This hotel concept is cool! It's nearly new and there's good upkeep on the property. I saw the…read morefront desk mgr Courtney raking leaves on her apparent down time. It is really close to the Silos and parking here will save you the $10 Silo parking fee. There is not always someone at the desk, nor does the phone always get answered. BUT, the hotel has EXCELLENT communication. We received a text before checking in with all the info we needed. Then, advice to text if we needed anything. Actually we sent a few texts that were IMMEDIATELY answered. Impressive! Even in the largest of other hotels, it can take some time to get a real person. We were immediately texted when we had a question about parking, then accessing the room, and others. I read on one review that there are about 10 parking spots. Actually, there are probably 25 to 30 in the lot. We found that we could park in the lot with no issues at various times. NOTE: Some spots are marked with "Reserved Parking". I asked the hotel and they related that hotel guests can park in those spots. We were told about possible train noise. We did hear it a few times, but it wasn't bothersome. In fact, there were ear plugs in a black pouch in the bathroom should this be an issue. There was also live music in the 4th floor bar until midnight. We could hardly hear it & we were on the 4th floor as well. BTW, there are superior views of the silos from the rooftop and other places in the hotel.

This is a unique property, being constructed of shipping containers, but you would never know it…read morefrom the inside. It is designed extremely well for a boutique hotel, and appointed nicely. What's it near? It's DIRECTLY next to the Dr Pepper Museum. It's only a five-min walk to Magnolia: Chip & Jo Gaines' shopping area. But, do NOT come here for the "breakfast bites", which is their substitution for breakfast. Sadly, there are only 2 breakfast foods, both bad for you: cereal laden with sugar & yogurt laden with sugar. And, for a boutique hotel, there was a lack of coffee. Yes, there was a coffee maker in the room with 2 pods for us, but no creamer. It was on another floor. We were here 2 nights, and the pods weren't replaced. No coffee the next morning and nowhere in the hotel to get some complementary coffee. That was odd because almost every hotel has coffee, some 24 hrs a day (Holiday Inn, etc). In summation, the location couldn't be beat. Check in was smooth with Courtney at the front desk. We would have never found this hotel were it not for a Travelzoo offer.

Pretty average hotel, not fancy like some Hiltons I have stayed in but the rooms were clean,…read moreeverything functioned as it should have. Had tea, coffee in the room and bottles of water if you wanted to pay $2 to drink them, fridge, iron, hairdryer. Checked in was smooth but clerk could have been a bit more talkative/informative. Large conference room on the first level, pool and outdoor seating was nice but it was December so I didn't utilize those. Easy walk to multiple restaurants, bars & shopping at Spice Market across the street and only about a 15 min walk to downtown Waco. Bar & restaurant in lobby, cleaning staff was very accommodating and friendly. Over all good average hotel experience but there are more modern hotels close by.

The outside looks like, not exaggerated, a hotel ready for demolition. There are beautiful views on two sides of this hotel. Some terrific staff members (Cheyenne at reception, a gentleman immediately came to fix the phone in our room, and Catherine Wiley...and only her...in the restaurant actually cares about the customers), please close more bottom floors and focus on top, for pity's sake get the outside cleaned up, fix the very low quality/high price in your restaurant...Hilton can turn this around. Or just sell it. ‍

We have been staying with them for over 15 years; my husband also travels a LOT with his job and his company has always used them for their preferred long term stays. I gotta say tho that this particular location has been less than stellar. I know that with Covid difficulties normal amenities like breakfast buffet n social events cannot be done n that's completely understandable but that's no excuse for not maintaining top notch facilities n customer service for your guests. The cleaning staff and MOST of the front desk staff have been wonderful; above board matter of fact but in a few instances basic customer service has been lacking. The propane went out last week and STILL hasn't been seen to, one of the only TWO washers for the entire location has been out of commission for almost a week now, and one of the dryers works less than optimally. I am afraid to touch the banisters in the stairwells as the same outside flora has been on the stairs since we got here a month ago so idk know the last time they've been wiped down. I would love to give this location a higher rating as I still love the Residence Inns and fully Intend to continue to utilize their locations, but I'm not sure if it's the proximity to the university??? Maybe they are used to a younger crowds expectations, and not so much business travelers. (This review was originally done in 2022)
