Well, it looks like I'm not adding anything new here, but Dr. O'Connell is truly the worst dr I've…read moreever encountered in my life. I came across some medical records and wanted the Dr. to explain to me, why he put some things in my records that I didn't understand completely and wanted to hear his reasoning for it. First off he was late for the appointment, which is not the first time. He entered the room complaining how busy he is.... That is not how you treat paying patients. It is not my fault that YOU are overworked or overwhelmed or that you over booked! I waited 30 days for this appointment and then YOU were late to the appointment! My time is just as valuable as yours!!! I immediately told him that this should only take a few minutes and he could move on with his day. I confronted him about what he put in my medical records and he immediately gave me some BS story about INS coding and blah blah blah. He straight up lied to my face and that was the last straw for me. He then berated me for wasting his time and that this could have been done over the telephone, I immediately let him know that I wanted to see him in person for the explanation. His story was such BullSh&!, he was like "Oh I just used that code because of this and that" Straight up lied to my face. He didn't have to use that code unless he really believed that. He got called out and literally didn't know what to say other than lie. He is the kind of doctor that thinks everyone else is uneducated and he is all knowing! Absolutely ridiculous!!!! How can I continue to see a doctor that I no longer trust?!?! So with that.... I'll be looking for a new primary physician.

This review is long overdue, but necessary. I recently went…read morethrough my old medical files from 2015, and everything I went through with this doctor came flooding back. I was a healthy, active woman in my early 40s -- working out four times a week, eating clean, and living a balanced lifestyle. Out of nowhere, I began passing out, having heart palpitations, chest pressure, and extreme fatigue. I was in and out of the ER repeatedly for years, scared and confused, and no one could figure out what was wrong. Each time, the emergency doctors ran tests and told me to follow up with my primary doctor, Dr. Abraham Golbari. I did exactly that. But instead of compassion, concern, or real investigation, I got dismissal, arrogance, and negligence. He brushed me off repeatedly, refused to run the proper tests, and told me to "stop working out as much." For clarity -- I wasn't overdoing anything. I did normal aerobic exercise like walking or jogging one to three miles, and light weights. I wasn't on steroids or pushing beyond my limits. I was just trying to stay healthy. His physician assistant (PA) at the time -- and I'll never forget her because she was amazing -- was the only one who truly listened to me. She said, "You're too young and healthy for this. Something's wrong." She went above and beyond to get the right lab forms, contacted another office, and sent me to Quest Diagnostics for blood work. That's when the truth finally came out -- I had lupus. Negligent and Dismissive -- Please Read Before Choosing This Doctor The PA personally called me in to share the results because she was leaving his office for the same reason many others probably have: his lack of care, concern, and professionalism. Even after I received the lupus diagnosis, Dr. Golbari minimized it. He told me I'd be "fine" and just to "go see a rheumatologist." No empathy. No support. No acknowledgment that after years of suffering and uncertainty, I finally had an answer. When I asked him for an application for a temporary handicap placard -- because lupus and heart palpitations made it difficult to walk or stand for long -- he flat-out refused to give me one. He said "nothing's wrong with you." His PA quietly handed me the application on her last day before she left his office, because she knew I truly needed it. I regret not filing a formal complaint with the Medical Board of California back then. What he did wasn't even just a misdiagnosis -- he didn't diagnose me at all. He showed no interest, no urgency, and no humanity. If it hadn't been for that PA taking the initiative to run the right tests, I don't know how long I would have gone on suffering, or if I would have survived. Dr. Golbari graduated from the National University of Iran Faculty of Medicine (listed on his California license). While I believe there are many excellent international doctors, his complete disregard for my symptoms, lack of bedside manner, and refusal to act were inexcusable. Below are links to verify his license and also to check if there have been any lawsuits or filings against him. If this reaches even one person before they experience what I went through, then sharing this was worth it. Please advocate for yourself and don't let anyone dismiss your pain. She made an effort to inform every patient about the long wait due to limited staff, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, that was the only positive part of our visit. My sister came in because she had been experiencing dizziness and blurred vision in her left eye for three days. After waiting about an hour, she finally saw the doctor, and the consultation lasted roughly another hour. She clearly explained her symptoms and concerns, but the doctor dismissed them and simply told her to eat something and take Tylenol because she hadn't eaten that morning. My sister explained that she hadn't eaten *because* she felt unwell and wanted to come in as soon as possible. It made no sense to us why her ongoing symptoms over several days were reduced to that explanation. We left feeling uneasy because nothing had really been addressed. Thankfully, my sister decided to call the VA hospital afterward. She spoke with a nurse practitioner who immediately told her to come into the ER that same day. At the hospital, we learned that my sister had actually experienced a mild stroke and has a hole in her heart. While I understand the clinic was busy and short-staffed, that does not excuse the lack of thorough evaluation and care. This could have had an even more serious outcome. We will never return here and would not recommend this urgent care to anyone.

The people at the front desk didn't acknowledge me as I stood next with no one in line. There were 3 people at the reception desk. One on the phone and two available. One just looked at me and looked forced to say something. Didn't smile, didn't greet or say hello. Nonchalant and just dismissive. However people who were older and of a different race got better treatment around me. I also waited an additional 30 minutes after my appointment. The only reason I'm giving this department 4 stars aside from the wait and slow receptionist area, is because of Dr. Lam. She was amazing. She was so sweet, took her time, knew what she was doing, she was gentle, and reassured me with all the things she was saying. She answered all my questions, and performed all the necessary exams as a follow up. She also cleaned the equipment every single time before using on me. Dr. Lam was also friendly, and made conversations with me. After the doctor did all the exams, she directed me to check out with a staff member and I was out the door. It was easy and smooth. I highly recommend this doctor. She's very knowledgeable and easy to work with. The department just needs to work on the receptionist area. Be more friendly, and attentive.
