I spoke with Yvette, who was really kind, and helpful. She collected my info and said Holly (the owner) would give me a call back to schedule the estimate. Holly called me back same day and the estimate was scheduled for the next day. The gentleman who came for the estimate arrived on time and was extremely professional. He clearly understood what needed to be done for each project we needed. Being the fairly new owners of the home, I wasn't sure if the previous owners had left some paint behind, so I requested the estimate include the cost if we had the paint, as well as the cost if they needed to provide the paint. He said I'd have an invoice by end of day. Nine days later I still hadn't received an invoice, and because I'd initially been impressed by the company, I called to follow up. Holly apologized and said she'd send it over immediately, and she did. However, the invoice was missing almost half the projects we'd discussed and only included the cost if we provided paint. I contacted her back pointing out the missing items, and received another estimate. The second estimate still had missing items. After a couple of emails and five updated estimates later the info still wasn't correct. We received five estimates from five different companies for our job and it was coming down to Mr Fixit Fast and another company. We ultimately went with the other company, even though they charged $600 more. I really wanted it to work with Mr Fixit Fast, and maybe another time we'll give them a call and try again, but for this project we didn't believe the work we needed done would actually get done because the estimates kept leaving them off and the costs kept changing.

His estimate was based mostly on labor and basic materials (he brought paint brushes, buckets and coverings). I supplied the paint and tape. The final paint-job was really good (clean lines, attention to detail around wood and moldings, even coats) and he worked all day to get it done. When he left the paint was drying so the tape was still up. We had to take tape down ourselves the next day, but not a big deal. Most importantly, he was gracious and kind throughout--even when we had to do some last minute cleaning up on high recesses. Given his rates and quality of work, he definitely earned the 5 stars. I will absolutely call him for our next job.

Ultimately, we decided together that the ceiling and the walls should all be repainted. Arrangements were made for Wilfredo and his team to come by around 6 the following evening to get started. When they were an hour late, I wasn't surprised. I know how traffic in DFW can be and I was eager to have their professional help. Upon arriving at my home, Wilfredo nor his team, who trickled in little by little over the next few hours, wore masks without our asking. Wilfredo gave me a laundry list of items his team would need to begin work, which I was to leave to get for him. He announced that he would go home and take a shower then return to begin the project. He returned and one of his team members blue-taped and put plastic over all my cabinets and paper over the floors in preparation for the repairs and painting that was to begin the next morning. The next day, I waited for a team member to arrive. When it got close to lunch time, I spoke with Wilfredo who told me that his team member wouldn't be able to come until that evening. Once he did arrive, he set to work repairing cracks and did a nice job only he didn't visit every room and repair every crack. He told me that he was leaving for dinner and would return but he did not come back. The following day, someone was to come and paint and I planned to ask for the forgotten cracks to be repaired. I was, again, told how the arranged team member wouldn't be by at the agreed upon time. We settled on the next day. By this point, I've had plastic and paper all over the place but I'm trying to be patient. The following day, Wilfredo again needed to cancel on the painting and my spouse and I decided that it was time to cut ties with this company and just finish the rest ourselves. When I told Wilfredo that we would not need any additional visits, he told me to "ask my husband for the final word" which truly pissed me off. I am the one who was making all the arrangements from start to finish with this company. For him to insinuate that I needed a man's permission to call off services was unprofessional and ignorant. He called and texted several more times to get me to reconsider. I'd have painted the entire interior of my home with a q-tip before I let him back through my doorway. Unprepared. Unprofessional. Unreliable.

The entire process took about a month due to rainy weather. My entire yard was trashed for that month. His workers were messy and used my flower pots as a trash, my outdoor furniture wasn't moved aside for projects and was covered with dust and dirt. They left their lunch in opened trash bags for my dogs to discover. My side trees were cut down 6ft without consultation and some of the cuts were not clean, but ripped off. I was constantly picking up screws, nails, paint chips and somehow they got paint in the dogs water bowl. Sloppy work, they dripped white paint on a black rug, and got paint on my back windows. They removed a piece of outside wood exposing the attic and did not cover it up until days later, after I had to notice it and call Bob. I'm not sure if this was a new crew or what, but there was no "care" taken in their work. I constantly had to call Bob for these problems, which was pretty lame because that was why I was paying him. Overall the repairs I needed done were done but I will not use this company for future house projects.

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS!!…read more They do not go through insurance and grossly overcharge compared to industry standards, therefore insurance won't pay their rates and you will be stuck with the bill. We even know the owners personally and they still screwed us over, so imagine what they would do to you if you don't know them.... This was our first experience with a home insurance claim for water damage and John, whom we attend church with, coached us not to contact our insurance until their job was done, pay them as soon as they removed the last piece of equipment, and submit the receipt to insurance and insurance would pay us back. He said we would maybe have to push a little and send a few emails, but 100% of their customers have had insurance pay in full. He lulled us into a false sense of security, and add on top of this our trust in him because of knowing him personally, we believed him. BIG MISTAKE. We paid him upfront over $12,000 cash and insurance said the job was only valued at a little over $8000 so that's all they reimbursed us for, putting us out $4500! My insurance tried contacting them multiple times to have them explain the excessive charges, they ignored their calls. After speaking to John myself, Jeff finally answered my adjusters call who explained some charges, and John contacted me after saying my insurance agreed to pay the rest of the bill. ANOTHER LIE! I later found out from my insurance that my adjuster never said that and he would still not be paying on the full amount because it was outrageous compared to what it should be. John admitted to me on the phone how they hide extra charges into the cost of a fan or else insurance wouldn't pay them, which is what makes it look expensive to insurance, yet they won't be honest with the insurance companies about what costs they are hiding hoping insurance will just pay it. But then when insurance doesn't pay it because to them it looks like they are charging 4x industry standards for the cost of a fan it just bites the homeowner instead! In the end, I requested a refund from Rainy Day the difference and John brushed me off telling me to hire a public adjuster to continue to fight my insurance. He offered to pay up to $500 for their fee, but we would still likely pay much more than that because of the size of our claim as a whole and we don't want to risk losing even more money when insurance will most likely still say no. This whole thing could have been avoided if we chose a company that went through insurance, learn from our mistake! I have many many more grievances with the way this company took advantage of us and hurt us not just financially, but emotionally and mentally as well, but my point is DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. Also, these good reviews are padded with people they know or who have worked for them. The review with the dishwasher leak and pictures is the owners own kitchen, and he didn't even pay a dime for it because he told me his business ate the cost of his repairs. Guess my $4500 will go to his company funds for his next remodel......
