I'm writing this positive review based solely on my interaction with one great employee, Samantha. I walked in a couple of weeks ago, only looking for inspiration and ideas for a new project; I swore I'd never purchase anything from Rockmill again as I had previously had an an incredibly negative - and costly - interaction with a salesman and the owner a few years ago. Samantha is very helpful, and even more importantly, knowledgable. I feel like had I dealt with her in my previous transaction, I would not have had the problems that I did. A company is more than just its pretty products. Customer service, knowledge and expertise with the products weigh in as importantly in my opinion. I think with Samantha you will get the best of both worlds though I wouldn't vouch for anyone else there! I give 4 stars as I just cannot forgive the past experience I had. BUYER BEWARE. I'm an interior designer in Arizona, and we purchased 10 slabs of Silver Roots Dolomite from Rock Mill. Unfortunately, this turned into a very costly and frustrating experience. From the beginning, the slabs showed issues with the polished finish, including visible etching and surface damage. The client loved the slabs so much we decided to polish out etching on the slabs. But during fabrication, my highly experienced stone fabricator discovered that all of the slabs were structurally compromised -- something that could not have been identified through a standard visual inspection upon delivery. According to my fabricator, the failure is caused either to improper storage conditions or defects during the milling process, specifically involving the epoxy and mesh backing adhesion. During fabrication the mesh and epoxy coating on the back of every slab peeled away, causing the slabs to literally fall apart during fabrication. Silver Roots Dolomite naturally contains dramatic veining, which makes proper reinforcement absolutely critical. When the epoxy and mesh fail, the stone loses its structural integrity entirely. I contacted my sales representative, Mark at Rock Mill, and was told that because we were outside of their 7-10 day inspection window, they would not assist us further. Again, these were internal structural failures that could not have been detected through a routine visual inspection. I reached out again afterward and received no response. In my opinion, these slabs should never have been sold without disclosure regarding their condition, brittleness, or possible age-related deterioration. Based on this experience, I DO NOT recommend Rock Mill. If this is how they handle legitimate concerns from someone within the design and trade industry, I would be very concerned about how the average consumer would be treated. read more

i walked into Rock Mill tile & Stone to kill time while waiting to meet a friend. Chatting with one of the salespeople, I mentioned I'd been waiting on an order I'd paid for at CV Tile in Monrovia and they weren't returning calls or emails. He mentions the woman at the front desk (Samantha) used to work there and he thinks they declared bankrupcy. I go to the front desk, she confirms that to be true. Then she helps me figure what tile pieces I need as they clearly won't be coming from CV. I tell her I'll go home and count how many pieces I need. I email her the number of pieces I need, she sends me an email invoice, and 2 weeks later I have the special order tile I need for my kitchen counter. She also reaches out to tell me that one of the corner cap pieces is no longer made by the manufacturer, so she found a vendor who could do a special production of the one missing piece. I first heard about Rock Mill through a friend whose family has a home design & remodeling business. I bought tile for my bathroom floor there years ago, and everyone who visits my home compliments it. Call it kismet or coincidence, I walked into Rock Mill Tile & Stone and ran into Samantha at the right time, got exactly what I needed, and soon I'll have kitchen counters again. read more

We did a couple of projects with Rockmill... Their materials for the most part are incredible and prices competitive...I did run into an issue with some defective glass tile, and they ultimately did the right thing and replaced with even better product. The owners Molly and Vince wanted to make sure that we were taken care of and appreciated given the supply chain issue delays we experienced. My bathrooms and kitchen are stunning. read more

Extraordinary showroom, magnificent selection, and knowledgeable staff doesn't even say it all. I was fortunate to meet the owner who is very passionate about his collection. He showed me many pieces, several which were ancient stone fireplaces that he brought over from Europe. I wound up purchasing a nineteenth century fireplace and some very beautiful French limestone for my floors. Vik, one of the tile experts, was very helpful. Although the showroom was quite impressive, they are very fair with their prices. I highly recommend them. read more

The setting is extremely plaisant and elegant, the tiles samples are displayed in a organized and easy way for clients and myself to find the right selection. With my clients , we shop there in a peaceful and friendly environment which I really appreciate. Samantha who is my sales person there is extremely helpful and friendly . She presents some great recommendations and options, She understands very rapidly our needs and does everything to help us find the right selection.We very much always appreciate her suggestions and her personality. This place is awesome! It's in my neighborhood and they have great variety and excellent customer service so I come here for nearly all of my tile and stone needs as a designer. I always work with Samantha and she has been super helpful throughout a number of projects with sourcing and inside knowledge. She's a great resource to talk through color and finish ideas too. And anytime a rare problem has come up on the job site with any of our material she has always been quick to help and think through alternatives. Buyer Beware. We visited their stylish showroom in August and selected a tile that the sales manager quoted as $100 per sheet. The next day when we called to confirm the purchase she advised the price was now $200. We negotiated and ended up paying $150. After paying up-front many thousands of dollars we are still waiting on our tiles and every time we contact this company we are told it will be another 12 weeks due to 'issues with shipping'. Today out of the blue they contacted us and advised the price had increased (over the six months we've been waiting!) and we now owe them a further amount. While their showroom is lovely I would be very wary of doing business with this company. read more

Ok so I'm not usually one to write a review but I feel compelled to share just how bad this place is. Though I am giving it 1 star, since they do have some incredible products and the showroom is fantastic. But that being said, unless you enjoy being ridiculed, belittled and patronised, I'd go somewhere else. Literally my experience in calling up and asking if they had any other colors in a particular tile range, specifically anything in a lighter tone was met with, "I have a degree in color from Yale and for me to talk you through the differences in tone would just be over your head" Honestly?? Anyway I decided to just head down and see for myself, perhaps an in person visit would sort this out. How wrong I was. After 30mins of being told, what you're doing is just a stupid idea, but if you want to do a shit job then go for it. I literally had to persuade them to part with samples and assist me with trying to find a tile. If that wasn't enough, I went back to my client and contractor and asked them what they thought of the Rock Mill. I thought maybe it was just me, maybe I had a bad day. But it seems I wasn't the only one. In fact they both had similar experiences, with my client literally having to leave after 30mins of arguing with a sales associate. Honestly, in 15 years of working in interior design I've never know anything like it. But sure if you want nice tiles & stone, maybe you might find something you like. CTM is fantastic! I wandered in there after going to a couple of other area tile stores, and the variety and selection of tiles blew all of the other places away. Looking for sleek and modern? Done. Want period specific tiles to lovingly restore your Spanish hacienda? You're all set. Mosaics for your Italianate villa? No problem. Whatever you need, they have it: porcelain, travertine, ceramic, glass, faux wood, you name it... And as for customer service -- they go above and beyond. Cyrus helped me select tile for my whole house. He was thoughtful and attentive and carefully considered the samples of other materials I had already chosen for the house. I'd never met him before, but I felt like I was working with an old friend from high school. He gave me honest opinions and genuinely cared about my selections. There was one bathroom in our renovation that had tile we wanted to match and add to. My contractor had been to a couple of places looking for it, and told me that this particular tile was no longer available. Cyrus took a look at the sample I brought in and was able to find the exact match within minutes. It's perfect. I don't know what other reviewers are talking about, regarding CTM's unwillingness to fix things that go awry. The tile I'd selected for my kitchen arrived with the right color name, but was a completely different shade than the sample they had. Cyrus looked far and wide for an older batch that might be the right color, and allowed me to exchange the tile for something I liked even better when the search was unsuccessful. More tile was needed than I'd originally ordered, and when holiday traffic and a protest on La Cienega made it impossible for me to pick up my additional tile, Cyrus got into his car and drove halfway to my house to meet me so that I could get the tile to motile guy and not have to wait out a four day weekend. Clark was helpful too, if I happened to go in on a rare day when Cyrus was out. My orders got complicated and specific, as tends to happen when you're doing an entire house, and they both took it all in stride. I can't recommend CTM highly enough! Go. read more

Please do yourself a favor and do not go to CTM. Our experience was a mess from the beginning. Years later we still don't have the tile we paid for and our floor is unfinished. Cyrus is already irritable and overwhelmed. But to wait months for your order, and then have it show up several tiles short? And they try to get you to drive to Gardena to take some samples in its place that don't even match? These are people who know/care about the specifics of tile and why you want them to match. They said it would be six more months to get the tile. I finally go back to get it. I finally set aside the money and book a tile guy years after we started the job. Guess what? The tiles they sent me as the rest of my overdue order don't match! Not even the same color! Now I get to go back and fight with CTM AGAIN and wait another 6 months for what may well be another screwed up order. Do not be swayed by sales, patterns, or promises from CTM. read more

My family and I are so grateful we went to Classic Tile & Mosaic! We looked at the inventory of many other tile stores. CTM by far had more selected gorgeous tiles than anywhere else. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. Clark helped us out and gave his opinion. Cyrus spent hours with us, giving his mixing and matching tiles and textures we honestly would have never ever considered. It takes true talent and years of experience to do that and we love what Cyrus chose for us! The daunting task of remodeling was made easier because of them! In addition, their prices are very fair. He actually said it would take too long to write up our order if we had decided on something!! How do they intend to stay in business? I do a lot of flips and it's hard to find a tile store that has something unique and different from all other tile stores. I was in NEED of something that would make my bathroom pop and after going to 4 different tile stores I wound up here and they had exactly what I was looking for and in stock. The lady I worked with was very knowledgeable and helpful. They even cut me a huge slab of stone to take home instead of a small sample which doesn't do it any justice. They have a wonderfully diverse selection of tiles. Everything from old world Spanish terra cotta to sleek, modern glass tiles. There truly is something for everyone. Came here for their annual sale over the summer and it was well worth it. Also, when I needed to replace a couple of black marble tiles that had cracked on my floor, they had an exact match. No other nearby tile store even came close. The reason I subtracted one star is because the aforementioned black tile was at their warehouse in Gardena, not at this location. And let's just say, that took a while to coordinate. I ended up driving out and picking up the tiles myself. Not a deal breaker, but be aware if you order anything that isn't in stock in this store itself. read more

Working with Cyrus was a wonderful experience. Not only is he knowledgeable about all types of tile but he has a strong sense for design too. He spent a lot of time talking things through with me and helping me make my final decision for our new master bathroom. I was already very happy with my experience at CTM but what moved me to write a review was the fact that Cyrus was able to save us thousands of dollars off the total. He is a true professional and I will definitely be going back for any tile needs in the future. My fabricator's truck broke down and I had no way to get the stone to him for an install in the next few days. I told Richard R. of my plight and like Superman he swooped in and saved the day arranging for a special delivery for me. When I needed an extra remnant because my client wished to add side splashes he went to the effort of finding me a piece to finish the job. Their care of the customer is the reason why Richard R. and Rock Mill Tile has become go to tile and stone supplier. read more

Have been waiting a month for a credit on returned items. Keep getting told "you'll get the credit in a day or so." Yet when they want a payment, they are right on the case and expect payment the same day. Can't believe how hard they are to deal with. Far more promises than delivery. read more

Don't let the name change fool you. We bought quite a bit of tile from Cyrus, and I truly believe what the other reviewers are saying about him. I would have given Rock Mill (aka Classic Tile) only one star if the tile itself wasn't half way decent. Cyrus sold us tile that he said would look fantastic in a modern home; little did we know that he was selling it to us because it was going to be discontinued shortly thereafter. There are so many other tile shops out there that have employees who know how to treat customers. If you are a first time home buyer and remodeling, or an experienced flipper, you know that there are so many emotions and sensitivities that accompany the process. Might as well find someone who understands and wants to make the process as smooth as possible. read more

Tiles and backsplash make ALL the difference This is to thank Cyrus S. who - I believe - helped us to increase our home value dramatically. In 2011, I approached him with the color of my terracotta-ish kitchen cabinets that I had inherited from the previous townhouse owners and wasn't fond of. My budget was very limited to redo a kitchen and two bathrooms. Cyrus advised us to replace all floor tiles and to add back splash in all three rooms - at a fraction of the cost of new cabinets. He also pointed out that the tile should be put in the entire bathroom - including underneath the cabinets - this way we could replace the cabinets in the bathrooms once we saved up more $$. The backsplash in the kitchen was a combo of glass and stone, three colors (a hint of the terracotta and light grey and a blue grey). The result - everybody was convinced that we got new cabinets, too. Between the light grey tile floor and the backsplash, the same old cabinets all of a sudden looked contemporary and hip :-). Last night we accepted an offer $55K over asking price for our 3br. townhouse in Culver City. Cyrus, you rock! Did I mention, that I now have to completely remodel our new townhouse? If you make me a good offer, I'll let CTM use it as a showroom :-). read more

AVOID!! Avoid this place if you require anything resembling decent customer service!! We bought tiles here 5 years ago when it was called CMT and had a terrible experience. Long story. Saw the new name recently and thought they were under new ownership... not the case, just a re-branding. They have a beautiful showroom with high end looking tiles, but don't let the gloss fool you. The customer service is atrocious. When asked for a price on a tile they typically guess because they're too lazy to look it up and when they finally do, the actual price can be way different. One particular salesmen has a strangely obnoxious attitude. We avoided him this time and used another guy who was nicer, but inept. We carefully selected specific tiles with him to get pricing and samples for us. A week went by and he not only forgot about it, but asked us to send the list of tiles to him again. Another week went by and we had to follow up with him again since he didn't contact us and still no info about the tiles. WTF!! We ended up finding the same tile brand at another store and got prices, sizes, colors, etc in 20 minutes. Rock Mill couldn't deliver that in 2 weeks. My guess is that they're re-branding because CMT had a bad reputation from years of poor customer service. read more

I am delighted with Classic Tile & Mosaic. Last week I spent several hours checking different showrooms to get the best tiles for my kitchen and Classic Tile & Mosaic ended up being the best option I could fiund. This store was the best I found not only because of the variety and quality of the tiles but also because of the pricing and customer service I received. Cyrus was very patient with me and he helped me get the best tiles without exceeding my initial budget. I am pleased with this company, it's can't wait to shop there again! read more

I wish this would be a good review but I am sad to say this story does NOT end well. CTM started off really strong as we were referred by our own family to come here who purchases a lot here. So I had big expectations for this place. CYRUS, who we worked with, was more than helpful in the beginning......Like most home owners doing a renovation, it took a lot of time to decide on a countertop...we came in several times matching tile to backsplash....finally we were so overwhelmed with the process that we decided to first just choose the countertop and to later choose the backsplash. So we decided on a beautiful Pental Uilano (grey) countertop. We asked CYRUS the price of the countertop and he quoted a specific price. On March 25,2015 I placed the order for 2 slabs, signed an agreement, printed the sale order and I paid 50% of the payment as agreed that day. Unfortunately the countertop was out of stock and we had to wait 4 weeks! No problem, right...we will wait because thats what we want. Weeks go by and I email CYRUS if our countertop is ready for pick up which it is!!! Minutes later he calls (April 21) and leaves a message saying he made a "boo boo" on my order and says he will have to pay the difference out of his own pocket unless we pay the difference. I emailed him back that we agreed on a price a month ago and I would like to stick to the agreed price. He emailed me back and said he decided to CANCEL my order!!! He knew we were in a bind and really needed that countertop as it was in high demand. I felt so cheated and taken advantage of. Almost like blackmail. We immediately called him back and I told him that this isn't right and if I had made a purchase for a TV at best buy and they mess up the price even tho I paid half and we agreed on a price, they aren't going to turn around and say I owe them more money because they made a mistake. Please have some integrity! I was so upset I let my fiancé talk to him. Thats when CYRUS spilled to him that he was charging us that lower price for the slab because he was assuming we were purchasing the backsplash from him. If he stated that during the purchase that would have been cool, but he NEVER did and instead he demonstrated horrible business practice and lost my respect for the business. I will make every point to make sure people know about their awful business practice. In the end we had to pay the difference because we needed that countertop badly because our contractor was waiting on it for months to complete our home. It was holding our renovation down. Bottom line, we do live in a world that when you quote a price to a customer, providing them with an invoice reflecting the agreed amount and collecting 50 % of that amount, IT SHOULD BE GOLDEN!!!! But unfortunately not everyone (CTM) obeys by those rules. DO NOT GO HERE!!! read more

Our contractor recommend this place. My wife and I went here and the heavy set guy behind the counter with the hipster glasses did not even say hello or try to help. Finally we found someone else who could help but their pricing was ridiculous we had shopped around and could quickly tell this place marked everything up way to high. I would recommend going to Anaheim where you get less pretentiousness and a better value. read more

I had a very bad experience at Classic Tile. My wife and I were remodeling our bathroom and picked out a beautiful tile pattern on display in the store. Our salesman told us it would take up to sixteen weeks to receive our order from Mexico. It arrived more quickly than that and my tile installer started the job. He laid down a dozen or so tiles down before discovering that the company in Mexico had only shipped right-hand tiles and not the left-hand ones required to make the pattern work. I informed Classic Tile, expecting them to immediately contact the manufacturer in Mexico and have them correct the order. Instead, they tried to convince us that the mismatched pattern was not noticeible and suggested we use them as is. Well, the mismatch was very noticible. We paid $2200 for the tile and expected to achieve the results seen in the store. I couldn't believe their attitude. Like I was being the jerk for not just accepting their mistake! Finally, they offered to either reorder the tile from Mexico, requiring another 16-week wait and delaying completion of our bathroom, or they would refund our money for the tiles our installer had not yet set down. Our refund did not include the used tiles (necessary to recognize the mistake) or the $375 shipping charge. When the people who had shipped the order from Mexico clearly made the mistake in the first place! Bottom line? We ended up losing $600 and had no tile to show for it. While Classic Tile will no doubt resell the tile and lose nothing on the deal. We finally bought different tile from another store and completed the job. So beware...Classic Tile does not stand behind its products. If there's a mistake, you'll pay for it, not them. I will NEVER shop there again. read more

Before finding CTM, buying tile for our major remodel was the worst and most stressful part of the project. Walking into CTM, you will find a expansive selection, a laid back feel, and a helpful staff--especially my guy, Cyrus. Cyrus was patient, guided me to a couple of options I wouldn't normally have considered, and helped me fix a snafu when we hadn't ordered enough tile. He helped me stay within our budget while picking absolutely beautiful tile. CTM will forever be my first stop for any other future projects, and they will be my first recommendation to friends. read more
