Roche Bobois - Furniture Stores Near Me - San Francisco, California

It took 9 (NINE) years to respond to my review. Think of how much further your reply could've taken you, had you taken this "into consideration" (& actually *apologized* earlier? I tried giving Roche Bobois a second chance when my dying dog unknowingly marked my $3000.00 coffee table. I brought it in to see if you knew of a place to repair it. I was shocked that a coffee table of that price, that looked so much like cement, was in fact PRESS WOOD!! (A $3000.00 cube of particle board) The salesman who had helped me, gave attitude and turned me away.- saying they wouldn't assist me with such an inquiry. It was the first, & last piece I will ever purchase from your organization. And yet you still send me your catalogue like it's 1982. In the end - know this: everything that glitters isn't gold. In fact, at Roche Bobois it's probably particle board. They don't give a crap about their sales team, as you clearly see it took them nearly a DECADE to respond. And not an apology in sight. AVOID this business and spend your money on QUALITY goods at a company who actually cares AFTER you tap your credit card!! read more

Still one star for me. I finally got a partial refund for the bed mishap that spanned over 13 months. I had forgotten that I had bought the bedframe on an end of summer 15% sale until the manager Mauricio told me that he will refund me 30% TOTAL. What he meant was that he would only take another 15% off the ORIGINALLY priced bed. So the bottom line is, the manager only gave me a 15% partial refund on the bedframe that I had bought already on a 15% sale. Is this really how business should be? Pretty sleazy in my opinion, I took the offer because it was better than Trudi, the sales rep who originally processed my order, ghosting me. DO NOT BUY FROM ROCHE BOBOIS!! I understand all businesses were hit hard by the pandemic (I'm also in sales), but this is totally unacceptable and shady business dealing. read more

I've been eyeing this store for many many years and Hannah Kim was so helpful to us during whole interior design process of our new home. Hannah was very knowledgeable and gave us several rendering of furnitures in our space and that was big help to make all the right decisions. We have the furnitures now and they are spectacular!!! Furnitures are sleek and modern. Very good quality and multifunctional. World Class service and products!!! Cheers~ read more

I was working with an interior designer for my new home because of strange angles in my living room and realized that she was planning on designing a terribly expensive custom couch without quality materials for fill and fabric, etc. I was so frustrated after paying her a fortune and not having control or transparency in the process. I came to Roche Bobois and worked with Hanna. She helped me pick out and design (fabrics and colors) a beautiful couch. The cadd renderings she sent me were so helpful to help me visual see scale. It took awhile (6 months) but the result was worth the wait. So comfortable, luxurious and so much less than the interior designer was planning to charge me with so much less inconvenience. I m very happy. read more

Trust, Integrity Matters. We ordered two swivel chairs from Roche Bobois. Unfortunately, we had several glitches that proved to be frustrating. Hannah Kim was our sales representative. Fortunately for us, Hannah was consistently responsive to our concerns and determined to make it right. The chairs were a big investment for us, and we were quite worried about the ultimate outcome. Hannah proved to be unfailingly gracious, listened, and was thoroughly fair-minded. She made sure that our order came out properly, and we are delighted with our final product. In a time when so often businesses do not take responsibility errors or for good customer service, our experience with Hannah and Roche Bobois was a positive one, and we are most grateful to Hannah for facilitating a positive outcome. Thank you Hannah! Thank you Roche Bobois! read more

Amazing furniture porn (tm gil). Bought a floor sample here on clearance, the only time anything is under le fuckton dollars or le 6 month wait. It's incredible stuff though. At least you can feel comfortable stepping inside without an appointment and/or professional interior designer in tow unlike many of the design district boutiques. Their new space has a weird address. They are on the 600 block of Townsend but they managed to call themselves 701 8th which nothing maps properly. Why. Address prestige? You're still a block from the train yard, buddy. read more

That map is truly awful. The store is at 8th & Townsend St where that traffic circle is, about 2 1/2 block south down 8th from where the map is pointing to. And if you click on the map it points one block further away!! That's the extent of my review because I can't afford sh*t at this place. I just walk around glassy eyed drooling at the furniture. Just wanted to correct the map issue for all you folks who can afford their stuff. Don't want you driving around lost in SOMA!! read more

I've been working with Hannah for several years and can't say enough great words about her. Very passionate, professional, friendly, has a fantastic sense of style. Roche Bobois is definitely my favorite furniture place ever! Showroom is very spacious, one of the best furniture showrooms, with various of collections of different kinds of furnitures. Compared to those pure by famous designer designed expensive furnitures, Roche Bobois is not as expensive as those places, but really has awesome designs with awesome quality that we can feel by both looking and feeling. Love their couches! All different kinds of "movable" and "flexible" sofa that we can rarely find anywhere else. Mah Jong collection is crazy, I really wish I could find some house it can fit in perfectly!! :) Chairs are another category I like from this place, as well as many different styles of lights... People working there are very friendly helping you introducing and finding the stuff to your needs. Always very warm and helpful. If you want pure designer design, maybe you want to check out Limn or Dzine, but if you want something nice, classy, and practical AND If you have the budget, THIS IS the place to go to make a modern and classy home! read more

We purchased several pieces of furniture from RB and Hannah Kim was the design consultant who helped us. She came to our residence (this was pre-Covid) to make sure the pieces would work well with the rooms we had in mind. After purchase and delivery, we had a few issues with the product and each time, Hannah helped us patiently and diligently. She is wonderful to work with and the store delivery crew was always courteous and professional. read more

I can't say enough positive things about our experience with Roche Bobois. We had the pleasure of working with Brady Chardukian and he is a total pro and really cares that what you purchase you love. He knows the Roche Bobois products and operations inside and out and is incredibly helpful. He was very patient with us as we worked through trying to create a modular design with our couch that fit the space--and needed to navigate some timing challenges on our end so the logistics mattered. The couch is gorgeous--exactly as we ordered, impeccable quality--it came perfectly despite over 6 months of storage at the RB warehouse in SF. The delivery team was also amazingly professional. They wore masks, took great care not to damage our floors/walls and executed flawlessly. It was obvious they cared about how it looked in the space and were very kind to work with us to get it just right. Based on our experience, we would buy all our furniture from Brady and the Roche Bobois team in the future! read more

For what their pillows cost, someone should've given me a lookbook or a guided tour of this place. Listen, for a pillow north of $400, you're still making a sale. Instead a rep told me, "the pillows are just scattered all over." He basically told me to take a walk.... So I walked around and walked out. Is their design that great? Most of the stuff makes me think, "HAZEL IS SO HOT RIGHT NOW." read more

Rocky start that was turned around into a fabulous customer experience +++ ........ and the person who made our day is Brady ! 1) I agree with most comments that the initial customer engagement when you walk into the store isn't always the best/warmest. But you are the customer and can make it work/be in control. When I didn't like the less than enthusiastic attitude of a particular sales person, I told her that I won't do business with her and why. She brought in another employee and from then on I had a pleasant and productive sales encounter. Yes, Brady made it work for me and my wife. 2) Fast forward 6 months later. The beautiful couch arrives in our home, but I realize that the pieces don't fit together as perfectly as I would have wanted. There were some gaps between the cushions and the back side wasn't flush between two sections. I took a few pics, sent them to Brady and asked him to check with the factory whether those tolerances are normal. Brady comes out to our house, inspects it himself and assures me he will talk to factory. 3) A week later, Brady calls. He and the factory want 100% customer satisfaction and a new couch is already on order. I should enjoy the one I have for now and use it as I please...... now that is customer focus. 4) Another 3 months pass and today I received my brand new, perfectly fitting couch. Not only did it fit perfectly, Brady had also pre-inspected and assembled it in their warehouse before shipping it to me. NOW THAT IS CUSTOMER FOCUS !!! Brady, great job. I will continue to be a loyal customer. read more

To the reviewer who stated you can get the same quality and design at Ligne Roset-- this is not true. I know, I have poured over high end furniture in SF and NY over the past 6 months. I have spent hours touching fabrics and checking sofas and beds from all angles. Ligne Roset has some nice pieces, but Roche Bobois surpasses Ligne, for sure. Room&Board--Ligne Roset--Roche Bobois--Limn. That's the hierarchy. I decided on 2 leather sofas from Roche Bobois for our Philly abode. They are simply gorgeous. Ask for Brady; he's super helpful. read more

You guys got an amazing staff there in SF branch! Hannah Kim helped us select the sectional sofa to replace the one we got 20 years ago from the same branch. Because it was a sectional, there was a lot of back and forth to make sure we got the right size and set up. It didn't help that we changed our mind a couple of times and got confused in our own little design. Hannah was super patient and really really helpful by suggesting options that would work best for our settings. Our sectional sofa arrived and fit perfectly in our living space. read more

Are you kidding me. The service at this place is awful. The whole point of paying ridiculous prices on anything is the expectation of hands-on service---not here. btw---even if the service was awesome, you can find the same quality and design aesthetics for half the price (just check ligne roset). read more

We purchased a leather recliner from RB in a light grey color. The day after it arrived we noticed a significant stain on one section and narrowed it down to the leather belt my husband was wearing (somehow the leather belt had left dark brown streaks on the grey leather). We tried a recommended leather cleaner with no results and a local leather shop told us they would have to refinish the leather to remove the stain and that it will no longer match the rest of the couch. We contacted Hannah and she arranged for the seat to be picked up and cleaned by their experts. The seat came back yesterday as good as new. We're so grateful that Hannah was able to offer us this service and at no charge. read more

I wrote a really negative review a few months ago, and I don't know if the review made a difference, but in the months since, Roche Bobois, specifically the store's new manager, Mauricio, has come through. He made the decision to REPLACE our broken sofa, not continue to try to repair it. I am unbelievably impressed with Mauricio: professional, responsive, kind, fair. Most of the negative reviews I've seen here have to do with customer service. I have a feeling that, with Mauricio now running things, San Francisco Roche Bobois customers are going to be much, much happier. In my previous review I vowed to never purchase from Roche Bobois again. Will have to go back on that promise :-) read more

This store has some of my favorite furniture but the prices are truly outrageous. My favorite sofa - made of big pillows - was twenty thousand dollars. Yesterday, I found a lovely kids bedroom set for a mere eighteen thousand. We did get a "discount" during their rare clearance event, but the items were still quite pricey. Limn furniture gallery is still pricier on average, I think, but Limn's pieces are more unique and the range of options is much greater. The new RB location is just across the street from the old one. read more

I am thrilled with my new Roche-Bobois sofa. I recommend Brady Chardukian as the Design Consultant at Roche-Bobois in San Francisco at 701 8th Street. I had a great time buying furniture at Roche. i enjoy very much working with Brady ( very professional & extremely handsome !!!) we really don't look like the rich or fancy type of people...we're very ordinary & the minute we got into the store everyone we spoke to was nice & help full. Brady always calls to update me about sales & even left the store OPEN after hour es (!!!!!) Brady is the BEST !!! so knowledgeable & always calls to find out if we're happy , and if he can help in anyway. .they'll go out of the way to promise a smile on your face. about the prices - what can I say - sometimes you have to pay in order to get the BEST. from my experience - in the end of the day - cheep become more expensive. I must tell you that a friend on ours checked the same sectional that we end up buying in Europe - guess what - it was more expensive !! enjoy ! :) read more

Anyone who is looking for attention to design, high quality fabrics is in the right place. If you are looking for a "deal" go to ikea you will get what you pay for (nothing wrong with that...) I'm very pleased with the staff interaction with clients as you are left to browse casually without a sales person shadowing you,. I highly recommend Joe Vincent as he was attentive, and provided key input on our final selections. read more

What a great experience when you walk into a store and feel welcome, great quality, awesome designs excellent customer service. bought two recliners three years ago, we love our super comfortable recliners they're worth every penny still look as we just got them. it's very unusual in these days to see the same people in a retail store after three years. we took advantage of the new year sale and bought a gorgeous floor lamp. It's amazing to me when there are five people (designers/sales) all sitting at their desks not even acknowledging that a customer has entered the store, not getting up to greet me, nor saying "Welcome, may I help you?" Then to walk around and see that one was on their computer in a chat room and another watching YouTube was infuriating. I have bought tens of thousands of dollars worth of Roche Bobois products over the past few years, in New York and Washington, DC where customer service is exemplified, but in San Francisco, sales must not be a priority. If I were management, I would truly be embarrassed. read more

Walked in twice and had the same experience both times. Last was yesterday. Guy was sitting at desk. No hello. Looked up. I was bothering him. Described what I was looking for and in an annoying voice told me that all furniture could be ordered in any size. He didn't budge. Went back to whatever he was doing at the desk. No service. There wasn't a customer in the store and he made every effort to be dismissive and condescending. read more

We have been looking for a sofa for a long time. When we walked into this store and saw the sofa we immediately liked it and ordered it. We got it in time in the time period promised. We were told that they would do their own inspection and then deliver it to us with white glove service. The delivery was great the look of the sofa was great from a distance. But the cushions were bumpy and the edges of the cushions were droopy. In a couple of places the seat cushions did not give proper support. Roche Bobois picked it up. They first added more filling to the cushions and asked us to come and check it out before they delivered it to us. They were only available on weekdays for us to do this so my husband drove out to the city during his lunch to check it out. He found that the cushions had been fixed but the support issue was still there. Apparently the repair person had added more stuffing to the cushions. For the support issue they sent the sofa to another repair shop. The guy could not find anything wrong so Hannah asked us if we could go over to the shop to show him our issue. Again the shop was only open on weekdays. This time however, they were nice enough to allow us to come on the weekend. We drove to Oakland to show the repair person the issue. The shop was dirty and our expensive sofa was sitting directly on the dirty floor. He apparently had been looking for lack of support on the edges but the issue was in the middle of the sofa. When we showed him the issue he understood our complaint.. The next week we were told that the sofa had been fixed and if we could please again go and check it before they deliver it to us. My husband wanted to find out what was fixed. The repair person told us that he had opened up the sofa and found that the support straps were loose so he tightened them. These for us were basic issues that should have been done right at the factory or caught in their own inspection. At this point, since the sofa had been pretty much opened up and fixed outside of the factory, we did not want it any more. For the money we paid for this and buying it from such a high end store we expected a lot more. So we asked for a refund. That week Hannah said she was going on vacation so we did not hear back for a week. When Hannah came back she told us the manager would follow up with us early the following week. We again did not hear back for a week so I followed up the week after and was told that the manager was out of town and would return the next week and after talking to him we would get our refund. So three weeks after our request for a refund we got a rude email back telling us that since we continue to find issues with their best selling sofa which are very minor and have been fixed, Roche Bobois and we had irreconcilable differences and it was not the right brand for us. So they are going to take the sofa back and give us a refund. This I feel was very unprofessional of them. read more

Hannah is a goddess! Brilliant with design and very customer-oriented. I'm very picky and anal retentive and she promptly replied to all emails and addressed all my concerns! It takes a while for the pieces to arrive, but that's expected given this is high-end furniture. I'll be sure to write a follow up when the sectional arrives! Thanks, Hannah! read more

My absolute favorite place for furniture by far. Yes it's a little pricey, but the quality and service makes it all worth it. There's no better feeling than me coming home, kicking off my shoes, and relaxing on my Roche-Bobois leather sofa. Some people ask "why not BB Italia or Ligne Roset" which also have nice furniture, but they dont have Hannah as a consultant. She's the absolute BEST! I never feel pressured into buying anything, but do feel educated whenever I'm in. I really appreciate the high level of service I receive when I work with Hannah and look forward to working with her and adding to my collection year after year. read more

I bought a sofa from Roche Bobois a few months ago. Although their sofas are a bit pricey, the quality and the style is top of the market. Working with Hannah was quite a pleasant experience, too. She makes all the right recommendations for you, and she is neither too aggressive nor indifferent/arrogant, which makes her a rare gem to encounter in high-end furniture stores in SF. read more

Wonderful, classy, well built furniture built to last and high priced to match. But the sales and pricing policies: unclear and ultimately dishonest. You'd think a high end furniture store would want to be clear about its prices and sales, make honest deals, and make its customers want to return. Instead, you get the feeling you've entered a car dealership or piano store. The price of most items is not displayed. In no case does the store show the prices of varying finishes or sizes of a particular item. (Macy's, by contrast, has a card which displays the price of every variant of the item). Thus, you have to ask for prices. The staff claims that there are sales going on but these are not described in any public way. I got a salesman who gave me a low ball price on a sofa. He then claimed he'd made a mistake but offered me a break "only good today." Classic bait and switch behavior. It didn't help that he had displayed on his desk a summons to Superior Court in his name. (I don't know what the summons was for; I do know that Superior Court deals in serious matters.) If you're so rich you don't care, or you can afford a decorator who knows the tricks of the trade, go ahead and enjoy Roche Bobois's wonderful products. I could actually afford to purchase from them (now and then, anyway), but I will never do so until they make prices clear. Ever. read more
