I never write reviews but Rochelle is absolutely incredible. I have curly hair that I didn't know how to take care of and that no one ever knew how to cut in a way that looks great until Rochelle! She taught me how to take care of my hair - recommended books, products, and talked me through the different ways she can cut my hair to its benefit. She is all about giving you your money's worth by teaching you about upkeep. For example, when she cut bangs for me she walked me through how I could cut them on my own if I can't make it into the salon and was quite patient as I wrote it all out and asked questions. As a person who has had bad experiences with having my hair cut I like to ask questions to know what's going on and Rochelle does a great job of talking me through what she's doing as she cuts. She's also great about talking to you before the cut and getting an idea of what you like and need in a hair cut. She understands shapes and accenting features. She even recommended somewhere I could get my hair cut when I moved away but I love her so much that I try to schedule appointments during visits home! It was a sad day when I had to leave my hair stylist in Pittsburgh (I know what you're thinking. Pittsburgh? Not exactly known for its hair...other than the mullet. But this guy was awesome.). I went through a number of stylists in the city before meeting Rochelle. I went to some of the "top" salons (i.e. "expensive") but nobody really "got" me. I have somewhat curly hair and it's always been a challenge to find somebody that could cut my hair in a style that I could wear either wavy or blow dry straight. But Rochelle totally got me...and my hair! She is an amazing stylist and works magic with color. Can't tell you how many people compliment me on my color. She also did my hair for my wedding and did a fabulous job. I think one of her biggest strengths is that she doesn't get insulted or put off if I ask her to make any changes to the cut. I have been getting my hair done by Rochelle for a really long time. She's the only one I trust with my hair and I am always happy with it whenever she does it. She saved me when I accidentally dyed my hair purple and it faded to a terrible looking auburn. Might I add, I am blonde. I just recently had the keratin treatment done by her. I've only had it for a couple days but I already love it. A lot of the brands of keratin treatment are not good for you but the brand she uses is by far the best. It washes out before you leave you salon so you don't have anything in your hair for however long most keratin treatments say. So if anyone has unmanageable hair that they want relaxed or even straighter, try this! It's great. Rochelle is definitely the only person that I will trust with my hair. She never goes against what you ask her to do unless she thinks something with look better on you. When it comes to hairdressers, I'm pretty picky. After I moved to Chicago, I'd schedule business trips back to Miami every six weeks to get my hair colored and cut. Recognizing that was not sustainable, I asked co-workers with similar hair "challenges" as mine who they went to... three of them said, "ROCHELLE!" and enthusiastically hooked me up. "This Woman Changed My Life!!" and I'm being absolutely serious. (5 stars are not enough for what she did for me~) Like other girls in yelp, I love her soooo much! I moved to Chicago after college and started a job in Advertising / Public Relations consulting. Frankly, I'm not good at styling but in my job, being "modern" is VERY important. She was the one to give me a makeover. EVERY TIME I had a haircut with her (which is in the past 2 years), there will be endless praises for my beautiful haircut. She listens to me while I have a "direction," but gives me best suggestions to actually bring out my beauty. After I met Rochelle, I couldn't trust my hair with any other people. Again, I have the most beautiful hair! I can not even explain how much I love how she colors. I have blonde hair and people always want to make it too warm and I like when it is a little cool. IOn the way to the train I had two people stop me and tell me how much they LOVED my hair...and ask where I get it done. Rochelle has just moved into a new space and I love her new place. The owner is the sweetest man EVER. I felt so comfortable going to the new place and sometimes when your hair dresser moves you love them but feel uncomfortable in the new salon so not the case here. Rochelle has been my hair stylist for the past 7 years. I have never gone to anyone else since I found her. She knows her craft like no other person I've ever found. I trust her professional opinion and always recommend her without reservation to anyone looking for someone to do their make-up or hair. I follow Rochelle anywhere she goes. She's been cutting my hair for almost seven years and I wouldn't have it any other way. Rochelle is fantastic! When I just want to update my cut and color, I say "fix this." And she does, beautifully. When I want to try something new, I explain what I want or show her a few pictures and she takes that into consideration while she does what looks good on ME. She has a refined, modern aesthetic, and her techniques and style ideas are constantly being updated and energized by attending many artist's workshops and shows. I love that I can sit in Rochelle's chair, have a great time laughing and chatting and know that because she listens to what I need and want from my hair, whatever style she chooses (I always let her decide) is going to be perfect for me. I have always been afraid of color, but Rochelle has made me a convert! Now, I get so many complements on my hair throughout the stages of a cut. I didn't know my hair could do what Rochelle made it do. i've had the same hairstyle of 40 years, since I got out of the Army.
