Cute salon with amazing products! Brooke did a phenomenal job with color, cut and style of my hair!! I have reddish undertones that always seem to come through after lightening my hair. I have a lighter complexion which reddish hair makes more red. Over the past 2 years (at other salons,) I have been asking for dark, deep, base and darker purple highlights. My hair has either washed out 2-3 weeks in, or has turned reddish instead of purple. I have also never gotten the dramatic angled cut I love. I have tried showing pictures of what I'd like, and have been specific of the angle and/or length. I ask for recommendations as to what is closest between what I want and what can be done to my hair. After recently moving and having a baby, I decided it was time to try out another salon. My husband (on a whim) found this salon and gifted me services for when I had our baby. My hair appointment with Brooke was great. She listened, gave her recommendation to try and I just LOVE my color and cut!! I have been sitting on my frustration.... I had my hair highlighted and cut a couple weeks ago. My hair turned out great (with minimal mix ups), however, I was charged 50% more than what was told to me than when I booked online. I went to an apprentice knowing the "risk" of not having as high of level as service. Her highlights do have some imperfections and chunks, luckily not right on top of my head. I have made an appointment with an apprentice in the past and there was no issue. Had I known I would be charged $135 instead of $90, I would have taken my business elsewhere. I feel that the price increase was a little sneaky as I was given the higher priced services without knowing this. Please inform your next customer of the price increase BEFORE you start your services. I would hate for someone else to be as upset as I am. I am not going to mention the stylist that I worked with. After the pandemic, the stylist I was working with started double booking, I would sit with color and highlights on my hair for45 minutes to an hour while she took another haircut. She would not even come back to check how my highlights were processing. And my stylist was so rushed, that I would come back to a chair full of the other persons hair. After almost a year my hair was so damaged. my bangs broke off where the highlights were put in. I requested with scheduling that they not double book and I spoke with my stylist about it and they just kept doing it. It has taken me almost a year to grow my hair back. The owners of the salon should not allow their stylist to double book. Ruins your hair, and you sit there for three hours. read more

I enjoy this salon. I've now returned for my 4th or 5th time seeing Rebecca and it has always been a pleasant experience. The use of Aveda products and the head massage with the cut and color makes this an upscale experience. They always offer herbal tea and chocolate as you wait. As an at home mom, this is my refuge. I can easily book appointments in the afternoons which is ideal for me. The parking is a bit strange due to the building layout. I usually park across the street and have to cross Cheryl Drive which gets some speedy, on the go, talking on cellphone drivers leaving the subdivision. Please slow down people! read more

I chose an Aveda salon because I've always had good luck with their haircuts and to be safe I requested someone at least mid-level experience wise. Got someone with 3 years experience. I went from growing out my bangs to that entire side of my head having a layer cut to the length of my bangs and a gap to the longer layers (see photo). Super disappointed as I told the receptionist about the headshot, don't know why I was paired with a junior stylist. Cut was good but utterly ruined my haircolor! I went in for my roots to be touched up and for purple to be dyed on top of my existing blonde hair. Not a terribly difficult task as I dye my own hair at home and get pretty good results having blonde hair. My stylist EL said it might come out a bit darker but would still be "vibrant" purple. I'm not terribly picky so I said that would be fine as long as it was purple... we'll low and behold it turns out stark black! I went in a second time for them to fix it by just lightening it up to a "light purple". The entire time I received attitude from the stylist and walked out with maroon hair. I overpaid for hair I need to wait and grow out to get rid of- what a rip off. Very dissapointed and highly recommend people find other salons if they want non natural color. read more

I have been going to Ecco now for almost 5 years and it is the only salon I trust. The stylist are so friendly and helpful. They are a teaching salon and it shows in how up to date they are with all the new techniques. I go to ether Sarah Beth or Laura. Either I would highly recommend for coloring and cuts. I have gone brown, red, and platinum blonde over the years and they have done a fabulous job every time. read more

I hadn't dyed my hair in months as I worked very hard to get my hair healthy again. I usually went to Kenzie but she unfortunately left. I wanted a balayage and decided to pay a little more to get someone who had more experience. After leaving I could see it was nothing like the picture and instead had only a few highlights and my bangs were very yellow. I contacted them and they said they would make it right and fix it. I went back again and when showing more photos to get it fixed was told that a balayage was just a name for another technic for highlights (no matter what even my hair didn't look remotely close to what I showed her). She explained she couldn't get it light like that and I told her I understood as my hair is naturally red and can be hard to get that in one dye. She was nice again but after washing out the bleach I could see her making faces in the mirror. I got home and my hair was bright yellow/orange, and gummy. I will not be going back. I will have to go someone else to try to get it fixed now. read more

They offer a 15% discount on your first service for Epic employees. After that, they offered me a discount on my next service if I booked it ahead of time. It may have been as much as 20%, I'm not sure. If you're getting cut+color, that's pretty substantial! They do a scalp massage before haircuts with Aveda oils. If you're getting color you still get a bit of a head massage when your color gets rinsed out. I've almost always also been offered a complimentary hand massage while I'm waiting for my color to develop. They use great Aveda hand lotion. They have coffee, water, and tea and a well-stocked bowl of chocolate in the waiting area. Their magazines are pretty current and varied as well, which is nice as I like to spend my salon time catching up on magazines I'd never buy. You can choose an experienced or newer stylist depending on your needs and price point. I go to Sara Beth (there are multiple Sarah's there), who is great at not cutting too much off when I really do want a "trim" or an inch off. She also did a great job taking me from blonde to dark reddish brown. My roots often end up much lighter or my hair doesn't darken enough to keep the color for more than a few weeks- I've never had any issues with Sara Beth! I go every six to seven weeks now to do my roots and it's about $80-85 for cut+color. read more

I've been getting my hair cut at Ecco for over 3 years. The atmosphere is modern and cool. Everything is clean, and everyone is friendly. I would definitely recommend Ecco. I am pretty trustful of any stylist at an Aveda salon, so I'm not very particular about who I go to at Ecco. I've had my hair cut by many of their stylists. THE BEST So far, my favorite stylist has been Sarah T. She really took her time with the details, and I left feeling pretty, confident, and loving my new hairstyle. THE WORST The only stylist I haven't liked has been Marie. She was kind of rough. I also felt like she was rushing. I have a lot of hair, so it felt like she was overwhelmed and didn't have time to do a good job. When she took the cape off I was kind of shocked that she was done cutting my hair. She said if I needed it fixed, I could come back later in the week. If you can already tell that my hair looks bad and will need to be fixed, why are you letting me go out into the world with bad hair?!?!?!? I won't be going back to her ever again, but every other stylist I've had at Ecco has been great, so I will be back. read more

Please Please do not get a haircut from Melissa .. By far the worst haircut of my life. Iam from Boston visiting my sister and niece ...thought I would try out this salon which was right next door to my sister's house.... Didn't want anything fancy just a simple bob cut...somehow she managed to hide the haphazard cut behind the soft curls she gave me as part of styling. When I reached back to Boston the same day after one hair wash I realized what a disaster this haircut was!!! Which cost me $50 +$6 as tip... She calls herself a senior stylist there and even charges $10 more! Please do not ever go to her she has ruined my hair!! read more

This review will be purely about eyebrow waxing/shaping. I tend to grow out my eyebrow hair for a couple weeks when I find that I have butchered them in between maintenance. I don't know if this makes it necessarily more difficult or easier on an aesthetician (more to work with, I guess?), but this was the "setting" so to speak of what they started with whenever I came in for an appointment. On one of my visits, I came in with bushy brows, and came out with brows that were thin, had no arch or shape, and my left one had the tail-end separated from the rest of the brow. Jamie had done my eyebrows then, and to put it simply, I do not recommend her for this particular task. I don't know if it was because she was inexperienced or I just came in on a bad day. If it was due to inexperience, I wouldn't want to be the next person blindly scheduled with her for an eyebrow waxing. My visit after that, I came in with the same bushy brows but exited with fierce, perfect, diva-esque arches that I did not think were possible. JoJo did them that time (and everytime after that). I was so impressed that she shaped them very well without having a too-thin look. I HIGHLY recommend her if you need your brows to be livened up. Despite the waiting room being the size of a closet, and there being a bunch of kids there this day, the ambiance of the place is nice. The receptionist got me took my coat and got me coffee when I got there and was helpful. My stylist was "L". I had curly, styled hair walking in and she immediately started combing my hair from the roots down which was very painful and was pulling out some of it. You don't comb hair like that in general, ESPECIALLY with curly hair with hairspray in it. Ouch. She didn't cut the layers in my hair to correlate with the length that it got cut so it doesn't even look like I have any- which I did when I walked in. I requested at the end that she cut them more and she did so subtly I can't even tell, at that point i thought to myself that I'll just do it myself when I get home. Probably would have had better luck with a stylist but I didn't really like the vibes there anyways. read more

I was greeted immediately and the front desk employee took my coat for me and got me water (offered other drinks too) to drink while I waited, which is so simple but very welcoming and kind! My stylist, Stephanie, was a good listener and did a great job explaining the Aveda products, styling, and hair maintenance. They also respected my need of sulfate-free shampoo during the service as SLS makes me scalp break out, and I appreciated them accommodating that need. I'm happy with my haircut! Great Aveda salon! They are so sweet and accommodating there. Laura has been doing my hair for a couple years now. I finally found a stylist to stick with! She makes great conversation, awesome scalp massages, and makes me feel like a total babe when she is finished. She also is great for recommending treatments that would really benefit your hair needs! She recommended a toner for my blonde hair and WOW! I have beautiful ashy blonde hair now. This was my first time at this salon. Based on my overall experience, I'm giving them a below average rating. The salon itself is clean and modern. However, because of the loft ceilings, sound seemed amplified. It was busy, very noisy, and the complete opposite of a relaxing experience. The receptionist was friendly and offered a beverage upon arrival, which was much appreciated. My stylist (Marie Nee) did not meet my expectations, and is the main reason for my below average rating. During shampooing and conditioning, she applied an extreme amount of pressure to my head/scalp. It was harsh and unpleasant. When she finished the haircut with my wet hair, she never asked if I liked the length. She was conservative on how much length she took off. (I suppose it's better to be conservative than to cut off too much hair.) However, it's the responsibility of the stylist to check with the client on how much length they want cut. My stylist did not do that. She then blow dried my hair and dry-cut long layers. I requested face-framing layers, but the stylist stated that my hair would look like a mullet. What?! It appeared as if she did not want to finish the haircut. (Not sure if she was running late and had another client waiting or what the deal was.) She seemed to rush me out of her chair and told me to go home, and if I needed to get the haircut fixed, I could return to the salon in the next few days. Wow, really? If she did a good job, there would not be a reason to offer that service! Upon returning home, I ended up fixing my own face-framing layers. It's always a bad sign when you have to fix your own haircut after a "professional" has cut it. Thumbs down. I may or may not go back to this salon. I've been to the salon several times for haircuts which ranged from not so great to great based on the person I saw. I don't have the luxury of time and money to get my hair done in a salon every 8 weeks but wanted to treat myself. Recently, I went in to get my hair colored and left feeling disappointed and embarrassed as I was shamed for coloring my hair at home. No one likes to feel judged for their personal decisions. I have naturally curly hair and struggled my way through various salons and a few terrible cuts before finding Ecco last winter. I was horribly nervous that I'd receive another bad cut from someone who didn't really know how to properly cut curly hair, but my concerns were unfounded--Sara Beth has been nothing but wonderful. I have been going to Ecco Salon for years now. After moving from another state and leaving my hairdresser of many years behind, I had tried multiple stylists at a ton of different salons. Ecco salon is hands down the best hair salon in the area, in my opinion. I like the atmosphere and everyone is always incredibly polite. Marie has been my stylist for all of these years and she ALWAYS does a fantastic job! I also get my brows done here on occasion and have been very pleased with the results. I just had my first appointment there last night and was very pleased with the experience. I had my hair highlighted by Rebecca, who was excellent! She gave the perfect amount of time to read magazines mixed with some small talk. Also, she recommended great colors and even gave my hair an extra treatment at the shampoo bowl. I have never had to write a bad review but my haircut experience was not good. I went home and wanted to cry. I have short hair so it should not take two hours to walk out with a terrible bowl cut i didn't even want anyone to see me i had to run to drugstore to buy color to cover up the highlights I had which now made a ring around my head and pray it would blend and then try to style it ugh. Promptly after I finished that information, I was taken back to get my hair cut. I was lucky enough to get a wonderful conversationalist and talented stylist, Jessica.
