Tumbled stones, raw stones, old friends (look for the massive amethyst geode and put your hand in and say hello), and unique items hard to find elsewhere. The prices are fair for the quality you'll find here. I've never had to feel overwhelmed pricing wise here and often find myself wanting to buy more once I get started. This trip was to introduce my grandson to crystals and a way to bring someone so young the joy of the universe around us. And he loved this place. I can't wait to come back and bathe in the stores energy and enjoy a conversation and find something new to bring home!

As a frequent visitor from the Bay Area, I have frequented this shop every time I've come to Reno…read more My first disappointment occurred when my husband discovered the grape agate I purchased a year ago had been dyed purple. Today was my second disappointment. I purchased a crystal that was advertised as "Natural Citrine...Madagascar". When I brought it back to our hotel, my husband who is way more versed than me in crystals informed me it was likely quartz that had been fired on a kiln rather than naturally heated over a very long period of time by natural forces. I called and asked if I could return it without a receipt and was told I could. The woman I spoke with on the phone was very rude when I came into the store. She changed her story and said items were only exchangeable without a receipt. I said I did not know that and would have appreciated it if she had told me that on the phone. She responded, "well now you know". She told me the owner made a one time exception. I'm done. I have spent hundreds of dollars at this store. Not the thousands some spend, but I looked forward to visiting it every time I came to Reno. The lack of honesty about some of the products as well as this woman's blatant rudeness have put an end to my patronage. RIP to my years long relationship with Stone Age Quarry.

Whenever I'm in Reno, I always stop by and look at their hand wired crystal necklaces and new crystals! I have one in almost every color by now ANDD I don't feel bad because I'm supporting a local business. The "bang for your buck" is totally worth it. They do community events, scavenger hunts, giveaways, collaborations, reiki sessions to sound baths and MORE. They're LGBTQ+ friendly and love the community. I mean really...WHO ELSE is doing this?! She was very friendly and spoke kindly about my kids in the store. We were worried about shop workers not wanting kids in such stores, but she eased our concerns. I didn't plan on purchasing anything, but I saw the most beautiful royal blue labradorite jewelry displayed and fell in love instantly. I've never really consider such stone, but this was the first time in all the random gem/jewelry shops I've been where I've seen such a lovely color. Most labradorite jewelry pieces I've seen have a mixture of colors that can include warm colors. She also wore a beautiful large labradorite pendant alongside a moonstone pendant necklace and showcased how beautiful it would look worn. She even gave us a discount on the listed price. She was patient in showing me all the different pieces, until I settled on a cuff. It was very well made and has a beautiful bright blue flash. She even let me take it just outside of the store front door to check the flash in sunlight. She told me that they also make custom jewelry, where I can always come back and pick out stones and settings and they can make it for me. She offered my kids to pick from a large selection of small stones/gems and painted rocks for free. She was also very patient in my kids taking their time deciding on which one to chose and gave them a cute baggie to keep their chosen rock/gem in. I included photos of my beautiful piece. I tried to showcase the piece without the flash of a beautiful blue labradorite and with the flash when it catches light.
