Wish I could say I liked this place. The woman who did my nails was very nice and I hate to leave a bad review, but I'll never go back. I got a French tip manicure and it was awful. Uneven, chunky and bubbled. One was particularly bad and she noticed me looking and asked if it was ok. I told her where the tip met the polish didn't look even to me and she tried to fix it but I'm pretty sure it just ended up worse. I was going to do the same for my pedicure but switched to a solid color. It was better, but nothing I couldn't do at home. I also got an eyebrow wax done. My brows look good, but she got wax in my hair that she attempted to get out, but after leaving I noticed a small chunk still in my bangs, plus a little in the corner of my brow. Really wanted to like the place, especially since she was so sweet, but I can't recommend it to anyone. read more

I definitely do not recommend this place. Owner was initially accommodating when I went back to get a section retoned. On the 3rd attempt which went very much in the wrong direction color wise (brighter orange than before) she got frustrated and snapped at me when I protested that the color was worse than before. She said "I'm not going to argue with you" and proceeded to put a very dark color in. The salon itself doesn't have very good lighting and it wasn't until I got home that I noticed how dark it was. Definitely still not blending like I had been asking for. I have since been to two different salons in Madison to inquire about correcting the color and cut. Both said my hair is damaged, especially the small section in front she retoned twice and is now that super dark streak. They need to know if the dark color she applied is permanent or demi. I have emailed numerous times and left a voice message and text message asking her to answer this question and I have gotten no reply. I also initially asked her for a partial refund since I was obviously not 100% satisfied with the service. Not surprised she hasn't replied to that. But I am at least hoping she answers the simple question about what type of product she used in my hair so that I can move forward in getting healthier hair. read more

If I could give this 0 stars I would. I came in with a Groupon for cut, color, deep condition, and style. I was in and out in less than 40 minutes for a job that should take at least 2 hours. She was so sloppy and overconfident. She didn't even take the time to put my foils in properly, let alone let the highlights process. I had to go to another salon to get my hair fixed. I had a groupon for a shellac mani and regular pedi. The girl who did my nails was nice, and I enjoyed talking to her, but my manicure is awful. She hurt my cuticles--ripped them off roughly--and the polish application is the sloppiest I've ever seen. If I hadn't been on a 2 hour break from work I would have asked for it to be redone, but I had no time. Also, it shouldn't have been this bad in the first place...the fact that the manicurist is ok with letting me leave like this (she can see her work!) demonstrates that quality is lacking here. Moreover, the cleanliness of this salon is very questionable, so I didn't want to spend any more time in there. Tools are thrown in a glass of sterilizing liquid, but the towel I placed my hands on during my mani was ripped and stained and the station was dirty. read more

I had a Groupon for a mani pedi and came in on a weekend. The staff were friendly and nice, but the manicure felt very informal and rushed. The manicurist kept asking me if the manicure felt alright, but the frequency was every 5 minutes, and I started to get the feeling that she had some complaints before. When she asked if the nails looked alright, I noticed that the nail polish wasn't applied evenly, and it was messy around the cuticle. I asked her to clean them up, but even after 'fixing' it, they still looked worse than if I had done them myself. I can't tell if they just don't want to honor Groupons anymore and did a poor job on purpose, or if they truly aren't familiar with how a good manicure should look. I can't imagine they retain many of the first time customers with services like that. read more

Very disappointed in the service. I brought my 2 & 3 year old boys in for haircuts. The woman cutting their hair, who is also the owner, was very unfriendly. First, I had to ask her to wear a mask while she cut my two unvaccinated children's hair. She did not seem happy about that, but she did put a mask on. However, never said hello or said anything other than "look at your toes." I had to ask her to re- cut both the boys hair as she didn't even bother to cut any of the hair that was below their mask. I chose this place because it said it did kids haircuts as well as birthday parties... which made me think they were good with kids. I would not recommend this place. read more

My friend and I bought Groupons and I will never be returning. We felt super rushed, it was not relaxing, i was sitting in an office chair for my pedi.. she only did 1 coat of polish. My nails look chipped on the ends. She didnt soak them, massage or moisturize anything. She said 2 girls calles in sick and she feels bad turning people away that had appointments.. well personally i'd rather save my $$ for a day when they have adequate staff to make it a relaxing and quality experience.. very disappointed, not a quality salon for nails whatsoever. Finger nail polish had already been pealing and it has only been three hours (should last weeks) On top of it all, it seemed that there was some tension between the two working today, making being in the room awkward. Like a previous reviewer, I had purchased a LivingSocial deal for half off f a Brazilian wax. It was my first time, but I did a bunch of research beforehand so I would know what to expect and be properly prepared. Angelina was very friendly and had a professional attitude the entire time. However, several things I expected (because I had read that they were standard procedure in all professional Brazilian waxes. 1. She didn't do much of anything to prepare my skin. She dabbed some sort of cleanser on a few places, but that was it. No powder or anything to keep the wax from adhering too much to my skin. 2. She did not wear gloves. 3. She used the same applicator stick the whole time, dipping it repeatedly into the wax pot even after she had touched my skin (in a very private area) with it. 4. She went over the same patch of skin several times if she didn't get all of the hair the first time. She didn't reapply more wax, but she took the same cloth strip and dab-and-ripped again and again. 5. She asked me if I wanted a full Brazilian, but she didn't even come close to certain areas. There was a LOT of hair left behind. More than you would use tweezers to remove. read more

Not very rocking, or very glam. Definitely doesn't live up to the name. No real place to store client belongings. Bought a Yelp deal and got a keratin treatment and haircut. The treatment was nice and left my hair very soft, but when the stylist put me under the hair dryer, it rested on my head, then fell off entirely. No one was very apologetic about that. Haircut was fine, though after sayng several times my former stylist only used the clippers to buzz the back of my neck, she cut my hair with clippers! So far it seems to take off the weight, but it hasn't been a week yet, so we'll see. I mentioned several times my previous stylist would razor cut my hair, but she only used shears, then texture sheers. Including tip, I spent $35 on the treatment and cut. Not bad for the money, but overall not the best experience. I won't be back. read more

Do not get a brazilian wax here. While it was great that it was so cheap with the Yelp Deal and the woman was nice, there were more things that will keep me from returning. 1) The woman did not wear gloves. 2) She didn't get quite all the hair, and much of that was because she wasn't wearing gloves. 3) She double-dipped the waxing sticks into the wax. 4) The room where I got my wax was the back room and/or storage area where color was mixed. 5) It just didn't seem very sanitary to me at all. I was excited to get a cut scheduled at the last minute with Alyssa. I showed her a picture of a wavy bob and my hair is wavy so I thought it was reasonable. The cut was cute when it was wet but as soon as it dried it turned into a triangle because there were no layers cut in. I looked like Roseanne Roseannadanna from SNL, so it would have been funny if it weren't attached to my head. I told her I was growing out my bangs so she cut them bluntly where they lay on my cheekbone like a kid cut them in one swipe. It looked completely unnatural without tapering. I had said I didn't want a ton of layers but I don't know that much about hair (I get it cut about once or twice a year) so I feel like she should have told me that I needed layers to get the cut I wanted. I'm pretty easy going and would have left it to the expert. I'm kind of a people pleaser too so I'm not very comfortable speaking up in the moment. I should have asked for someone else right away but it's hard to tell someone to their face that they didn't do a good job. Additionally, I had asked Alyssa about lash extensions and she said she doesn't like to do them because people's eyes are sensitive, so they lost my business on that service. I also asked if she could suggest some hair care products to use and though she used something on my hair and described how it would work, she didn't tell me what it was. I felt like she was against upselling. In the end I called back and asking for a re-cut, which Angelina did very well. She was very nice and explained what she was doing and seemed to understand my type of hair. I'll probably come back to have Angelina cut my hair but the bad first impression is unfortunate. read more

It was just my birthday on the 16th (a Friday) and me and some family wanted mani pedi's. But we were struggling with where to go. My mom suggested the Rock N Glam Salon and spoke very highly of Angelina (my mom had been to her for hair before). It was a fine experience. The pedicure was great and I respect making your own scrub. However, after we left, I noticed how uneven the nails were and places that were missed when being painted. AND that night, not even 12 hours after I had gotten my nails put on, 2 of them came off. And no, I wasnt doing anything crazy. I also NEEDED these nails on Sunday for a photo shoot. So I gave them a call and I was able to come in Saturday and Angelina redid the two nails that fell off. But 7 hours later, AND 2 MORE FELL OFF! I had to go to a salon on the east side, and have them redo those two and pay for them. Too much of a hassle. I would not recommend. Update, I had my photo shoot and a couple hours afterwards another nail fell off. So I had to just take off all my nails by myself. I called and left a voicemail for this company telling them what happened and asking for a refund. They did not call me back so I called to talk to someone the next day. They told me that they could give me my $30 back on my card which they did. However, my total came out to be $81. $35 for the pedicure and they charged a dollar for the shoes, so $45 for the manicure. Don't know where they got the $30 from. They should have given the $81 back. read more

This place might be okay for some men's short shaves but I do NOT recommend it for women. I left with way more taken off than I'd asked for, and a very uneven cut. The service was poor, like no one in there had been to beauty school. I wish I could say it would just grow out but I had to go somewhere else to have it fixed. I've trimmed my own hair a few times with way better results. Bless their hearts, I can tell that they were trying, but that didn't change that my hair was a wreck. read more

I went there to get beaded extensions. It was done alot faster then ever before, in less than an hour for my WHOLE head. She used way less hair. She said she blended it. It felt very rushed. She didn't discuss my hair before she started. There was no pattern to putting them it. I didn't know any of this until I left there and got a good look at it and had another professional look at it. She basically picked up hair clamped in. I was in shocked at how my hair looked. That a professional actually let me walk out of the salon that like, that I paid someone to do this. I ended up having to have someone else who knew what they were doing fix it. They had to take it all down and redo it the right way. I would not recommend this salon for hair extensions. read more

The manicure sucked and the skinny girl filed my cuticle until the skin came off. I told them I wanted a hair cut she did not even wash my hair and she charged me $35.00. DO NOT GO HERE EVER!!!! If I could leave negative stars I would. I went in with a groupon for a cut, deep condition, dry, style and i could choose if I wanted a full color or partial highlights. I told her (the OWNER) I just wanted to touch up my highlights. I showed her a picture of how I wanted it and she said she will just touch up my highlights and then put something in it to make it more vibrant throughout the rest of my head. She DYED the top of my head. I have highlights on the bottom half of my head and the top is just one color. There is also a line of my natural hair across one side of my head because she didn't even bring the color all the way down to where my roots ended. She only put the color on the top of my head and didn't even match it with the rest of my hair. She also cut off about 5 inches. I was crying when I was in there and asked if she could fix it and she said no. She dried my hair partially but did not style it even though the groupon said so. I asked that because I didn't get a style and that's what I paid for if she's taking $$ off. She said no because the Groupon didn't say I was getting a style. She read the groupon to me and I could see exactly what she was reading and she skipped over where it said style. I showed her what I had on my phone and then she tried to tell me I got a blowout and that was the style. MY HAIR WASN'T EVEN COMPLETELY DRY!!! So that didn't help her case that she just ran I blow dryer through my hair. She was going to charge me $30 extra for the extra mixes she made. To add to that, she was very sloppy with the mix, completely rushing, got the mix literally all over the place. She got some on my shirt, all over the floor, etc. She probably wouldn't have had to make an extra bowl if she was more careful. After the "you didn't style my hair" hullabaloo, she said "fine 15". I went back to the mirror before I paid just to make sure I still hated it and went back right after I wiped my tears to pay the extra $15 (this was for extra mix so this was in addition to the groupon that I had already purchased). After I came back she told me 30 again and I was like "nah, you said 15". She was all sassy with me the minute I said I didn't like it. I'm usually the one to let it go and grow out, but this time I was furious. I'm supposed to be going to New York in 3 days to celebrate my 21st birthday and THIS is how I get to look!!!! I am BEYOND pissed and I will NEVER go back. I normally get my hair done at MATC by STUDENTS and its way better than this!!! Warning: be very careful getting your hair done here. I asked for a couple of inches off the bottom to get rid of split ends and wound up with more than 6 inches off my hair. Stylist didn't even ask me if the length was OK until AFTER she'd already taken a chunk off... A little too late to be asking so at that point I was committed to a short hair cut that I didn't want and expressly asked not to have... Also, I do not have time to style my hair on a day-to-day basis so I asked for something "wash and wear," but it looks terrible air dried. It has to be styled when not in a ponytail. I went in for a Shellac Mani-Pedi. Not knowing that the pedi was just a regular pedi, I picked out a gel color for both hands and feet. The owner however was rude about it. I will never recommend this place to anyone. If you like to read the entire "story" feel free to look it up on Google. Per other reviews, I have to agree that this place isn't inviting or clean. People really need to do their research before purchasing anything. Lesson learned for me! In response to your rebuttal on Google, I think it's great that you have loyal clients because I can see that you pick and choose who you want to be nice to. I on the other hand, definitely did not fall into that category the moment I walked in. I appreciate that you've navigated the attention onto me and have made it sound as though I was the obnoxious client. I applaud you for that. You should really absorb all of your reviews though and take it as a learning experience. How you build your relationship with your clients whether they are "loyal" or new will determine how you build your business. People only leave a review if they had an awesome experience or an awful one. Horrible. My mom and I bought a grupon to have mani pedis together and on the day of we walked in there and no one said a word. We're like "hello?" Horrible rude service. The pedicure chair was an office chair with a chair massager strapped to it-darn near duck taped. Just disgusting and such low class. You know if the 2 women there would have looked up greeted us and said SOMETHING we may have stayed....but they didn't. Such a crazy awful experience. They suck at their jobs and their salon is not a "salon" it is a make shift shitty ass place. The nail polish they had was Sinful!!!!! From Walgreens!! Very unhappy with my experience. My bridesmaids and came to get our hair done before my wedding. I previously had a wonderful experience and prefer to use small business so i was excited to come back. The stylist barely talked to me and came off pretty rude. My bridesmaids have since made their own complaints but one of them left after paying $45 for essentially a bun I could have done. I wasn't going to even leave a review until I noticed our pictures were posted on Facebook without our permission. Normally I would be all for it but none of us were asked permission which has made me very angry. Though I was happy with my hair my experience was awful and I will not be returning. read more

Here's the thing - the atmosphere doesn't live up to the name at all. I am okay with the actual services that were rendered for hair, but I expected a different experience based on the name and marketing for the salon. It was not a "glam" salon at all. It's in an office building with loud rock (but NOT good rock) playing. I wouldn't think it was an edgy salon at all if not for the music and a few posters. I expected a more modern atmosphere and ended up spending most of my time looking at shabby upholstered chairs and poorly painted walls.I probably won't return. I can't even begin to explain how disappointed I am with my experience at this salon. First off I went in with a picture and a pretty good explanation of what I wanted. I explained that I wanted full bangs, not too heavy and not too light. I also needed a trim to get my split ends off and then have my bangs blended down... what I received was nothing of the sort. First off my bangs start at the crown of my head resulting in two inch layers all around my head that didn't and cant be blended down to anything. Not only do I have to pay to get my hair leveled out so that it doesn't look like a three year old child went wild on my hair, I also will have to pay for extensions so that I can gain back all the length I lost. Just to add to this horrible experience, when I messaged the owner to explain my situation and just let her know I was not happy with my experience she responded arguing she did nothing wrong and then blocked me. But if you're looking for a more comfortable experience, I wouldn't recommend spending $50 here for a brazilian wax. read more

This was by far the worst salon experience I have ever had. I looked them up on google and got in for last minute highlights. HUGE MISTAKE. Angelina rushed through putting my foils in and the result was orange stripes with a half inch of dark roots in some places. She proceeded to try to "fix it" but the end result was so bad I had to reschedule a client meeting today because my color looks so trashy. The worst part is, I told her to charge me what SHE thought it was worth, and knowing I was on the verge of tears and totally dissatisfied, she charged me $67 for services she did without telling or asking me. This salon is not clean nor well lit. I should've walked out the moment I saw it. Unprofessional, dishonest and sneaky. They want your money and don't care if you come back. I will be paying $150 tomorrow to have a true professional correct my color. My advice to potential clients-run. My advice to the salon- you give a great experience a customer will tell 1 person, you give a bad experience, they will tell everyone. If you don't have the time to do acceptable work, don't schedule someone just to rush through it and get paid. She performed services on 2 other clients while attending to me. Angelina is nice enough but similar to another comment I saw, there was no greeting or introduction. Had she accepted the poor job, scheduled a time to correct it and not snuck in services to charge me for, I would say honest mistake, it could happen to any stylist, but the way this was handled and the service rendered was unacceptable. read more

Hidden costs and very unprofessional hair cut. The hair cut was not great, she did not understand how to thin hair, but I had low expectations for a $25 cut. However it was NOT $25. Because I wanted to see how the cut looked dry - which is very different than when wet - I was charged an extra $10. I was NOT informed of this charge when I asked if I could have my hair dried. She didn't even fully dry it, most of my hair was still damp, and she didn't offer to style it. I could get a much better hair cut and overall experience for $35. In addition I had an evening appointment, and it was clear that everything was being done as quickly as possible so they could go home. If they don't want to be there past 7pm, than they shouldn't schedule appointments at that time. read more
