Their ordering system is ridiculous. I ordered three parts and needed them fast. When you go to checkout, you select shipping by date only. So I selected next day business shipping. When I saw only half my items were coming next day, I emailed to ask what is going on. They said that shipping is actually by part and I only selected express for the half of my parts. However, this is completely misleading because there is no way to select shipping for each part, only by date. Why would I think I selected express shipping for only one part when there is only one option for all three parts in the first place? Let me post this review from my ACTUAL YELP ACCOUNT so you know it's legit... & not through google general account... Ive been shopping for car parts on RA.com for well over 10 years and have NEVER had an issue with ANY items or orders placed until last week. I ordered 2 sets of rotors and brake pads - front+rear set for my 2018 Ford Fiesta ST. My order was shipped in 2 orders; 2 different warehouses. Long story short, I did not receive the rear brake pads in either package so went on RA.com to file a report for replacement/refund. I was UNABLE to get a replacement as an option because they are OUT OF STOCK on RA.com so chose to get a refund for the missing parts in the rear pad/rotor kit which was $103.xx. RA does all customer service via e-mail so you cannot speak directly with anyone which is unfortunate because speaking directly with someone can easily clear up confusion with order issues etc. I was given a refund, a fraction of the total cost of the brake pad kit in the amount of $12.xx and the kit cost $103. I was told if I returned the rotors, I would receive the remaining amount of the kit. Sure no problem i thought but the problem is that I took the rotors out of the original boxes in anticipation of receiving the rear pads in the 2nd package & they do NOT accept returns without original packaging so I am screwed out of a set of rear brake pads and now just Ordered a 2nd set of pads only because the rotors are useless without brake pads... So I just spent an extra $73 after taxes and shipping for a set of rear brake pads for my car by placing a new order. I did this to prove that I NEVER received the pads and I need them and it may be my last order from RA for a long time, we will see if this order arrives correct. Im a bit frustrated with this buying experience if im being honest and now will question if buying from here is the best option considering how conflict resolution was presented to me after this last purchase As others mentioned in their reviews, your email questions are not all answered when you contact them for help. The starter case said Delco, but also had MARINE stamped on the casing. Went on website to try to get an exchange, but after answering a lot of questions, they said the part was used because it had signs of being installed. How do I know if a parts fits if I don't try to install it? No customer service, no 800 number to call, and no way to contact them on their website. Lost all my money. I was a ten plus year customer and ordered a catalytic converter. The issue was not the fault of Rockauto because the manufacturer did not list specifics needed to ensure proper fit. However, how they handled it just cost them a customer. First, because i used a pay later option i was advised to return the part which i did and then await Rock Auto to refund me. Its because i did this process through the merchant that RockAuto decided i either deal with them directly or they won't refund me. This is through at least 40 orders over multiple vehicles. My most recent order was for a number of high-quality closeout parts. They were about 25% of the cost of buying the identical part at my local auto parts store. Returns have not been an issue for me which have included some expensive and large parts like strut assemblies. The website looks straight out of 1998. But it works and it's easy to find what I need. It's faster than most other sites to find what I need. I know when I shop here that I'm getting the best price or very close to it. Any comparisons I've done have proven this. read more

I returned the incorrect one using their automated system which was pretty easy except that in order to ship the return I have to drive to the other side of town in heavy traffic to the FedEx store. Got the replacement in only two days. WRONG AGAIN Deja vu right side caliper in a box marked with a left side part number. Forget it. I'll get a refund and buy elsewhere. Now I'm making a second trip across town and still don't have the part I need. At California gas prices I've already eaten up any potential savings. No trouble until the last 18 months or so, this will be the fourth order with an issue, and my last order with Rock Auto. Recently I placed an order for around $500. It was to come in from Warehouses A, B, and C. Two boxes were from one warehouse, with one box each for the remaining two. After several delays from the one warehouse delivering two boxes, I received only one box. I checked the remaining tracking number to find that the shipper was returning it to the warehouse account "Damaged in shipment, unable to deliver". I then get a communication from Rock stating there was a problem with the address I had provided, and that I would be refunded the price of the parts (upon inspection), but that I would be responsible for the shipping cost! Liars!!!! I have had the same shipping address for the entire time I have been doing business with Rock Auto, AND, the other three boxes FROM THE SAME ORDER, were delivered with no issue. I have screen shots of everything, including detailed notes from the shipper, to support my claim. Terrible company to do business with. Never again. Still a good source of a diverse supply of automobile parts. I recently tried to contact customer service about an issue. No luck. They do notwant to deal with customer issues. I received a full set of brake pads which had been opened and parts for the front pads ended up in the box for the rears and the sensor for the rear pads ended up in the front pad box. And the clips for the rear pads were missing. I didn't want to wait for replacements so I made do with what I had. At least the local parts store will still talk with you. read more

Update . Received the replacement cv axle today. Upon opening the box the first problem you see is that there is nothing protecting the axle ( no wrapping,no foam,no plastic) . Once again parts are missing . The axle looks like it fell out of a truck right into a box . Now I know why there is no phone number or way to talk to them .
