If you are looking to have ANY kind of landscaping done then look no further. David is the man! He knows plants & landscaping better than anyone I've met. We have small kids and two dogs so he automatically made sure there were no poisonous plants in the proposal (like sago palms which are everywhere out at the beach). They charge a $100 fee to come out and develop plans but it gets credited towards your account. I felt like David did exactly what we wanted and came up with ideas that we liked even more. We had palm trees placed, flower beds, mulch, slate pavers & planters put in, granite gravel placed and re-sodded our entire front and backyard and get this.... they did it in 1 DAY. I love Rockaway. It's super cute, affordable, and has a huge variety of plants to chose from. All of the staff is warm, welcoming, and super helpful. I came here one afternoon looking to find some good indoor plants and had at least three works give me good suggestions. Every time I need some plant inspiration I come to Rockaway. Every plant i have purchased as lasted, and all of their plants are in perfect or almost perfect conditions. Best selection of herbs, vegetables, and succulents that I have seen so far. The staff is not as helpful or friendly as the Trad's staff but plenty helpful enough. The plants themselves are in excellent shape. They also have a Christmas tree farm so if you are into Christmas trees, preorder yours now. They currently have an section for Pumpkins and such for Halloween. This garden center is quite far from my residential area but I would drive up here for their live products. read more

I am in love with this local Jax beach nursery! I've started getting my Christmas tree here and everyone here is so friendly and helpful! The trees are great quality too! You can also find a vibrant Pointsettia plant in the greenhouse. Sometimes, they have a small table with mimosas and hot chocolate set up around the plants! We had a tree fall in our yard and we also had a long vacation and the yard was a mess this spring. We called Trad's and they gave us a fair estimate and we scheduled. We were surprised to find an old friend, Rory, was their employee and maintained our yard. In a few short months our yard has done a complete transformation. Used this nursery before and they did pretty good but then NEVER would follow up even after phone messages and emails. Disappointed

I am incredibly frustrated by my experience with Rockaway. We initially tried to use them for an onsite landscaping design back in April of this year. We were told they would have it to us within a week. About 2-1/2 weeks later we received a design that we were not happy with. We were then told they would get back to us with a new design.. but they never did. Needless to say, we went elsewhere. A couple months later we decided to give them another try and ordered a few plants through Rockaway. They "forgot" to put our order in 2 weeks in a row. And now, the third week into our order they were unable to fit our delivery (that we paid for) onto their truck, and it will be another week until we finally get our plants... Just in time for winter. I might not be so upset had they handled their mistakes with more consideration. But we have received no offer of apology. Seems to me, if you're not spending more than $3,000, Rockaway couldn't care less about you. read more
