Emmy offered a complimentary dermaplaning treatment on my first facial visit and now I add it to my scheduled services every time. It really helps smooth my skin and allow it to absorb all the moisture and nutrients from the facial treatments we do during my appointment and products I use at home. My treatments have been helping my skin stay calm and healthy as I work to improve acne. Emmy creates a calm and comforting environment and I really enjoy my appointments with her, I leave feeling relaxed and beautiful. I even brought my mom once to do back to back facials and we both had a fabulous time. She really tailors the treatments to her clients and offers a variety of services to meet all of your beauty needs. Thank you Emmy! Can't wait for my next visit.

I chose Emmy because she's had years of experience and was well regarded by others in the beauty industry. Her calm voice and detailed explanation of the process immediately put me at ease. She explained that she had a nursing background and that became apparent in the way that I felt nurtured and cared for during the facial. I felt a sense of peace and calm in her studio that was beautifully decorated with agate accents, a mobile and wall art that looks like it came straight out of the Urban Outfitter catalog. What I love and appreciate about Emmy is her approach to address your concerns about your skin first and foremost. She doesn't try to up-sell any products or services, she genuinely wants to give you the desired results that you are trying to achieve. I really valued my experience and Emmy's advice on skincare.

My hair didn't turn green or anything, but it was really expensive to ultimately look like a single…read moreall over color, darker than what I wanted, and is not similar to what I asked for... so now waiting hoping it fades. I share this- if you're trying to gradually move back to a brunette- this probably isn't the right salon. Below are photos after the initial service, after the correction (photos after initial service were shared with salon), and the inspiration photo. I reached out to Rooted Culture regarding my correction for advice and was told "we're not a good fit". The person delivering this message was very nice- but not what I expected. While I agree, it's left me to navigate the aftermath alone. I had a consultation with Charlie regarding what I wanted to accomplish, reviewed pinterest photos, etc. I brought a singular inspiration photo to the service appointment. I was candid about the over highlighting of my hair historically and my desire to get back to a brunette with highlights vs dark blonde with highlights (which is where I started). When my hair was dried- 1/2 of my head had more highlights than the other half. There were chunky very bright blonde pieces at the front and the distance from scalp to initial highlight was very long. I mentioned the dark roots and uneven highlights, but I slept on it. I called back to correct on Wednesday. They fit me in the following Monday- awesome. I should have slowed this appointment down- so we were on the same page. Because I was slotted between clients, it was rushed. Charlie started adding low lights- I mentioned focusing on the bangs because that was my greatest concern- the heavy contrast. Charlie then started to ask me what we should do- I told her I didn't know. a gloss was suggested. Ok sure. Charlie showed me some hair swatches- "which one?" She recommended not going below a 7, but again I told her I don't know. I'd like my hair to be more blended vs high contrast. So she mixed a 9 and 8 (was that the right choice-idk- my head was in a wash bowl). So the gloss stayed on for 4songs- 12-15mins, but was applied to my whole head vs just the bang area. I mentioned that to Charlie that I thought we were only applying to bang area., she mentioned wanting the color to be consistent. End result is the dark hair color in the photos. Again not the end of the world or blue, but nothing like the inspiration photo or my expressed desire to keep some dimension.

We get it, that's why we leave reviews right? In addition to all that jazz Monica has a modality (fancy word for machine) that literally took away my wrinkles between my eyes and made my skin so super soft and hydrated that I looked 50 years younger! It's the Hydrodiamond microdermabrasion facial and its like a gentle sandblasting of your skin combined with an infusion of hydrating products that plumps your skin with a whole bunch of good products taking years off your face. Besides the results, it was the best and most amazing feeling on my face EVER. You know how when you wash your car and the machine sprinkles dew drops on your car? Her machine does that with some dewy hydrating mist that I could have paid her to do for an hour by itself because it felt so good! I kid you not, I've never experienced a facial like this- and I am also an esthetician! Please invest in your skin for many reasons, but the most important reason is your face tells a story long before your nicely manicured hands do. Let it be THIS story that your young and vibrant skin is back! You won't regret it!

I'd not previously had any acne or skin issues, so these acute changes with my face made me feel distant from my own body. I was so frustrated and felt lost. Since seeing Monica (just had my 2nd appt), I have felt so much better. She is helping me understand what's going on with my skin and relearn how to care for it. As she learns about my complexion, she takes time after each appointment to discuss what she's learned with me - which is so helpful and important. Her facials have helped me feel more empowered and less afraid of my changing face and skincare. I've been using the Glo products twice a day and so far, I've found that they're not at all aggravating.
