyed both with the banchan! Danbi has some great offerings, and I'll definitely try to come again to try some of the entrees and other things when I'm in the area and looking for a full meal!

This restaurant was filling up but it really only seemed like 3 or so employees, one waiting tables, one by the counter, and another in the kitchen. Looks like a family run business that could probably use some more hands! We ordered Yookdaejang: Good! I have no complaints about this one. Galbitang: Didn't try any but my wife said it was kind of bland. We went to Kunjip the week before and didn't get to order this, so we were really craving it. It's very good at Kunjip. I was debating just doing a seafood pancake instead. I saw a bunch of other tables have it and it looked thick and crispy. For both soups, it was too much for us so we took them both home and ate it for dinner the following day. Added more noodles to it too, so value wise it kinda worked out. The banchan was good. They ran out of fish cake but I loved the kimchi! Pretty solid for good korean food with no wait - the only wait really was the lack of employees, but sitting and ordering was quick enough.
