I have had the displeasure of staying at 2 different PT rehabs before I ended up at Santé & you would not believe the horror stories I have from those places, just unbelievably awful (Both stank of urine & feces the moment you get passed the front desk.) & Sante was like a Godsend for me. Let me start with the facility 1st. The place is very nice. They have a Starbucks Cafe, a full gym staffed with friendly & knowledgeable physical therapists that will work with you everyday, a full restaurant, and most importantly, HUGE SPACIOUS INDIVIDUAL ROOMS equipped with a flat screen tv, a mini fridge, a kitchenette, a microwave, and a nice big full size bathroom for my wheelchair. Next let me tell you about the staff. Everyone there is so friendly & polite. I stayed there for years & most of the staff stayed there and are still there since I first went to Santé in 2019 (That should tell you something. Most nursing facilities are like a revolving door when it comes to the staff). I'd like to mention some names of people who really became friends of mine while I was there. Marlin, Brian, Aiden, Catalina, Sharon, & Kimberly from the CNA team are all excellent at their jobs & true professionals. These guys went over & beyond their duties for me & I thank God for their help, they truly are the best (You need to trust me on this, at other places I've had criminal's & people who just don't care & I never got that at Santé. They were always good to me). From the nursing staff id like to mention Betty, Jose, Fennela,& Elizabeth. These nurses are top notch. They actually care about the patients & they don't treat you like a person that they have to deal with, they treat you like a person & that is so rare in healthcare especially post covid. If I had to complain about anything it would be the food. When I first went to Sante in 2019 they had an extensive menu with lots of options & the food was actually good. I left for a year and when I came back the kitchen had really gone down hill. You know it's not good when the employees don't eat from there. I talked to the main chef Daniel & he told me they cut his budget drastically & the quality of the food suffered as a result so it's not his fault, corporate is always looking to save a buck & they shouldn't do that with the food, it's kind of important for those who have to stay there for long periods of time. I was able to eat there everyday if I wanted to but I ordered delivery most days because the food was nasty. There are so many others I am forgetting to include but the staff for the most part is amazing. If you are looking for a nice place for yourself or a loved one look no further. It doesn't get any better than Sante of Mesa. Other places will put on a show for you & trick you into staying there thinking it's a nice place & then when management goes home the night crew will come in and they are terrible, sometimes even abusive. This doesn't happen at Santé, they even have couches in the rooms with pull out beds so you can have a loved one spend the night with you, they welcome it because they are fully staffed at nighttime and don't leave you with a skeleton crew like everywhere else. At least that's been my experience. Last but not least I'd like to thank Kristina the maintenance manager! Kristina is an angel walking around on earth. She totally gets me & we were friends (she is another 1 who has been there a long time.) She will make sure everything in your room works & she keeps the place nice. Management is also great! If you do choose Santé' make sure you don't get Irene as a nurse. She is a nurse at Santé who doesn't belong. She is the only one I ever had a problem with & it was like she liked to pick on me. I honestly never did anything to this lady & for some reason she was always rude & unprofessional. Whenever I would ask for her she literally took an hour or longer to get to me if she ever came at all. I would ask her to change my folly catheter in the morning time and she would blow me off all day & try to pass the work on to the night nurses. The worst part about working with her is when I would ask for her help I could actually hear her just talking & laughing with the staff instead of attending to my needs. She made some of my days very bad & I always loathed the days I had her for a nurse but she is the exception, all the other nurses there are great, especially the ones I named. If you have any questions feel free to ask me, I will answer any questions truthfully because I know how important it is to put your loved ones into a good nursing facility & God willing I never need to go back but if I ever need to stay in a nursing facility again Sante is where I would go. Went in March for a hysterectomy. Outpatient doors were closed said to go through the ER. Go to…read morethe ER they make you walk all the way to regular administration who's doors are open with a closer parking lot then the ER. I have a port because I have Multiple Sclerosis and receive my medication monthly by infusion, they refused to use it without an Xray. They also made me pee in a cup to prove I wasn't pregnant...it takes 3 appointments, waiting 30 days and a biopsy that is the most painful thing I've ever experienced in order to get a hysterectomy, who would get pregnant in that small window of time where I took 2 other pregnancy tests AND had an ultrasound. Plus since it was surgery I hadn't drank anything. Super annoying. When I came to the nurse who took care of me was great, very easy going, was prememptive with care like had a heater thing ready for me and water, explained everything, his energy was very good and calming, perfect for what was happening. I chose to stay the night in order to have pain management because left to my own devices I let the pain go too long and it causes problems. My first nurse was Coraline. I had to pee as soon as I got there, I asked her and she asked me to wait 5 minutes. Luckily for me the nurse who does the blood pressure, I think her name was Cheyenne helped me and was super sweet the entire time. Caroline did eventually come back but not in the 5 minutes and didn't remember, she did not seem very experienced. Then later in the evening when she came in I asked to have my water filled and she again said later and that I had gatorade, my mom had gone and bought snacks because Caroline couldn't find a phone for me to order food and she did place the order herself but obviously I'm not going to page the nurse everytime I need something. A very nice man, the one who transported me, saw my mom with the bag found us a phone and apologized that we bought everything he seemed pretty irritated that this wasn't taken care of by the nurse. I didn't get my water refilled until the night shift when the blood pressure guy Chris came in, he was also great. I don't remember my nurses name that night but I really liked her, she was very friendly and competent perfect care after a very long tiring day. Checkout was easy. I just really wish they had used my port because I would've been far more comfortable and that's why it's there. Coraline could also use a little help in making sure patients are comfortable, she's the only one who didn't seem to recognize what was going on.

They did bloodwork, a CT and an ultrasound. I was waiting to hear the results. A discharge nurse came in, with paperwork to discharge me. The doctor had not even come in to tell me what was wrong, and give me treatment options. I had to demand to talk to the doctor. He told me I had gallstones, but it didn't require immediate surgery. Granted, I already had surgery scheduled for 7/6. The doctor said it could wait, prescribed me pain and nausea meds and told me to follow a low fat diet. His tone, when telling me about the diet, made me feel like he was criticizing my intelligence regarding this. But t, I'd already been doing this one year now, for weight loss. Friday, 7/3, I got in touch with my surgeon. She got me on the schedule that day. The next morning, she said my gallbladder was inflamed. It needed to come out. A doctor should communicate with their patients, giving them all information necessary, so the patient can exercise their right to choose the treatment they want. I wasn't given this, without having to advocate for myself.

It took me 3 days to get a phone call and some sort of report back on the physical and occupational therapy for our mother. We ended up removing her from the facility abruptly after seeing what happens there after 7:00 p.m. I would highly recommend if you have a loved one that is placed in this facility visit it several times unannounced you will know what we mean. They only want to build the insurance and get them money, they also seem to have some sort of agreement with Mercy Gilbert Hospital

Our mother was admitted to Well Springs SNF following a hospital stay and was supposed to receive…read morephysical and occupational therapy to help her regain strength and independence. The evening she arrived, she was still able to walk. Unfortunately, the therapy she was supposed to receive--at minimum 3-4 times per week--rarely happened. Sessions were short, inconsistent, and often skipped entirely. Instead of helping her improve, staff frequently left her lying in bed or sitting in a wheelchair for most of the day. Over time, her muscles deteriorated significantly, and walking became nearly impossible. Eventually, she could no longer take steps without the assistance of a walking device. Basic care was severely neglected. She was not properly bathed or given adequate peri-care. Staff tried forcing her into Depends, despite the fact that she had never needed them in her life. As time went on, it became obvious this was simply because staff did not want to assist residents to the restroom. There were many times she would call for help and wait 30-45 minutes before anyone responded, often resulting in humiliating accidents. Her medications were mixed up on several occasions. We also witnessed feces- and urine-soaked bedding and clothing being left in her room and even thrown onto the floor. Our family met with management, including Heath, multiple times, but despite plenty of promises, nothing ever changed. We ultimately removed her from the facility, and within 12 hours she had to be hospitalized with a severe blood infection caused by unsanitary conditions and neglect along with bed sores on her back side. The night staff were by far the worst. My mother began recording the amount of time it took for someone to answer her call button because the delays were so excessive. She also suffered falls there--despite never having fallen before in her life. On multiple occasions, night staff left her lying on the floor with only her own pillow placed under her head while waiting for another employee to help lift her, sometimes for 20 minutes or longer. There were also several times our family arrived and found all the doors locked, forcing us to wait extended periods before anyone answered. Each visit, our mother appeared more neglected and distressed because of the poor care she was receiving. Late at night, children--presumably employees' kids--would run through the halls loudly, disturbing residents. Her water containers were frequently left empty and dried out. This place was an absolute nightmare. We personally witnessed verbal abuse from staff toward other patients in common areas. Based on our experience, I strongly urge others to stay far away from this facility. Their negligence nearly cost our mother her life.

If I could leave negative stars, I would. This is the mental health facility that, back in February…read moreof this year, nearly killed me due to medical malpractice and neglect, used outdated medical practices on me like trying to get me out of a functional seizure using AMMONIA, even after I told them that makes my seizures worse. Staff ended up leaving me covered in my own pee and vomit while still in a full blown seizure, unsupervised in my room for 30 min. I was even accused of faking my seizures by several staff, including nurses and doctors, and not only were they were called "behaviors", I was also being threatened to be kicked out of the program if I kept seizing. I was accused of faking my mutism, accused of only speaking "when I want to". I was actively denied access to ASL interpreters several times, ignoring my legal rights. I was only checked in here because when I called my local crisis unit, they informed me that no local mental health facility would be able to accommodate me because of my mobility needs and speech aid and interpreter needs. I was taken to the local emergency room to be placed somewhere that would supposedly be able to accommodate me properly. As soon as I arrived, I was shown that was not the case. I was forced to write everything I needed to communicate with any and all staff down on a piece of paper with these flimsy pens that members can use. I have stacks of paper and journals full of all the writing they forced me to do, and written down several times is my request for ASL interpretation and text to speech abilities. All ignored. It wasn't until the last couple nights of my stay that I was finally moved to a wheelchair friendly room, leaving me to depend on staff the majority of my time there in order to help me transfer, as neither my bathrooms nor beds had bars for transferring. I was forced to wheel myself, despite informing staff I was not in the right wheelchair for my disability (I require a power wheelchair ) and ended up with severe shoulder and hand injuries from overuse. Then, when I would ask for help being wheeled or transferring, a nurse proclaimed several times "THIS IS NOT AN ASSISTED LIVING FACILITY". Which is so ableist and disturbing coming from a NURSE. When I complained about this to a doctor, he defended her words saying, "Well, that's true", but if I had been placed in the proper bedroom with the proper accommodations, I would need LESS assistance, not MORE. Over the last few months, I have tried time and time again to get ahold of the facility over the phone to get access to my medical records from there and I have yet to have ANY luck. I also don't understand how a facility that deals with people who have disabilities, can be so absolutely ableist in so many ways. There is so, so much more I could say about the lack of dignity every member that enters this place receives, like the lack of comfy clothes to exist in if you arrive with no clothes. SO many staff members here need to be investigated and fired.

Whatever you do, don't go there. Their actions cost a man his life. They screw up by not just…read moregiving a man the incorrect medication but also at a lethal dosage. They discovered his body 3 hours later. They could have gotten him help in those 3 hours, but even when they realized that he was given the wrong medication, they did nothing.
