After being on the road all day and fairly heavy traffic, and nearing our destination, my wife started looking for places to have dinner before you arrived at our hotel. After cruising several on Yelp, she decided on Robin Hood brewing. I'm so happy she did! We walked in and sat at the bar. Our bartender, I wish I could recall her name, did a terrific job welcoming us and getting us started for dinner. We ordered adult beverages and pretzel bites with the beer cheese to start. I ordered their American IPA while my wife ordered their cherry chill, a seasonal drink. I thought the beer was absolutely tasty and delicious! The pretzel bites came out relatively quickly and were amazingly delicious along with the beer cheese. For our main courses, I ordered the Southwest chicken salad with balsamic vinaigrette instead of their Sriracha ranch and my wife ordered a slice of pepperoni pizza. Again, our meals came out relatively quickly and my Southwest chicken salad was extremely well presented! All of the flavors came together and complemented each other in my salad! I really enjoyed it! My wife thought her slice of pepperoni was fairly good though the crust could've been a little bit more done. As for the cherry chill, it was a little too sweet. 3 - Good choice if you're in the area. Skip to the end to see my rating scale. The three things I look for in a brewery are a dog-friendly outdoor space, accessibility to some good grub, and (of course) some quality beers. The brewery does have smallish patio outside, but when we checked in to make sure it was pet friendly we found out that they are definitely NOT. "Sorry, no dogs are allowed on the premises. I mean, it can stay in your car, but don't let it out." Bummer for sure, although that patio wasn't terribly inviting on a chilly November night anyway. Besides not allowing our creature on the patio, the staff's demeanor didn't compensate. Most of the ones we talked to seemed pretty uninterested in being there...or maybe just not interested in paying attention to someone who isn't in college. We didn't take advantage of the food opportunities, but they do have a nice menu available. So maybe the food's good, maybe it's not, but it's certainly available. And to be fair, the place was crowded on a Saturday evening, so I think it's safe to assume that it's decent. Which brings us to the beer. Enough of the beers in our flights were good enough to save the rating above a 2 on my scale. They have some variety which is always a plus...sours, hefs, stouts, and multiple IPAs. If you're into craft beer like we are, you'll likely find something you'll like. It's unlikely that we'll return because there are a couple of other breweries close by that are significantly friendlier. But if you're in the area and in the mood for a pretty good craft beer, Robin Hood is a safe choice. My rating scale: 1 - Just don't 2 - You'll survive, but there are better choices close by 3 - Good choice if you're in the area 4 - I'd drive 30 minutes out of my way just to come here 5 - I'd try to convince my wife to drive an hour just to come here read more

The prices. Yikes. $17 for a cheeseburger that won't be cooked to specification? $15 for a piece of fried fish and a handful of fries? Nice easy meal and visit to Robin Hood Brewing! The service from the bartender was friendly and hospitable, and I received my food and drinks very promptly after ordering. I had their new Cajun pasta, which was incredible and well-sized for a small. I didn't plan to eat all of it but here we are! The beers were quite varied and all the ones I had were cold and tasty. They seem to rotate in new seasonal batches regularly and there's a lot to choose from. They also have a full bar in addition to the sizable menu with everything from small apps to big meals. The restaurant is spacious, with an early 2000s comfort vibe going on, and the sit down spaces split into a booth area and a more sports-bar type atmosphere on the other. Today I went here for lunch and it was excellent. I got Pepsi to drink. I got the ranch french fries and pizza as well. When we got there we didn't know that it was pizza Sundays, but we found out that all the pizzas are the same price no matter what the size is so we got the largest size pizza and you get three toppings so we went from getting one topping to three toppings where else does this the pizza and the french fries are both very very good. Our server was delightful. Our food isn't late and I really can't complaining about anything it wasn't congested. For $50 you can become a member of their bow and arrow club, which I didn't do but it's a great option. If you live locally you get a lot of things for your one time price for life. They also have music trivia a few times a month. I would highly recommend coming to this establishment. read more

It's a nice place with a nice ambiance and decent food, but frankly I don't go there much. No complaints about the food or service but it's just too expensive. $56 for two single decker club sandwiches, some fries for each, a coke, and a glass of water (including 20% tip) is just too much for lunch for two at a bar in Central Pennsylvania. Had a short wait on a Friday night. 2 different seating areas. We were seated in the bar area. Plenty of TVs and a variety of shows. Lots of local beers and drinks. Clean restaurant and a great atmosphere. Our waitress did a great job. Got the special of the night. It is in the picture. The ribs were so tender and boneless. They were on point the last time I went, and intend to go back. the food was good value, and good. the kitchen was happy with us, and did a good job. the waitress was eccentric, would not give her name because she would answer to anything, she said. Stopped in for a lunch. My sister had some wing in sauce. Her wings needed to be cooked more. I ordered cheese bites. Very good. Then I ordered chicken stripes. They were like rubber. Fake chicken or gross chopped mashed fried shaped strips. The waitress never came back after bringing the order. So I caved and went in for some wings. The obvious taste of frozen wings and lack of sauce to cover it was tasty! Then I got a side of frozen fries with canned nacho cheese, even better! I left a 5-star review back in 2014. After the last two visits semi-recently, I unfortunately have to downgrade this establishment and probably will check out some other places when I'm in Bellefonte again. They've clearly focused on the brewing aspect over the last few years and the quality AND quantity of their food has suffered immensely. Our orders have been missing items both of the previous visits (and we usually get takeout, so by the time we realized this, we just had to deal with it). This time we had 3 sandwiches on our order, that were supposed to come with chips; no one got their chips. That was the least of the offenses though. Our stromboli was smaller than what they used to make under the Home Delivery name (a trend I had mentioned back in '14 I hoped would not continue, though it looks like it has). Not only this, but the ingredients were next to pathetic. They threw a very small amount of cheese in the center of the 'boli before folding it over, along with a skimpy helping of other ingredients also limited to a small area in the middle. What this equated to was a whole lot of bread and nothing else for the 2-3" around the outside. With the ever-shrinking portion size, this doesn't leave much sustenance...very disappointing. Also, the Godmother, one of my favorite sandwiches from anywhere ever, was terrible. This sandwich used to be amazing. Both of the last two times we've eaten here though, the ingredients have tasted withered and old, and the chicken, like most of their other dishes, seems to shrink every time we go. This most recent time, the chicken filled up about 1/4 of the center of the sandwich- all the other bites left you with a mouthful of lettuce, tomato and bread. And the flat-bread was pretty awful, it was so paper-thin, it actually tore open when you picked the sandwich up. It was also slimy and soggy which made it difficult to hold on to and pretty unappetizing as a whole. Our party ordered 3 Godmothers, a stromboli and a reuben. The only half-way satisfied customer was the guy that got the reuben, so I guess they still know how to make that sandwich...just make sure you remind them it's supposed to come with chips. read more

Meh is all I can really say. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. I found the sauce on the Cajun pasta to be heavy and lacking in seasoning. Wings were nice sized, crispy, but neither I nor my husband could tell any flavor difference between regular hot and the mango sauce. Pizza was good, very cheesy and a lot of sauce, so if you're into that, get the pizza. Their beer left something to be desired. The first one we tried was pretty good and fruity, but very light. The beer wasn't awful, and it was super reasonable. The rest was just "meh". Bartender didn't much care to explain any beers. And the atmosphere was boring. I suspect they're trying too hard to become a chain restaurant, though we didn't try any food. It's like if you had to take your entire family out for dinner, but you also REALLY wanted to go to a brewery for beer. I strongly suspect my 6 y.o. daughter would've been pleased with the kids menu, and my 90 y.o. grandma would've found some sort of blue plate special-esque offering. The beer was not so bad, tried a flight (it came on a round plastic plate, weird) and it was reasonably priced. This is where they gain the two stars. The vibe and atmosphere is odd for a brewery. It can only be described as the Denny's of breweries. I imagine they had a restaurant/bar first and then decided to make some beers, but I could be wrong. It was an under decorated sports bar at best. The main stream beers on tap outnumbered their own, which I also found odd. What makes someone want to try new things (this makes me thinks they had "regulars" before they started in the brewery business). We didn't try the food, so I can not leave an honest review on that aspect. The bartender didn't seem much interested in talking, I asked where the beer was made and he just kinda pointed and said "right next door".
