We came here and had lunch on a Sunday on our way out of town after spending the weekend in Houchitown. This place did not disappoint. I had the 2 meat plate which consisted of Sliced brisket, smoked sausage with potato salad and coleslaw. The meat was FANTASTIC!!!!! The potato salad was so different but yet so good!!! I wasn't really a fan of the coleslaw. It was different and just not for me. I'm pretty sure the owner is who waited on us. He was a super chill dude. He even gave us a sample of some spicy pickles he'd been working on. Those puppies were VERY spicy but good and again very different. Give this place a try!! My husband got a pulled pork sandwich with green beans and I got the Bottom Dweller with chopped brisket....this was by FAR my favorite place in Hochatown! Their smoked potato salad is served warm and is a mash up between traditional warm potato salad, a loaded baked potato, and scalloped potatoes. The brisket on top was like the icing on the cake. The best BBQ I've ever had! Try the Bottom Dweller: a layer of their famous smoked potato salad with your choice of meat on top. I had the pulled pork - amazing! We also had pecan cobbler, another wonderful surprise! We went in for coffee, but Bryan hooked us in! Gave us tastes of the potato salad and pulled pork. We ate there 3 times over our 4 day stay! I had high hopes! A BBQ place in OK. I got the sliced brisket sandwich and my husband got a meat plate. The first bite was good, but went downhill from there. My #1 way to judge a BBQ place is to check the brisket. If the main course isn't up to par, then the rest is usually the same. Most of the brisket was smoky, but tough and dry. Ribs were ok. The Mac and cheese was a little runny. The potato salad was warm and a little different, but tasty. Being from Texas, we are SO spoiled to the best Q in the world! Service was very good. We have high standards coming from Fort Worth and the place didn't disappoint. Good atmosphere. Had a warehouse feel. Loud music for lunch is great for having a 2 year old. I hate to do this but ugh it was terrible! I got a simple brisket sandwich and the bun was hard. Not hard like toasted but hard like stale. I ended up removing the bun and just eating the brisket, which was not a lot of meat. The staff was also not friendly. They acted inconvenienced by me even being there. Nobody said anything when I walked in and then the guy at the front just stared at me saying nothing. We selected this because it was close to where we were and had good ratings. Sorry to say it was fair at best. Had sliced brisket and sausage plate and brisket seemed like it was simmered in a liquid, sausage was cold and like a kielbasa type sausage. Coleslaw had a seasoned salt taste and the beans were the only hot thing served. They were good along with their regular sauce. Guys were nice but food was not so good. read more

We heard their commercial while listening to the football game on the radio, realized this place was right down the road from our campsite. My husband had hot links, smoked potato salad and Mac and cheese, I had the Q pie, a play on Frito chili pie made with BBQ. Wow.... it was delicious! I figured since we were a stones throw from the border, it couldn't be that bad. Well, I like a good smoke to the meat and both my chicken and brisket were lacking that smokey flavor I enjoy. The meat itself was tough, like it had been sitting under a heat lamp. The flavor was just meh, nothing to write home about. My boyfriend said out of everything his pulled pork was the best. The moonshine BBQ sauce was good. Kind of the redeeming factor of the whole meal. We also got the smoked potato salad which had a great flavor but seemed to be swimming in oil. The green beans were pretty good, but, my mac and cheese was pretty bland. Needed a better blend of cheeses. I am a fan of breadcrumb on top of my mac and cheese for a bit of contrast in texture. This was pretty boring. I wanted to like it. Maybe it was just an off day . **Side note, no bread was offered with the meal. Almost all BBQ places offer white bread. Every time we come to Broken Bow we have made this restaurant a must to eat at along with Grateful Head. The potato salad here is the best my wife and I have ever had! No ifs, ands or buts. Man what a disappointment, was in town and being from Texas and accustomed to REAL BBQ had to try out the local bbq, this place had 5 star reviews, pulled into driveway and were no cars, (should've been first clue) ordered the q pie and bbq pizza for $26 and what a pile of SLOP, Cold dry bbq, waitress blamed it on the new cook, and offered to buy our breakfast the next day. Great choice!! Nice and clean! Great Location!! We had 2 two meat plates, 1 one meat plate and one rib plate. My grandson said the ribs were great. The sliced beef just fell a part as I was eating it. Tried all different sauces all were very good, but I must say the Smoked potato salad was awesome, not sure how it's made but I wished I would've got some more to go. So much disappointment here. The food has gotten so bad. Pulled pork was all fat and was horrible in flavor, green beans had no flavor at all, and the Mac and cheese was basically over cooked noodles in yellow water sauce from the microwave. On top of that there was mold dripping out of the ice machine! We ate here almost two years ago the day prior to my wedding and it was awesome! The owner was there serving and food was excellent. We know good barbecue and this is NOT worthy of even being called good or barbecue. Highly suggest avoiding this establishment. read more
