Jess at Best Friends Pet Grooming Salon is nothing short of MAGIC. I don't use that word lightly --…read morewhat she did for my Frenchie, Louie, honestly blew me away. Nail trims have always been a huge issue for us, especially at the vet. They would leave his nails too long, and over time the quick kept growing out, turning his nails into literal bear claws. It got to the point where I didn't think we'd ever get them back to a normal, healthy length. I originally found Jess for my labradoodle Mabel and just happen to ask her about my Louie's nails . Not only did she trim his nails as short as safely possible, she did it with incredible gentleness and patience. Louie was calm, comfortable, and completely at ease -- which NEVER happens. But what truly sets Jess apart is her knowledge and care. She's actively working on helping the vein recede over time so his nails can return to a normal length instead of those "eagle talons." Who even does that?! That level of attention, skill, and dedication is so rare. Jess doesn't just groom -- she genuinely cares about your dog's long-term health and comfort. I'm beyond grateful we found her. If you have a dog with difficult nails or any grooming challenges, Jess is the one. Truly one of a kind.

I hope this can be resolved without me having to call again and be lied to *again.* I've had public-facing jobs almost my whole life, and I know how people can be. I'm not one of those people. This has just been an all-around poor experience. :/ *********** Update: Just tried calling and they insisted that no one from Petco responds to Google reviews and were kind of rude about it. Suggested that maybe corporate would respond and I said, ok, then corporate told me to call you, which they then also refuted. Went from two stars down to one. Should be zero. Avoid. See photos for his paws. I'll spare you the butt pic, ha. ------ I hate having to leave this review. I don't much care about how my dog looks (he's always cute), but because he's a mini schnauzer, he requires grooming. I don't expect perfection from a Petco groom, but I do expect someone to do their best. What I got was almost nothing done. His paws were not trimmed/cleaned up (nails were clipped but still a bunch of hair in his paw pads), it looks like he wasn't trimmed around the face or ears *at all* with the exception of his eyebrows, which is actually one of the things meant to be longer on a schnauzer. There was also no sanitary trim. He still has a ton of hair around his butt and pee area. All that said, the groomer was very nice and pleasant (the two stars are for this only), but I'd rather have someone rude that will actually do the job, ya know?

Hubby and I found this place last year while I was still preggers. We were able to bring both our…read moredogs and wash them ourselves. Although it was convenient, it definitely was not easy (my dogs are cray) and I'd rather just pay someone to clean my dogs for me. They do have everything you need, though. The tubs are high and they give you instruction on how to use the soap and water and blowers. They provide you with aprons and as many towels as you need but again, we have Shibas and when they're shedding, it can be horrendous. Which brings me to about a month ago when I was searching for a groomer that could really make a dent in their shedding issues. Shibas don't really shed badly throughout the year but when spring and winter come, they have what can only be described as fursplosions, where they shed their undercoats and the fur comes off of them in tufts. It's crazy. Their butts look like shapely little Corgy butts, the Kardashians of the dog world. I requested a quote through the Yelp app and Dana got back to me super fast. I ended up making appointments for the next day. They offer the Furminator treatment for an extra $10 and it's worth every penny. We've gotten our dogs back from other groomers and you can still see tons and tons of fur coming off but this is probably the first and only time we've gotten our dogs back home and after petting them a few hundred times, not one hair fell to the ground. They got ALL the shed fur, ya'll! That like, NEVER happens! The cost is reasonable, about $45 per dog which is a little bit more that what we've paid elsewhere but I don't mind paying if they're getting out every single shed fur that exists. We don't have to bring them often so I am definitely going to use them again.
