No burned or bitter & you can tell they use good quality beans. Tried the seasonal Maple Bourbon and WOW! Great combination of flavors for winter *insert clapping hands emoji* The breakfast club drink was delicious too and great for those who tend to like their sugar with coffee and cream. You could actually taste the coffee which is great!! The servers seemed barista friendly, not overly talkative nor rude. Very chill area with a nice outside patio seating area. This is a cool coffee spot located at the Mission City Corporation Center. It's outside in a covered kiosk with covered seating scattered about. I ordered the Cafe Viennese Latte hot. It was a great rendition of a Viennese Latte. It was smooth and well balanced between the espresso, cinnamon, and honey, not to mention the steamed milk. I am the former owner of a coffee shop. As such, I have been a coffee snob and connoisseur for many years. I TRUST Rob's. Since I work across the street from them, I have visited many times over the past 6 months. I am never disappointed. Every single staff member is always great. Their suggestions are always on point. Don't be afraid to try something different from their menu. You'll probably be blown away and change your regular drink order. I am struggling to think of any imperfections. I just wish it was open later so I could bring more people. This place is definitely an asset to East County as I cannot think of any other comparable coffee shops in the area. It's my second time here , I fell in love with this little place and their iced Aunt maple latte . One of the things I've noticed that most coffee shops don't do is they shake the drinks !!! Coffee good, pastries (scones specifically) not so good. Rob's is open during the corona mayhem, albeit with no sit in options. It's a smallish place on the main drag not far from the Magnolia intersection. He opened just a few weeks before all the insanity so we give him props for sticking with it! He has all the standard drinks and offers some signature drinks as well. Overall a decent stop for coffee. Rob, recommend you source a new bakery! First time here. Stopped by while on break. It was a very nice location and coffee shop. To start it's located in the middle of El Cajon and offers both indoor and outdoor seating. I got a double shot espresso on ice with oat milk. My normal sweater is Carmel or vanilla, but this time the owner and brewer suggested that I try salted Carmel. Definitely a different taste compared to my normal. Needless to say, this was a nice vibrant coffee shop, there was a variety of coffee options. What a great coffee shop! I'm pretty snobby about my coffee. They are making beautiful lattes and coffee drinks with handcrafted syrups that are totally unique to anything I have ever tasted. The Buko Pandan (sp?) is absolutely delicious. They are pulling great espresso shots and not over sweetening the drinks. Just superbly done. Staff as well as customers are so friendly. It's on the old Main Street of El Cajon which we found to be a perfect little spot for this place. Very lowkey and very delicious. Honestly, I really wanted to give this place five stars. The service is very nice and the drink was out very quickly. They did everything they could to make my coffee taste better after I felt it was too bitter, but at the end, I don't think The recipe is quite nailed down yet. To be fair, I got a traditional iced mocha, and maybe if you get one of their more exotic flavors, you will be happier. But, at least for the classics, I think you could do better elsewhere. Also, price here is not as cheap as you might think. It is basically the same price as what you would pay in La Jolla. read more

To be upfront, my main inspiration for writing this review is price in the context to the area where they're located... First, there's nothing exceptional about the outside, seating, or building - it's average in every way. What is cool were the creative specialty coffee options. However, I immediately noticed the deceitfulness of one thing: There's no prices anywhere. While they have a lot of info on their menu, including ingredients and products, there's not a price anywhere. As you might imagine, although I was planning on having a chill time w/ my little daughter, I was bracing for the worst when it came to price. I ordered a "Rum Candy" coffee drink, and then was hit with it: "That'll be $7.95". There is a part of me that considered cancelling and dipping out, not because I'm poor, but because I hate being ripped off. That said, I was in a good mood and already bought juice for my kid, so I rolled with it and paid $8 for a very medium size cup of coffee - note that it's not large by any means. Long story short, the drink was alright, but definitely not worth $8 for an average sized cup. I literally could replicate the taste by making a coffee and pouring a rum shot in - it wasn't magic and to deceptively not list prices only to hit you with this is ridiculous. While I like to see more local businesses around downtown El Cajon, this place paled in comparison to somewhere like Brew Cafe in La Mesa, where their many creative drinks have the prices clearly displayed, not to mention to exponentially better ambiance and seating options. If you don't mind paying a mystery price for your order and paying a price you'd expect at Disney or Beverly Hills for a coffee in El Cajon, give it a shot! read more
