William and Wyatt are the heroes of this place. I needed to replace my cracked window. Another mobile service came but wouldn't complete the repair because they don't work on the window motor. But Auto World opened my car gave me an estimate, called their parts supplier, and fixed it within the hour. I saw them also help another customer and they were fair fast and courteous. The value was definitely worth my time! They also have the skills sets. The other vendor said I needed to replace the motor part, but these guys simply re-aligned my window track. Could not be happier I brought my 2002 Ford Ranger to Auto World Automotive. I was recommended to head there from my AAA Battery Technician who tried (in vain) to get my truck to start. He gave me a card and told me to call, that Auto World Automotive was reasonably priced and would do a great job diagnosing the problem and fix it in no time. I called the day before I was arranging to have my truck towed there and spoke with Wyatt. Got my info, gave me an estimate over the phone, and told me to call when the tow truck was on its way. Got there and they immediately got to work on my truck. Diagnosed the suspected alternator replacement. The quote matched the phone estimate, and they had me up and running in less than an hour. I do not recommend this business. Our family took our cars here for years when Randy owned it. Randy was always professional. I haven't used them in years and decided to give them a try recently. They fixed the problem. However, I came to pick up my car after a long trip on a Sunday and my car was dead. Had to call AAA for a jump. I left a message Sunday as well as Monday and never got a call back. I called the Tuesday and Wyatt was extremely disrespectful over the phone. No apology. Just kept talking over me and then he hung up the phone. I showed up in person a few days later and spoke with Robert the owner as I wanted him to know how badly Wyatt handled this. I would think as an owner, you would want your office staff to have good customer service skills. Well, he was rude too. I was shocked. Not sure what is going on here but treating your customers with respect is number one. I will not be going back nor will I recommend this service to anyone. Very unprofessional. read more

I have an old Yukon XL Denali (2001) that I'd neglected for years and it quit wanting start and function. I was ready to just donate the beast as I figured it wasn't worth getting it running again. A friend recommended Auto World Automotive beforecI throw in the towel on it. Had it towed in and within a few hours they had it running again...so impressed I had then do a whole bunch a basic maintenance stuff I've avoided for years too! After being told by another mechanic today that my 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee engine was blown, I couldn't believe it because I just Smogged it! So being a woman and suspicious of certain mechanics..I stopped by Auto World for a second opinion. I was expecting to make an appointment, but then Robert came from behind a car he was working on to look at my Jeep. He and Wyatt, the Service Manager, were so kind and found the "check engine " light was a simple fix. Then Robert told me to wait a minute while he finished another car and he'd check some other things. After testing and visual inspection on the rack, turns out my engine wasn't leaking anything and was found to be running fine! I am so relieved to have found Robert, an honest, caring mechanic who took the time to check my car for safety and unneeded repairs, and Wyatt his Service Manager, so pleasant and helpful on the phone too! Where have you been all my life? Professional, experienced, knowledgeable, fair, I can't tell you how grateful I am to know my Truck is not only repaired, but repaired properly. I feel safe and secure and Robert and Wyatt have restored my confidence in good, honest, business practices and getting what I paid for. I had a substantial amount of work done, motor, suspension, steering, brakes, heating, A/C, wiring, and a whole lot more. I had paid for a lot of the work from "those other guys" who did not know what they were doing, or did not care. Robert was very patient, took the time to help me document what was not ever done, done wrong or wrong parts, etc. by the previous shop so that I understood, saw all the dirty, shotty, parts removed from my Truck and answered all of my questions so that I understood and had documentation to back my claims and recover my losses. I wish I could give this a zero star review, took my truck in to get it looked at for vct-solenoid and they tell me I have a bad oil pump and they recommend that I need a new engine at only $8,600. I've never had any issues with my oil pump or oil pressure but after picking up my truck and it shutting off on me not more than half a mile from their shop from no oil pressure, as I stated above never been a issue, I'm having it towed to a shop that's not out for your money. I would never recommend this place to anyone. read more

I went in for a routine break job. They put break pads on warped and cracked rotors. When I bought the truck back to complain again about the brakes they said I must have over heated the rotors on the Grape Vine. I Don't Drive my truck to L. A. I drive my Pilot." Rude, unprofessional, lack of knowledge. Worst mechanic shop I have ever been to. They couldn't even diagnose a simple problem that had to do with my starter. Took it to another shop and it was repaired the same day. If the repair issue was my only problem and they had friendly service, I would possibly give it more than one star, but on top of their lack of knowledge, the owner and his son are two of the most rude people I have ever dealt with. They can't acknowledge their mistakes or admit when they're wrong - and they lash out at the customer, acting as if they are stupid and will even curse at you. I feel sorry for their employees who seem very nice and just trying to make a living. This place is absolutely ridiculous. read more

This shop has recently acquired new owners and they couldn't be more helpful. I am a very busy single parent with very little knowledge about cars. I called 3 different repair shops before finding this shop, and all of them quoted me 150-200$ minimum just for diagnostic work. Brian charged NOTHING, and after discovering the issue, literally had it resolved in a matter of minutes. If you were a customer under the previous owners and had a bad experience, I would highly encourage you to check them out again under new ownership! read more

I actually agree with the other reviews here. I went here three times to get my car fixed because they were close by. Big mistake. The first time I was charged a huge fee just to get my car checked. The repair they wanted to do was estimated at over $500! I said I can't afford that. He lowered it to $420 and I just said no. I can't afford it. A few months later, I took my car here for an emergency repair. Water pump was broken and coolant was leaking everywhere. They fixed my car on the same day but did not finish the job. The coolant in my car was not flushed nor replaced. I told them before I pulled out that the "coolant" light was on. They said it will turn off later. I had them check anyway and they all realized that there was no coolant in it even though they charged me for it. They apologized and put coolant in it. Last time I tried it there, one of the older mechanics started shouting at me for not maintaining my car correctly. He said bring the car in and see what they can do. I didn't. I refused to go back there and will never take my car there. I think they overcharge and only pick and choose the customers they like. I agree with the other reviewers that they belittle some customers and have seen them mistreat one other customer during my visit. I wonder if they'll actually respond to these reviews. Even so, I don't care. I no longer live near them. I have since found a different shop in my neighborhood that trumps this one. read more

Was referred here by the tow company after my car overheated. They told me it was one thing, and then after replacing the part and charging me, they told me it was something else that was much more expensive. The mechanics were thoroughly UNPROFESSIONAL, and I am suspicious of why I was referred to them by the tow company in the first place. I'm pretty sure they didn't do an inspection of the vehicle before doing their repairs, and it took serious chiding to get them to not charge me for the labor. They still charged me for the parts I didn't need though. I would give them 0 STARS if I could. read more

This auto repair business should come with warning of "Consumer Proceed with Caution" as these folks lack the technical expertise to repair vehicles. I have an older Suburban and brought it to Auto World numerous times over several months to repair a service light issue. After the first attempt and their "repair", the warning light came on again. I returned several times for repairs and on each ocassion the repair was something different. It is my opinion that they "guess" what repair is needed because the error code on the diagnostic tool may not be specific and their lack the technical skill to diagnose the problem. But in all fairness, if you just want your spark plugs changed or a car wash, this might be the place for you. Never again. read more

Went in with a check engine light on,spoke with Brian,he was very professional and friendly. I told him what I was told about the codes he said that was good but he would like to do his own diagnostic test on my truck and double check everything.this would cost me nothing.after checking out other shops I chose Auto World Automotive made an appointment.brought my truck in after awhile Brian called and said that it was only a small problem and could be fixed quickly and the cost was reasonable and well under the other shops quotes as well as theirs .again they were very friendly and helpful. O'Reilly Auto Parts in the Park-n-Shop Plaza recommended this shop. The first time I took my car here was for an oil leak. They replaced the oil pan gasket and that was that. After that, they recharged my AC for $40 as opposed to Jiffy Lube who charges over $100. Just last week, my car was smoking & leaking some kind of fluid. I took it in on a Monday and they called and said that my axle seal was busted, but my brakes also looked bad. They replaced the seal for $200 and did the front brakes as well. (the seal was a $10 part and the labor was $190). I picked up my car Monday afternoon. By the next day, it was still smoking & leaking so I took it back. They had my car an ENTIRE WEEK, without providing a straight-forward answer about how to fix it! They eventually tried to tell me that my entire transmission needed to be taken apart and that my clutch needed to be replaced and that it would cost $1300 (incl a credit for $200) and that it would also take 4-5 DAYS. W T F??? Hell no! I called my trusty mechanic in Hayward (who I used to take my car to when I still lived in that area) and he told me that if that were really the case, the cost shouldn't be more than $900 and should take 5 hours. I had AAA tow my car immediately to my trusty mechanic in Hayward (Discount Auto Body BTW). I will NEVER take my car there again! They are just another typical car repair shop trying to get over on me. I didn't care too much for the main guy there either, Randy. I can cuss like a sailor, but I know when it's appropriate and when it's not. Cussing, venting frustrations and making racial, derogatory comments in front of your customers is unacceptable and unprofessional. He was just obnoxious, annoying and seemed to be acting out for attention. Lame. read more
