Sue is the best! I highly recomend Robinson cleaners and tailoring. My Daughter was getting married and i wanted to have a different look than any one else. I ordered a western long coat paints and custom shirt online. Everything was to long or big and needed to be tailored to my body. I stopped by Robinsons cleaners and Sue tailored everything all in a week. I had so many compliments about how great i looked. They are not military friendly they rip people off hardcore. Don't bring your stuff here. Charged 30 bucks for 2 name tags after saying it would only be 5 bucks each. The prices are never the same. I called 3 shops from Santa Maria and 1 shop from Lompoc before I called Sue (Robinson's). Apparently no one wanted to sew patches on my leather motorcycle vest. Sue was the only one who said no problem. One seamstress said my vest would damage to many of her sewing needles..... WTH!? Anyway, I called she said she'd meet me at the shop, 20 minutes later my patches were on, even matched the thread with the patches. Great work, NO COMPLAINTS! Veteran friendly, military family. Will definitely bring my leather work to her in the future. read more

Might be excellent dry cleaner or good for alterations but don't get them to sew on patches or add lettering. Had some shirts for our crew for an upcoming exercise this past summer and wanted to get them done locally since I could not get in touch with the lady in Santa Maria who usually does our shirts. Just needed a patch sewn on and some letters added underneath the patch. I gave them two weeks to get the job done on four shirts for two exercises (8 shirts total) and ended up getting the first four done four days after I had been promised them and waiting another week for the remaining four. Ok, stuff happens and things get backed up. Not a crucial issue. However, the shirts looked like my 5 year old grandchildren had done them. The patches and lettering were placed around the arm pits instead of the on the normal chest location and the lettering was spelled wrong (after carefully printing it out for them on the order). Kinda glad it was in the armpit since it wasn't as noticeable there. Additionally the lettering was missing an entire line (two words) on all the first shirts. And that might have been ok except I had paid an extra fee for the four words we were supposed to have on them. All in all they charged almost $170.00 for a patch and four short words on 8 shirts. (I think the total was 168 bucks, and she said she waived the extra fees since she couldn't keep her schedule- how much would that have added??!!??). A ridiculous price for work that looked like a kindergarten student had done it. I was embarrassed for my crew to wear the shirts for our events. Was terrified to mention that the word was even spelled incorrectly. (The owner seemed to act like it was an imposition to perform her job.). Will have them done by the folks in Santa Maria next time. They charged only $10.00 a shirt for the same work and it was beautifully done and looked quite professional. I'd happily have given the business to her, my crew would have been happier too!! Guess Buyer Beware is a good motto here. read more

I took my ABU's in here to get done last minute. The bottoms were great, but the ABU top got messed up. The owner worked out a solution with me promptly and was nice enough to offer to do my next set free of charge. She explained to me that someone else had helped her finish up my top. Also, the name tape program was brand new. So, if anything goes wrong she will be willing to work with you on the issue. read more

i had overalls that needed to be trimmed from the pant length and the lady there was really helpful and she trimmed it perfectly at the exact length that i wanted it at. i gave her the overalls on a friday and she already had it ready on monday :) will most definitely come back in the future :))) read more

My family and I were in Lompoc for my grandfather's funeral. An hour before the funeral, my wife's dress zipper broke. Running out of time, I searched for a place to get the zipper fixed. Robinson's was the only cleaner/alteration place open so early in the morning. I walked in and was greeted by the friendly owner, Sue. She said, sure they could fix it and it would be ready by noon, but the funeral was at 10am. I told her this was an emergency and it needed to be rushed, without hesitation she made my wife's alteration priority..zipper was fixed in 30 minutes AND she pressed the dress! They ruined my entire wardrobe. My whites came back blue and pink. Anything that had color came back with bleach spots and grease on it. They told me it was my problem and to take it to someone else after I spent $175.00 with them. read more

They lost a brand new dress shirt and made half-assed attempts to find it. Then the owner ("grandma") tried to shift the blame to me, saying I hadn't returned her calls. Which was a lie. When I reminded her that I had returned her call, she shifted it to, "well we got cut off and you didn't answer when I called you back." Utter BS. Truly lousy on their part. I'm out for a brand new, never worn $60 dress shirt, three trips across town to try to pick it up, and the stress and grief of dealing with an asshole. read more

The business looks disorganized and not clean. That should have given me a clue about their quality of service. I brought a comforter to be dry-cleaned. It was supposed to be ready 3 days later but when I went to pick it up they told me that they couldn't dry it because their machine had broken down. It had been laying wet somewhere near the floor. I went back 2 days later, this time it was ready. I took it home, unfolded it and discovered several stains and smudges that were not there before. I am very dissatisfied with their slow and poor-quality work. I spent $25 and came back with a dirtier and stained comforter. I will never go back again. read more
