I have rented a storage unit from Public Storage since last February 2025. Within the first three…read moremonths, they raised my rent by $50, every 3 months they raise it, I went from renting a unit for $120 and within a year my rent is $200, which is insane. I've had storage units for four years never had a facility raise it that much that quickly. The second thing is if you don't pay by the 20th they will cut the locks off of your unit within a month, within Three weeks and take photos for auction because by the first or second week of the second month, they will sell your stuff so you don't even get a grace. Period if you're having a hard time, cut it take pictures of your things and and on top of the rent, $30 late fee, they add a lein fee of around $160. Within one month, if you're not able to pay it on time, to save your belongings you pay over $450, then they charge you for a new lock that you never asked for and put it inside your unit and give you a time limit to return it. It's all around just not a very good company to use for a long period of time if you're going to get your stuff out within a month then sure it's an option because it is clean and it is nice that the gates are accessible by Remote, but all the other negative stressful actions that Public Storage does greatly exceeds the positives. It feels as if it's setup so you lose everything you own and they gain property to sell. I would not recommend.

Also problems paying the bill. When you try to do it over the phone, after you enter all information it says processing, processing, hangs up on you, and does not process your payment. The ever so helpful call center tells you there's a problem with your card and your bank. There's not...I called them. Not sure what time they actually close, but hopefully it's before you get off work if you need anything. The call center people are rude and useless.

There was nothing that mentioned that the rate we got was a special limited time rate, even when we came by the facility we were told nothing about a limited rate. I asked the employee who helped us, how often should we expect increase and how much. He told me once a year and that's is usually around 10%. For the last five months we have been paying our lease agreement and just got notice of the 250% increase. That's outrageous!

The not so good - they are a little on the high side and no discount for renting multiple unit (we rented 3 large units). Also the regular units are not insect and mice proof. Found both in our stuff (dead).
