I found Robert on Yelp and due to the good reviews I read, I decided to call him for mainly a DG, laying landscaping rocks for ground cover, and possibly pavers for a front yard. Robert called me the same day and stopped by later that afternoon to view the job and provide an estimate. He asked me to text him the front yard measurements for pavers so he can also provide an estimate with the other work. He did tell me that it was better to hire a landscape architect and referred me to someone he knows. A week and half later, I had not received the estimate for the DG and other work and I texted him to ask if he was still interested but he never responded. I understand that people are busy with other clients but if one is serious about their work and keeping clients happy, a simple courtesy text would suffice whether they are still interested or just too busy and I sincerely would understand. I guess it's better to find out one's work ethic before hiring and come to find out, they end up not working out. It's unfortunate because I got the impression that Robert seems to be very knowledgeable and helpful...I've hired someone else since. read more

The first time I needed Robert's services, it was about three months ago. I needed a fairly large yard (corner lot) mowed, day of. I could not find anyone willing to take the job in such short notice, understandable, I waited last minute to get it done. I was quoted over 700 for a yard clean out and trimming of one tree. I was told my "non mow and go" pricing would be 120 a month for weekly service including weeding of the planters beds. So I decided to give them a shot because other mow and go companies left me disappointed. What a mistake. The clean out left my planter beds with weeds. I was told the weekly services would eventually clean out the rest of the beds. Wrong! It's been months now with excuse after excuse. The weekly services. They were just like any other mow and go company I've had. Except I was charged 75 for mow and go by other companies not 120! Every time I called to complain I was fed a bunch of bs and brushed aside. To this day I still have weeds in my planter bed. Plus my grass now is riddled with crab grass from the gardeners not cleaning there mowers. I have everyone else's crab grass in my yard now. The last straw was receiving a bill for $240. When I spoke with Robert I was told I did not pay in May. That's crap! I forwarded a carbon copy of the check I write him. If you don't stay on top of your payment you may be double charged from bad book keeping. I also asked why am I paying the full month when the workers did not come on Memorial Day? His response was some months have 5 weeks. Some days rain. Some days are holidays. It all evens out. No it does not even out! I payed for WEEKLY service at a set price! Not a set price for when your workers feel like it! Very unprofessional! Please look elsewhere and don't pay a high price for the same mow and go service. 07/26/16 Robert is a joke. I was never behind on any payments. I forwarded a carbon copy of the check I sent him ON TIME THAT HE CASHED! Poor book keeping. I watered my lawns nightly during the seeding stages as instructed. I only managed to grow more crab grass from Roberts lawn mower blades that were never cleaned from other jobs. And Robert. Just because your workers eat there lunch on my front lawn for 15-20 minutes, it doesn't mean they spent half an hour at my house doing yard work. I could not believe my eyes when one late morning I saw his two workers on my front lawn with a small Webber propane bbq. Who the heck bbq's on someone's front lawn!?!?My parents dropped Robert as a gardener as well after poor services (mow and go), burning one of the bushes (using a gas powered trimmer way too quickly), and stealing 6 of her baby sago palms from the bottom of the tree. Don't believe a word this con artist tells you. Well. Now Robert has sent me an email saying he will take me to small claims court for non payment of his horrible services. Robert and his team did an excellent job working on our backyard makeover. We had Robert come by our house over 2.5 years ago to give us a quote on doing some work to our backyard. Instead of taking on the first project, he recommended that we get a design created for our backyard so that it would be easier in the future to breakdown the final vision into smaller projects. Many others would have just taken our money and left us with future headaches, instead, Robert was thinking ahead and saved us from possibly having to redo previously completed work in our backyard. Fast forward 2.5 yeas, with a design concept in hand, we had Robert come back out and review our requested first project. He was timely in his initial visit and was able to give us a rough estimate on the spot and then followed up with a formal estimate the next day. Robert and his team are very efficient as they used light-duty machinery to remove concrete, trench, excavate and till our backyard. He's small crew was able to get a lot done in a short period of time. The machinery he uses allows him to dig a hole for a tree using an auger attachment in 5 minutes, if done by manual means, it would take at least 1 hour. We were very pleased with Roberts communication, he had daily project updates for us and would reach out to use for confirmation on details before officially moving forward. We will be having Robert and his team back in a few weeks to install plants, additional trees and also set up our drip irrigation system. We will be keeping Robert busy as there are already plans for him to do work in our front yard as well. Robert is DA MAN!!! I left the house this morning and noticed my front porch sprinklers were on and thought that was odd. (My sprinklers normally are set to go on in the evening). To my surprise, I come back in the evening and they were still on! I freaked out as I saw a massive river in my front lawn running down the street caused by my sprinklers! My first reaction was "Crap! The city is going to fine me since we have a statewide drought alert". Last time I heard, they were handing out $500.00 fines for irresponsible water usage. I immediately tried turning off all the water valves I could find in hopes of stopping the sprinklers from going. NO LUCK! I quickly went to Yelp and searched for a high star reference for sprinkler repair. The first one that popped up was Robert! I dialed the number and Robert personally picked up the call. It was already 5:30pm but Robert could tell that I was freaking out and told me although he was done for the day, he would swing by and see what he could do. In 20 minutes, he reliably arrived in his vehicle. I was expecting a standard van or truck but Robert pulls up in his pickup truck with a massive hitch in tow the size of his pickup! He immediately assessed my issue and quickly turned off the main water pipe from the street and started to inspect all my sprinklers for the error. He explained to me that I had a bad pin in one of my sprinklers and immediately went to work to repair the problem. He goes to his hitch and inside is an entire workshop! I mean he had all types of pipes, valves, screws....you name it, he had it! He seemed to have the whole sprinkler/plumbing section of a Home Depot! My gosh, you don't see this type of inventory anywhere!. He tells me that he tries to keep everything in stock so no time or water is wasted when he is on the job! After half an hour, the problem is fixed and I have a whole brand new replacement Rain Bird sprinkler unit. I highly doubt I will have another problem from the front sprinklers! I am so thankful to Robert for coming to my rescue! He only charged me $50.00 for labor and the cost for the part. There was no "emergency" surcharge where he could have easily added! We have had ongoing sprinkler issues since we moved into our home 6 years ago. Over this time our gardener has worked on the sprinklers, and we had two sprinkler firms come out and do repairs and replace equipment. But even with this, our sprinklers would just not work correctly. The system would make horrendous banging noises, areas would be dry and other areas soaked. Finally the system pretty much stopped functioning and we were back to hand watering. I saw the write-ups for Robert's Complete Care Landscape on Yelp and decided to give our sprinklers another chance. Robert came out and looked over our system and gave us a very fair quote and said he would come back the next day to work on our system. Sure enough, he came back and within a few hours all of our valves were replaced and we had a new controller. And he diagnosed the main problem and repaired it. All for a reasonable fee, and much less that what we had paid for other services that had not done nearly as much work and had not replaced any equipment. Those who know me, know I could be a bit of an extremist and demanding when it comes to detail, and services to be completed, especially when having to do with our home. Recently we purchased a fixer upper home in the city of Whittier, CA and its quite the fixer upper. Still tons of work needing to be done inside and out. Our first experience with Robert was just after closing escrow of our new home. We started some project inside the home and before we knew it we had a pile of trash in our drive way we needed to get rid of. This included drywall, carpet, tile, laminate, and mirrors. We had heard from family and friends of the services offered by Robert's company and quite frankly I was more than ready to see if what everyone we know has been talking about. Robert from the moment we talked over the phone (of which by the way he returned our call the same day) set the tone professionally and was very respectful. He was aware we were in a hurry to get our matter resolved and he personally came out truck ready to get the job done. Not only did he ensure every question or doubt was answered, as well as ensure all surroundings were safe for my family...but he also was able to quote and assist us on other projects we have in mind down the road. Robert also made suggestions to us with his experience and knowledge based on how our home was positioned, providing us with recommendations for landscaping, soft scaping and hardscaping. This led us to right away again use his services for the removal of an avocado tree which was about 20-25 feet high which sat right in front of our home and quite frankly took away from the view of our home and huge roots everywhere which made it difficult to have a level floor for grass. He informed us and provided us with an estimate for the cost and in turn the time it would take his company to complete the job. Roberts Company worked efficiently, safely and quick. What others initially had informed us may take the whole day as the tree needed to be trimmed, cut down, and taken completely out (roots and all), as well as dispose of....was completed in a few hours. It was lunch time for me at work when my wife let me know they had arrived and began working, and before I could even get out of work, my wife had informed me they were done...and quite honestly I couldn't believe something like that could be accomplished so fast. We called late Friday morning and he was here by 5pm the same day to do an estimate. Our yard looked like a jungle and had a lot of cleaning up, pruning, and trimming that was way overdue. He and his team did a great job. The front hedges were trimmed well and evenly and he cleaned out dead plants and vines from two flowerbeds and also sprayed the weeds and checked our sprinklers. He was here for almost 3 hours and charged $250. Regular mowing is going to be about $65 for twice a month. He was professional, on time, and really did a great job. read more

I initially began texting people/companies that I found on Yelp asking if they would possibly be able to give me a 'guesstimate' on some work if I texted them some pictures. After reading Robert's yelp reviews, we decided to give him a call to get an estimate. He came the very same day. He was polite, professional, and very knowledgeable. We discussed what we wanted to do to our back yard. Originally, we wanted to put synthetic turf because of its low maintenance, but when we told him It was primarily for our puppies, he explained to us that synthetic is much too hot for pets' paw pads, so we decided to go with sod instead. We had previously gotten 2 other estimates, but It was Robert's professionalism and courteous demeanor that made us feel comfortable hiring him to not only our lawn, but re-do our retaining wall as well, which was falling apart. He demolished the old wall (73 linear feet) in just one day, and rebuilt the new one in 3, and installed sod in one! Total time for completion was 5 days, as promised! While the work was being done, the yard was a scary mess, but in the end, we got our paradise! Robert also goes above and beyond what he promises. We decided not to install an irrigation system due to cost, but he went ahead and did the initial set up, at no extra charge! On top of that, just 5 days after the work was completed, my dog dug up a pretty big hole and ruined the sod! I called Robert to see how much he would charge to repair, and said he'd repair It at no charge. I would highly recommend Robert.
