As a frequent visitor from the Bay Area, I have frequented this shop every time I've come to Reno. My first disappointment occurred when my husband discovered the grape agate I purchased a year ago had been dyed purple. Today was my second disappointment. I purchased a crystal that was advertised as "Natural Citrine...Madagascar". When I brought it back to our hotel, my husband who is way more versed than me in crystals informed me it was likely quartz that had been fired on a kiln rather than naturally heated over a very long period of time by natural forces. I called and asked if I could return it without a receipt and was told I could. The woman I spoke with on the phone was very rude when I came into the store. She changed her story and said items were only exchangeable without a receipt. I said I did not know that and would have appreciated it if she had told me that on the phone. She responded, "well now you know". She told me the owner made a one time exception. I'm done. I have spent hundreds of dollars at this store. Not the thousands some spend, but I looked forward to visiting it every time I came to Reno. The lack of honesty about some of the products as well as this woman's blatant rudeness have put an end to my patronage. RIP to my years long relationship with Stone Age Quarry.

They always tell you that if you need some comforting wisdom and solace, go find a rock! Well, this is the place to find many rocks - big and small - with thousands of choices to bring your peace that much closer to your spirit. Stone Age has been around for many years and it's no wonder - they're friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about their locally sourced and fair trade sourced items from across the globe! Tumbled stones, raw stones, old friends (look for the massive amethyst geode and put your hand in and say hello), and unique items hard to find elsewhere. The prices are fair for the quality you'll find here. I've never had to feel overwhelmed pricing wise here and often find myself wanting to buy more once I get started. This trip was to introduce my grandson to crystals and a way to bring someone so young the joy of the universe around us. And he loved this place. I can't wait to come back and bathe in the stores energy and enjoy a conversation and find something new to bring home!

Absolutely adore this place! Every visit in there's something new to find and the staff is extremely knowledgeable about all the varied stones and gems to be found within. Picked up several new items today and very excited to add them to my current collection. They offer very reasonable prices of all the places in town and are great at recommending items based on your needs and wants. Definitely recommend checking out Stone Age Quarry!

Be still my crystal loving heart!! I finally took the time to pop in here before going into Costco...and I'm so glad I did! This store has rows upon rows of beautiful crystals, rocks and jewelry, etc. There is something for everyone here and their prices are very reasonable, and less than other shops around town. Quality and great prices! Staff is super knowledgable and the store is clean and well organized. I've purchased a number of items here, but my favorite are the Rose Quartz Gua Sha stones. I love my crystal newbies, and will always look here first, before shopping anywhere else in Reno.

The Reno Stone Age Quarry is my absolute favorite place to get crystals, minerals, rocks, and fossils! The best part of the store in my opinion is the glass cases with the small pieces. All pieces are labeled very clearly and each type has a variety of colors and shapes to choose from. A word of advice: always go with your first instinct when choosing ;) The workers are always very nice and patient with me as I stand there asking them to take out and put back 1000 things :) most of them seem to genuinely enjoy helping and seem to love their job. I had this very sweet lady today who had such interesting facts about each crystal / rock I was looking at. For those hunting for jade, aquamarine, or super purple amethyst go now! Above all, the prices just can't be beat. I have been to probably 30 stores like this throughout California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona. Stone Age Reno has them all beat with prices.

    Amethyst cathedral

After more than 30 years, I finally bought an amethyst cathedral. It was a big deal for me, my hands were shaky, and the woman helping me went the extra mile to box up the beautiful geologic specimen! I have been a customer at Stone Age for nearly 20 years, but I have never bought such a big ticket item. They made it easy, secure... and, dare I say it? Maybe I'll buy more?! Of course I will. This is a great ship. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. A great, clean, understanding environment. I also have two boys that sometimes can't help themselves, even with our intervention: they put all the magnetite together, with nary a complaint from the staff: thank you!!!

Such a cool find! We daughter is really into rocks and crystals right now and we were so excited when we found this store. The selection is HUGE and the prices are very reasonable. They even gave us some printed information on each stone we purchased detailing the properties it has. We will be back!

I just wanna start this off with just how safe and at home I always feel in this uplifting and positive environment that this little store has. I never see a faces without masks and yet you can always hear the smiles in their voices. The wonderful friendly customer service always makes you feel comfortable and they are always willing to answer questions. They have pretty reasonable prices ranging from the cutest little pocket and tumbled stones to big magnificent towers and giant geodes.

Such a beautiful store with staff that is very thorough in packaging your items. Informative and helpful. Fair prices. There is also another location in Virginia City and it's wonderful having one so close.

Whether you're…read moreseriously shopping, ready to upgrade, or simply browsing, you'll be treated with the same level of professionalism with their expertise. I was first referred to Kenny G's by a friend who had a custom ring made there, and he told me it was the best place to go. He was absolutely right. I first started looking for engagement rings back in 2022. The team took the time to sit down with me and walk me through every detail that mattered--from diamond clarity and sizing to the differences between natural and lab-grown diamonds. I quickly realized there was so much more to selecting a ring than I ever knew. Even though I wasn't ready to make a purchase at the time, they carefully documented all of my preferences and created a file for me. Fast forward four years later, when my fiancé and I were finally ready for this chapter of our lives, they still had all of my information on file. Not only did that make the process seamless, but it showed me how much they genuinely value their customers and relationships. If you're working with a tight timeline, they can even provide a temporary ring to wear while your custom piece is being crafted. My ring was completed in about 2-3 months, and it was absolutely worth the wait. I've visited several other jewelry stores over the years, and one thing that sets Kenny G's apart is how they treat people. There is no pressure, no snobbery, and none of the attitude that can sometimes be found in luxury retail. Every customer is treated with kindness, respect, and genuine attention, whether they're making a purchase that day or simply exploring their options. I never felt like just another customer or window shopper--I felt like a valued guest. That's a rare experience these days, and it's why I continue to recommend Kenny G's to all of my friends and family

With near daily wear of one of the rings, it has not tarnished or discolored, the stone has not budged in it's bezel. It is excellent quality! I continued to follow Allison on Instagram and was super excited when she posted about silver smithing classes to make jewelry pieces. I reached out in February and asked if she would host a private ring making party for my birthday and it was an instant yes. We picked the date and time and I gave her the guest list. We (and my 5 girl friends for a party of 6) met April 17 at her studio at 515-530 (we trickled in) and were instructed to fill out a waiver and then pick our stones and find our ring size using her ring size key chain thing (very similar to those at jewelry stores). She then walked us through step by step to make the rings. She broke the instructions down into 3 sections and each section had a handful of steps in them. After giving them, she hung out at the soldering (sautering) station as fire can be very dangerous, and we don't want to over melt the metal. Allison was quick and available to answer questions or use her muscle to bend the stubborn thick metal for the band of the ring. I am impressed with how much oomph it takes to get the ring to come close together so it solders well! My friends and I had an absolute blast making our rings. I know I love mine and will probably make this a yearly tradition! I may take some of her other jewelry making classes and see if I can make a matching necklace and earring set to my ring!

Had a great time making rings with friends. Will definitely do this again. Cant wait to take my…read moredaughter here.
