I was in town for work. I planned on giving 2 stars because my sushi roll and miso soup were fine last night. Tonight, I had a hair in my ramen I ordered. I was using my chopsticks swirling up my ramen then I saw a fine black hair. One bite and then the whole meal was ruined. I paid $20 for this. For hairy ramen. No wonder it was empty on a Tuesday. The locals probably know they only want to see hair in a business at the barbershop. I tried calling 6 times yet I never got an answer. They had to drop to one star afterwards. Ridiculous. In the area for the weekend. Sushi was decent. Not the best I've had, but not the worst. I ordered the hot hot honey roll. I didn't find this "hot" at all. I don't know where the hot honey was. You won't find another sushi place (besides this chain) with this kind of "Rock and Roll" type of atmosphere. I went once and they did not have any shrimp tempura which took out a lot of options. Even their sweet tea is yummy. There's so much good going on in this restaurant you walk out of this place feeling like your money was well spent. Not the place to come with children. My experience here was basically a 60 minute cortisol rush. The nasty rock and roll music videos are on screens everywhere like a bar- so this place is true to its name (#mybad). But despite that- our food took AGES! And our waitress didn't even notice or care and it was a Monday night, like they weren't even busy. It's one thing if food takes over 30 minutes after ordering. It's another if you don't even freaking try to help your table or say "Hey I'm sorry it's taking so long." Finally I had to flag someone down and mention that our food was taking a really long time. You know how there is a difference between sticky rice and sushi rice? There is a difference. And the rice here is sticky and compact. The fish doesn't taste fresh. Doesn't even look fresh. My wife and I called in and ordered some chicken & steak fried rice, sushi rolls, and crab wontons. I was told on the phone my order would be ready in 30mins. When I walked in, I was immediately greeted by a gentleman. He seemed very kind and asked me how my night was going. he then directed me to the bar area to pick up my to go order. As expected the place was packed after recently opening. The atmosphere was a vibe. There were guitars all along the walls. There were TVs playing music videos. In the center of the restaurant they had what looked like a smaller version of a Jumbotron. The space was very active. It would be fun to just sit at a table and people watch. I walked up to the bar and immediately the server said are you B? I said you got it she handed me my food, and asked me to swipe/tap my card on the reader. When I got back home and opened up our food, everything smelled amazing. I was especially impressed with the chicken and steak. Some sushi restaurants have that rubbery kind of meat. Rock 'n' roll sushi was completely different! The meat was very tender and juicy. I'm getting hungry again just thinking about it. The sushi rolls were amazing. My wife said she enjoyed the crab wontons and her experience roll. I'll definitely be taking my wife into the restaurant for a date night soon. FYI - there was a lady at the bar who is very upset. She explained to the server she ordered food online and already paid for it, but when she got there they told her they didn't receive her order. She said the same thing happened to one of her neighbors. The server was very apologetic and tried to make it right. If you're going to order food to-go maybe call in and order it.
