Dr. Harvey was the best doctor I had ever had in life!!!!! He was always patient, kind, friendly,…read moreefficient and thorough. The office staff back in the day, Shantel and Antonette were the friendliest, funniest, calm, cool and professional nurses i had ever met. I will never forget taking my foster baby there, and they were so sweet and patient, for him to get his immunization shots, etc. I miss the entire staff. I left, because later on in the years, (after ObamaCare) took place, his office became more like a welfare medical clinic!!! There were all type of patients and a bunch of kids and chaos in the waiting room. The wait became so long. If i had an appointment at 9am, i was lucky to see him at 10:25 a.m.!!!!! I remember his first office across the street from the Carson Mall. I will never forget, how i was just looking for a local doctor at the time, i called him during my lunch break and told him my throat was sore and i couldnt swallow. He told me to come in right away. I waited a few moments, I was having a very very very bad tonsilitis and he gave me a shot to make the pain go away. The first shot didnt work, he gave me a different shot and the pain eased up. He made sure I was pain free before i left that doctors office. I was so happy and that was back in the early 2000's Im glad to know he has retired and I wish him nothing but the best in life for him and his wife. God bless you Dr Daniels! And Staff!

I can't tell you how rare it is to find a doctor who is not only compassionate, caring, and has a…read moregood sense of humor but also uses his intelligence and common sense to help heal you physically. Dr. Chumley has an impressive educational background (according to his bio he graduated from UC Riverside and earned his Master's Degree and Medical Doctorate from Georgetown University), plus a lot of experience, having had a private practice in Hawaii for 14 years before returning to the mainland and setting up his practice in Torrance. As impressive as his knowledge, skills, and experience are, we are even more impressed with Dr. Chumley's bedside manner. He takes the time to ask pertinent questions, provide explanations in understandable terms, and actually listens to his patients. He has a great office staff too. A patient's experience with their doctor depends a lot on their interaction with his assistants and staff, with all of the necessary appointments, paperwork, and follow-ups. Their roles are underrated if you ask me. We had a rather urgent matter to discuss with Dr. Chumley so Lucy, one of his assistants, fit us into his already packed schedule (Thank you, Lucy!) and we didn't feel at all rushed during our session. I just have a random feeling Dr. Chumley may have given up his lunch time to see us and we appreciate it very much. Thank you, Dr. Chumley, for doing a great job by helping us maintain and improve our health. You're the best!

Unfortunately, I moved away and changed insurance companies so I had to say goodbye to Dr. Chumley. I currently have a terrible doctor and it makes me miss him even more! If you value quality care, a clean office, and a technologically advanced practice, Dr. Chumley is the one for you!

His demeanor is welcoming, warm and gentle. I have great respect for any medical professional who goes way beyond the minimum effort to treat his patients. My complex medical history and current symptoms typically deter the full support of most doctors but not Dr. Liu. He has helped with further diagnosis, tests, medications and even supplements. When you have been ill for many decades, finding a compassionate, helpful and respectful physician is near miraculous! High recommend despite his full practice, absolutely worth your time and effort.

My physician referred me to Dr. Averill because of the palpitations. In under 5 minutes in the…read moreoffice, I had a desire to leave. The receptionist did not greet me or even acknowledge my presence, although I was the only patient there. Despite my checking in online as requested, I was receiving messages to check in again. After the third message, I approached the receptionist to ask her politely about the pervasive messages. The answer through her teeth, "Nevermind." Another unfriendly employee (a nurse?) invited me in and, without a word, pointed at the scales. Later I saw she had subtracted no weight of the sneakers and clothes. Dreadful experience through the EKG. For the first time, no paper gown to change into or asking to at least remove my bra. Very unpleasant experience when the nurse kept raising my tank top and bra, poking under it a hundred times. Then Dr. Averill came in. He was poised but seemed... indifferent. Just asked a couple of questions, took notes, offered no opinion, and ordered a halter heart monitor for 24 hours. Another session of poking under my bra from the nurse who could not make the device work for the next 30 minutes, while looking into the two manuals and alternating the two batteries in her hand. When the doctor told her to get a new battery, the device turned on but showed the wrong time. The nurse did not bother to reset the time. Just recorded the time difference. No one gave me directions to keep a journal. The ever-angry receptionist suggested another appointment, but I did not want to come back to the unfriendly office and asked for the results to be sent to me. She said I could view them on my patient portal on their site. I came back the next day to return the monitor. With no desire to spend anymore time at the office, I asked to be let into a room to remove the device in privacy. Shocking advice--use the public restroom next to the elevator. I did. The receptionist promised to download the test results. Four days later, no results. I called to inquire. After keeping me on hold, the clerk asked for my phone number to call me back. No call back. No results.

This doctor doesn't listen to his patients. He might know things from the technical point of view…read morebut when you treat a patient, you have to treat the whole person, not just the black and white. I had an issue with a medicine that he prescribed that was causing me dizziness and nausea and head spinning. I showed him all the articles I have read but he completely dismissed them and rushed me out of the office. Since I couldn't communicate with him I had to go to another cardiologist. He immediately understood what my concern was and took me off of the medicine. What do you know? The dizziness, head spinning, and nausea stopped within that week.

It is also unfortunate that be what it may, it is the doctor's responsibility to manage that staff and ensure each patient has a respectful, caring experience. Ron Yamane's staff answer the phone whenever they feel like it (they absolutely do not adhere to stated hours), and are condescending and disrespectful to patients. We've moved on (after several decades) to find a doctor who actually believes in a "patient-first" model, one to whom we can confide and trust. This is a shame: it's not often you see 3.3-star ratings for doctors, but in this case, it is deserved. No ill-will toward Dr. Yamane, I'm sure you can turn this around, but your legacy in Gardena has been severely tarnished by your management approach. The negative reviews you see on this site are only a fraction of those who have been affected; most folks I know all have the same story, grin and bear it, or stop going to your office altogether...

When I arrived the staff was actively sanitizing everything, I felt very safe. Two things stood out the most during my appointment, Dr. Ellis genuinely cares and wants the patient to understand what he is saying. He was very thorough and respectful with my physical examination. He took the time to walk through and explain my blood work, not just tell me everything is okay but actually explain why everything is okay. To me, it was obvious by Dr. Ellis mannerisms that he really cared. Whenever I spoke he stopped what he was doing to truly listen to what I was saying. They had a little mental health questionnaire for each client to fill out, I thought this was a nice touch. Part way through my appointment he stopped to ask how I was and if there was anything I wanted to talk about, he genuinely meant it. Although he doesn't specialize or deal with Mental Health I really respected that his office had an emphasis on it. I highly recommend Dr. Ellis. He is an overall great man and doctor.
