Extremely nice man who was fair on the pricing with me. It's the reason that we enjoy bringing family out here too when they come and visit. This store is not "just a gift store", it's a treasure seekers, antique hunter, and a pickers #1 pick. The lady who may be the owner was outright friendly, accommodating, and not one who chases and spies on you. She outwardly offers to discount and then discounts without asking! I walked through it all, most I assume to be a hefty collection of rented "booths" and maybe some consignment. I'll need to come back again, as each antique store visit is just one layer of the onion. The antique wares were well organized throughout, although with differences in display density. There was a pleasant atmosphere in the store, both from staff and all the curious folks like me taking it all in. The husband of a friend used to be an antique dealer and he often talked about collection cycles and people age out and their treasures move on. I thought of that as I perused and sometimes admired an impressive collection of "stuff" that were previously special to their previous owners, and would someday be again.

The staff is always friendly, kind, and they are always willing to unlock and open cases for you to look at things that you're interested in. I've been here a few times while I was in the neighborhood. 3 factors make me hesitant to come back. 1. The political flags. Folks have the right to state or display their opinion, but I'm not big on people shoving it in your face, regardless of viewpoint. It's certainly an interesting business model to drive some folks that maybe they didn't want around anyway. 2. A reputation of existing outside the Genoa both geographically and in terms of community support and involvement. 3. I love going into antique places and its an individual thing when you're trying to decide "trash or treasure?". I've found neither category here, but rather a mushy middle that's easy to move on to something else. These are my own biased opinions, and folks are more than welcome to see and experience things for themselves.
