This is the Rocco's I remember. Quality and consistency. Pizza and sandwiches are some of the best in the area.

We went to order and I wanted a pizza steak. I noticed that they charge 75 cents for onions? come on...that should include onions. People always say "Cheese steak and fried O's" That just seems like a sneaky way to pinch you for a little more. They should just increase the price more. Our waiter was lady named Michelle and she was the nicest. She was super kind and even gave us free garlic knots. And I forgot my water bottle inside and she ran out and gave it to me. I've been getting takeout from Rocco's nearly every Friday for years. After trying just about every pizza place in the area, I can confidently say Rocco's is the best. I used to stick with either a mushroom pizza or their incredible taco pizza (seriously, the best taco pizza anywhere!). But a few months ago, my wife and I decided to dine in, and I ordered a spinach calzone with roasted red peppers. OMG! It was packed with more veggies than I eat in a week, and the cheese was perfectly gooey. Adding some marinara sauce on the side made it off the charts (see pic). While I still mix in a taco or mushroom pizza now and then, this calzone has become my new Friday night go-to. read more

NY style pizza - thinner crust, ample cheese covering, and a crisp if you ask for it. The slices are huge, and you may want to consider ordering one slice at a time unless you're really hungry. The garlic knots were tasty, the calzones are good (wish they were deep fried) and there's plenty of seating. The parlor is bigger than you'd think. No frills, typical plastic benches on two sides of a table. Definitely more of a quick bite type of place, but executed well. read more

I've been here in the past, once every few years. And while Rocco's is competitively priced compared to other pizza places, this wouldn't be my first choice. It was only because we'd noticed a coupon in the mail and were craving brick oven pizza, that we ended up coming here. The brick oven crust has that perfect texture and is delicious as always, though I do recommend trying the taco pizzas at least once. I will point out that the toppings aren't as generous as they used to be. There's a wall selection of cold beers and soft drinks. And you have the option of ordering up front or seating yourself at a booth. While it was kind of dead on a Saturday night, there were at least three servers. However, it took a long time to be noticed - and only after flagging someone down to ask for water and take our order. While our server was friendly enough, this is service that made me cringe as a former waitress myself. It was the first time I chose to dine in, so I can't speak for how good the service is normally. Just made it to philly area. Stopped on this Italian restaurant. Rocco's in Exton. Perfect example of great place nice little layout food was really good. Service average. So it was Nice but missing something. No Italian music. The take out and restaurant meld together. No personality. The chefs are laughing it up. I'm wondering where the owner is. I give it a 3/5. The lasagna was well constructed but when cut into center it was cold. The broccoli rabi was fresh and crisp. Excuses for poor experience- it was around 9 pm. Maybe they were closing. Wow, since new owners took over the prices went up, the quality down and the service is 0 stars (zero courtesy, doofus kids on their phones behind the counter who can't put together a multi item order, upcharge for credit cards and the ambiance of a bus station). I found myself starving in Exton........that has movie/book title written all over it!! Rocco's came up with a 4.6 rating on Google Maps and 1st reviewer said he was going back for the cheesesteak, so I went to Rocco's. I once again have to thank @jcohl and @kjw1972 because I asked if they would make my cheesesteak on garlic bread and they said yes. The garlic bread made an average cheesesteak very tasty. Plenty of seating, free refill on soda, bathroom, pizza (Cheesesteak, Bar-B-Que Chicken) looked amazing and beer including sour monkey. Kid running the counter was stu-freaking-pendous. I've been a long time customer (15-20 years) and have always enjoyed the food. But the past few times it seems the quality has been less than what I've had in the past. My most recent order was a chicken parm sandwich. Total disappointment. Only one size to choose from (I'd estimate it was a 10" roll) and the chicken? It was breaded chicken fingers that had obviously been precooked and then microwaved. This made the chicken overcooked and chewy. Not to mention the chicken had no seasoning. Then topped with sauce and mozzarella cheese. The roll was stale and it seems they thought heating it in the oven would cover the staleness. All for a cost of over $14. I never write reviews. Ever. I don't have the time it's just complaining for no reason. But I felt compelled today. Ordered their Margherita Pizza for me and a coworker for lunch today. The order was ready when I arrived to pick it up, great I was happy about that. I open the box to take a slice out and notice the pizza is so floppy and soft you wouldn't be able to pick it up with a fork. Not the end of the world but not great for a $13.50 pizza. I'm close by and in no hurry, no big deal I bring the pizza back and just say hey can you guys crisp it up a bit. They were happy to oblige. The pizza goes back in their "700-900" degree oven for like, 7-9 minutes and I'm wondering how badly burnt it's about to come out. It wasn't as bad as I expected and I was pleased! But something was off. I went back and looked at the menu, and realized there were no San Marzana Tomatoes anywhere on the pizza! One of the three ingredients they listed for their Margherita was just not on the pizza. I've included a picture of what they show on their website, vs the raw dough pizza I originally got. This review is long overdue. We have been frequenting Rocco's for better than a year now, once a week every Tuesday. It is time to leave an honest review. When we first stated coming on a regular basis the staff started to notice. First the owner Rosa helped us and then we settled weekly with a wonderful server named Lauren. Lauren in addition to being very easy on the eyes was very personable and took time to converse with us when she was not busy and eventually came to know what we liked to drink and brought that without asking. This restaurant is BYOB so she knows we bring our own wine and she brings us wine glasses each week and a glass of seltzer. Despite being regulars we are always offered a menu and told what soups are available etc. If we happen to order something familiar she knows what dressing we may like on a salad or if I l want extra onions on a salad or extra cheese, etc. There have also been times we have been able to request something not on the menu to see if the chef can make it. This is never a problem and it goes to show how we are valued as a customer and not just few dollars. The owners have often come out to say 'hi' or ask about a meal and it really makes us feel important. Now to be fair, other customers who are obviously not regulars receive the same homey service. While Lauren may spend time chatting with us, she never, ever, ignores other tables or makes them feel unwelcome. 'Hi Guys' is her way of greeting her customers and it is so refreshing to hear how she takes the time to give all her customers special attention. While we may be regulars, others are certainly not ignored. What is nice is that there are others who stop in on Tuesday evenings as well so there is a little bond of friendship among the regular Tuesday crowd. I say crowd tongue in cheek as Rocco's is not huge, but intimate enough that if you see someone you know you can speak and not have to yell across the restaurant. The food. Wow. If you leave hungry, you did not try hard enough. We've had pizza, pastas, salad, seafood, chicken meals, hoagies, steaks, etc. My fav happens to be the mussels but of late their pizza and hoagies have been hitting the spot. If you want to have at least two meals, go for the chicken parm and prepare to be wowed. It's just ridiculous how much food you get and for it to be tasty is just an extra added bonus. I went old school the other week and ordered simple linguine and meatballs. Come on.....some of the best stuff I've had in a bit. I'm trying to think of the worse meal I have had here and I really cannot. I guess maybe I was not a fan of the tortellini with meat sauce but you have to respect my honesty. That was so long ago and it's been the only thing I did not like. Go ahead and order the mussels and the loaf of bread they give you to go with it. Crazy. I was caught by my wife when we first came there drinking the sauce in the shrimp, clams and spinach meal with a straw. Embarrassing yes, but a testament to how good the food is. Just go and run through the menu. The Napletano Hoagie is something special. So yeah, this is a glowing review but we've had a great continuous experience at this place. Be they busy or slow, the service and customer service is great. Good staff, clean restaurant, excellent food. Through staffing shortages, Covid hiccups, or when they were out of wedding soup, it's been a great experience. Go in and ask for Lauren and she'll take care of you. Don't ask her about her cat however. They have creative differences, lol. No honestly 100% happy with this place, the owners, and the entire experience. Well done for a neighborhood spot. Came in here on a Thursday evening for Italian pasta. My wife and I had very good service and they have a lot of beer selections, not crafts etc but very good selection for a small pizza shop. I haven't tried their pizza yet, but we plan to! Overall, very standard Italian pasta (I had spaghetti with meatballs) and it wasn't my dish. I happen to have a specific sauce and cheese liking so not surprised here. It just wasn't like the homemade sauces you can get other small Italian restaurants. Pies are a bit pricey but the brick oven pizza is very good and worth the extra fir this Neapolitan pizza. The Bianca could use a bit more garlic for my taste but overall a good value. This has become a staple when I travel to Exton for work. Service is fantastic, and the prices are great as well. Its a welcome change when you order by the slice and they don't get annoyed when you point and pick which slice you want (I am a sucker for the squared corner pieces on a thick crust pizza). They're pretty fast paced behind the counter but always patient when you order. The last time I was in there, a few of the guys cooking were singing together in Spanish. I think when people are having fun while cooking - it shows positively in the food. I've gotten lucky every time I went here in that a fresh cheese pizza was coming out the oven to be cut up for slices. :) About the only negative thing I can say about this place has more to do with the crazy way to get here if you're traveling on the opposite side of the hwy. The picture on the menu of the Margherita pizza shows tomatoes on it. Got it home, no tomatoes and it was burnt. Tried to return it. The young lady that appeared to be acting as a manager told me "our Margherita is made without tomatoes" She also claimed that the brick oven pizza will be burned because the oven is at 700 plus degrees. Rocco's customer service tactics are to make you feel like you are the problem not their poor product. I have lived in Exton for over 20 years and been going there for that time period. Not anymore. We recently moved back to Exton (after 8 years away). Rocco's used to be hands down the best pizza place around. The pizza was amazing, without fail. I bragged about living close to them and anyone who visited agreed. 8 years later, and four times back so far due to nostalgic loyalty, the pizza is good not great. And it's hit or miss now too. Sometimes the pie is pretty good, other times not good at all (under cooked, over cooked, wrong order, etc.). I think it is an attention to detail problem, but it's not just one item on the menu. The sad thing is that there is not really a great pizza place in town anymore (not that I've found anyway). So, I'm hoping Rocco's figures out what has changed and fixes it. read more
