This was our first time working with Mark Falvo. All arrangements were put in order, so we thought. When my Sister, Father, and I, entered the Fairport facility for our private viewing, we discovered that Mark Falvo had switched our viewing room from a large , airy viewing room to facilitate a large crowd of visitors, to a viewing room , separated by wall dividers. When we approached him about this upsetting matter, he gave a sound and dance about the large amount of guests the other family would expect? Never contacting us to alert us to the respective change! After observing the room we had requested , it was easy to surmise that the family had selected a 8-12K casket . This was clearly deliberate on the part of Mark Falvo, catering to the deep pockets of this customer . In addition, we were left with a viewing room, half the size of what we required. It was overcrowded, and uncomfortable for us! Yo add insult to injury, he had booked another client on the other side of the dividers. That family was having an Irish funeral as it were. We were sickened by an event that was heart wrenching to BEGIN WITH. It tore us up. All for the almighty $$! Buyer beware, Mark Falvo is a disgrace to his family name!

When we walked into the funeral parlor we were overwhelmed with emotion as they they had collected pictures from all of our family and had them beautifully displayed all around the room and in a slide show. They also took the initiative to make a guest book that had photos in it, golf cards customized to my grandfather as he was an avid golfer, and honored his service to the Rochester Fire Department with cards that even had the engine that he drove on it. Shawn and his team ensured that no detail was missed. They were extremely supportive and attentive to our families every need and honored my grandfathers life in a way that I could have never imagined. He has yet to accept responsibility for his crooked thievery actions. What a shame? Shame on Shawn for taking advantage of people while grieving. Who needs additional stress in their lives. Avoid the stress, lies, and trips to court and do business with another funeral home/director in Rochester & Syracuse, New York. I'm writing this review on behalf of an immediate family member; I have witnessed the lack of transparency and communication on part of Memories Funeral Home staff and the owner. The only communication that existed was when I initiated contact. I've been lied to on several occasions. A local Faith Base Initiative was willing to provide financial assistance. The Faith Base Initiative told me that the funeral and burial could occur while Memories was waiting for the payment in the form of a voucher. Memories was unwilling to wait and offered to conduct the funeral, and hold on to my relative's remains until they received the entire balance. I managed to secure the payment and paid the balance in full. Memories has been overpaid, and I'm still waiting on a refund 10 months later. Please do your research, there are other funeral homes that provide professional and less stressful business dealings. If you decide to do business with Memories, have all your documentation together. Get everything in writting. If it was possible to rate them 0 stars, I would have gladly done so. Unfortunately, 1 star is the lowest you can rate them. I will add pics later on. UPDATE reimbursement check finally received on 10/14/25. I thought this day would never occur!
