One of my co-workers turned me on to this place. I finally went for a takeout earlier this week at the Airport PiccadillySquare Location (not on Yelp). It was very good. Well, this evening I stopped by the McGregor location. Amazing!! If I had to choose which location I like better, thumbs up to the McGregor Location. The waitress at the Airport location was more personable but that's not to say the McGregor waitress was not good. I will go back to both. The VIP is scrumptious and I love the vegetables. The atmosphere is warming at the Airport location, more room and there are a couple of tables for outside dining. The Piccadilly location should join Yelp. read more

I have a hard time moving on to other choices from my favorite, the sweet home Alabama roll. A fried roll with avocado, cream cheese, crab and smoked salmon with spicy sauces on top. It is amazing! Ok, I love this place!!! The sushi selection is so unique. Wo knew that strawberries would compliment so well. The whole rock n roll theme of the restaurant is great, each roll named after a band. The seaweed salad, perfectly seasoned everything. Fried wontons are great but the sauces takes it to another level. I've had ever roll except the fried and baked. Honestly a bit scared to try. I have been coming to this restaurant for a little over four years now, and it is without a doubt the best sushi in Mobile. The tuna is fresh, the service is quick, and the portions are good. Fantastic 70/80s rock playlist to go along with the theme of the restaurant, and Courtney was a great server who was very knowledgeable about the menu. I see the same employees each time I'm here, which speaks volumes about management. It seems more locations open up across the southeast every month, which is great if you dont live in Mobile. This once a single location restaurant is now a healthy, growing franchise but there has been no fall off from the food or service quality. My favorite rolls are the Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Cyndi Lauper-HIGHLY recommend. We come on a weekly basis, sometimes twice a week! read more

Used to eat take out from Mcgregor location all the time, they knew who I was as I walked in the door. Now, they won't answer their phone. I've had to drive to the restaurant to order my take out and sit and wait. I also had to figure out the WAITR app (not very user friendly, hard to scroll up and down) and they still wouldn't accept my order tonight. My daughter and I went to this location a few nights ago and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a small restaurant but it has a lot of character. I am not sure if this is a franchise but nevertheless it was very nice and enjoyable. The waitstaff was very friendly and very knowledgeable of their menu. Holding to the restaurant theme of Rock & Roll each menu is made up of an album cover. Each sushi roll is named after a music artist or band. My Sparta Roll was with a delicious well seasoned tempora soft shell crab. For those who just want to have a drink and a little sushi they also have a bar and a well stocked supply of beers. All of the staff are very friendly, and efficient, but the waitresses work extra hard, and even remember what regulars like to eat/drink. The food is always good. The sushi was ok but my disappointment was the service. Two different waitresses seemed to take turns with our table. We waited 15 - 20 minutes for a squid salad which we needed up having to ask for. Then it turned out that the crawfish used had black pepper which a person at our table is highly allergic to. A waitress came by and asked if everything was ok. We said no but she kept walking. Again my friend had to go up and ask about the black pepper. They were completely unconcerned and finally asked if she wanted something else. Really ???? And then acted liked we should be grateful that they didn't have is for the roll that, had she not realized it, could have killed her. Never, ever returning - not worth my friends life. read more

In addition to the staff being rude and arguing in front of the patrons, the staff ignored many of the guest that were there while they congregated at one end of the bar. While the salad was great, the sushi was horrible with tuna and shrimp tempura tasted very old. I was afraid to eat it, I told them that it smelled bad and tasted strange but they made excuses for it. I do not recommend Rock n Roll Sushi.
