Our Honeybee has been going to Buddy's for about 3 months now and it has truly become her favorite place in the world! The staff are super friendly and know her well by now, the minute she's out of the car she's ready to unleash her mongrel mode of fun and energy. The absolute worst dog daycare in NY never mind Westchester. First my dog tore his ACL at this daycare and they did NOTHING but deny it until he was limping and the vet verified. I decided to try asked for him to play w the little dogs sure enough he came home with bleeding nails. The owner sue at first said she would pay the vet bill after NO ONE called me about my dog. Than I picked up his food and very pricey CBD which also was broken. The customer service was awful along w the lack of staff and assistance for the dogs. They do NOT even have enough staff. I am now in the process of a civil action lawsuit against the facility. The most dangerous place for any dog. Please be mindful. read more

Would you trust Buddy's with your dog if you were told he had a seizure while being groomed after the fact only when you asked why the grooming took so long????? Karen has groomed both our dogs for a number of years even, before she joined Buddys. She has always done an outstanding job and our dogs like her.  For the first time, we had a very distressing experience last Friday which I feel compelled to share in more detail. When Liz (one of the owners) brought Teddy to us after Karen was finished, we asked why the grooming took so long, she nonchalantly told us that he had a seizure. When we asked for details, she said that he was shaking uncontrollably. Both my husband and I tried to reach Karen, who did not responded to our text messages to find out what happend. On Saturday, I called Buddys to speak to Karen but spoke to Liz again since Karen was not there. Liz said she'd ask Karen to contact me on Monday and when I asked again what happened to Teddy, this time she told me that she was "spinning and peeing" but that she couldn't say for sure because she wasn't there. I never heard from Karen. Karen doesn't care to give us the full story of what happened to our dog. and Liz as an owner, doesn't care to find out what happend at her business. Seizures can be potentially serious, therefore we do not believe that it is unreasonable  that we want to know exactly what happened to our Teddy. We also believe we should have been notified while he was having the seizure. We would have taken him to the vet immediately and not have Karen continue grooming him. Karen doesn't care enough to respond to our messages and Liz as an owner of Buddy's doesn't think she has any responsibility to find out.  We thank God that Teddy is OK. I've been looking for a daycare for my sweet mini poodle for nearly a year and the ones I saw in the area were not acceptable, in my opinion. I'm fussy about where my dog spends hours of her day when I can't see what she's up to. I stopped in at Buddy's (my assistant mentioned she has her dog groomed here-I didn't even know it existed) just to check it out and Liz greeted me with enthusiasm and explained everything about daycare at Buddy's. A few days later my pup went for her interview and started attending. I was impressed that the staff suggested she not stay longer than 4-5 hours the first day in case she got overwhelmed and didn't want to go back. I appreciated the caution and care for my dog. After 2 full days of daycare my sweet dog loves it! She gets excited when we arrive and comes home tired and happy. The staff has already gotten to know her. I am so thankful for this place and the staff-it's so good to have a reliable, fun place for my dog to go when I have to work. Highly recommend! read more

When we get to their building, he jumps out of the car and never looks back to say goodbye. Eileen, Susan, and their staff of pro's really make this place a home away from home for my dog. We LOVE Buddy's! They recently moved to a new location and it is even better than before- much more space and an outdoor area! They still mix all the dogs together which I love because it helps my dog stay socialized with all kinds of dogs. They have doggie pools (and are even getting a full size pool soon!). My dog has been coming back even more exhausted than she usually does, which is a win-win. I had my little Candy boarded for 6 days for the first time. She is 11 years old and blind. We are rarely apart; she even went to work with me every day before I retired. I can't believe how well she did at Buddy's. I got a good vibe when I took her for her interview; the staff were very friendly. She did well with a trial half day of doggy day care; I think it's a great requirement so both doggy and owner know what to expect and to be sure she could handle being around a lot of dogs. I also like the long list of required vaccinations; it protects everyone. I will definitely take her for some day care sessions so she continues to get used to other dogs and will also board her with Buddy's in the future. I can't express my relief and joy with how wonderful this was for my dog. I brought her home and she went right back to her normal routines and wasn't the least bit anxious. My dog was once one of the friendliest dogs I'd ever met. He would force me to let him go up to every single person he saw so he could say hello. I was convinced that he had the makings of a therapy dog. I worked with him daily with more than one professional trainer and they all thought he would be perfect as a therapy dog. He LOVED all people and animals alike, that is until we started bringing him to daycare at Buddy's Barking Lot. After he started going there we noticed an immediate change in his behavior with strangers, rather than going up to them gleefully he was terrified of them. Anyone that reached out a hand to pet him would send him jumping back and running as far away as the leash would allow him to go. In the past, an outstretched hand meant a lot of licking and love from my pooch. We didn't make the association with daycare at first, and our dog continued to go to Buddy's Barking Lot for a few months and his fearful behavior increased. During training, he was tested for fear behaviors both prior to Buddy's and after. Prior to daycare the trainer banged chairs, yelled loudly, did everything that would scare even a human and my dog didn't so much as bat an eye but after daycare my dog is now even afraid of the sound of a cell phone ringing and fabric. I am not saying someone abused him there or anything I am just saying something OBVIOUSLY happened to him during his time at Buddy's that brought about these fears. It breaks my heart to see my once super friendly dog be terrified of strangers who just want to give him love. read more

We've been bringing our mid-sized girl to Buddy's for over 2 years now. She goes once a week for an all-day play with other dogs, and she loves it (and comes home exhausted,,, happy, ready for dinner and a nap)! The staff know and welcome her like family, and the dogs have attentive, professional supervision and care. We've boarded her at Buddy's several times, as long as 10 days on one occasion. We love that there are no pens and the dogs can hang out on sofas or doggie beds (or on the bed with their human care giver), which is just like home. And again, she comes home happy. We've also had her groomed there, and Carol does a great job with our girl. We make it a groom-and-play day... happy pup. read more

I have been taking my 1.5 year old Goldendoodle there since she was a wee pup. I chose Buddy's because it was an uncaged environment. All dogs go through an interview process to determine whether they are a good fit. She learned all there is to know about making friends both 4 legged and 2. She goes there 2-3x/week and is happy to jump out and go inside. That says a lot to me about her happy experiences inside! When she's happy, I'm happy! Just came from a quick nail trim appointment here. Tough to find - it's alllllll the way at the back of the lot - building E. Grooming was on the second floor, which was a little tough for my dog with arthritis to come down from. The woman doing the grooming was working with another dog, and instead of coming out from the room to talk to me, had me come in because she "didn't want to leave the dog unattended". Total pro move in my book. She didn't even flinch or ask questions when I said my girl wouldn't get up on the table for the trim (she's very anxious and panics). She had her nails trimmed, dremmeled, and the fur between the pads trimmed while getting praise and happy words. I could tell the people working there actually like working with dogs. read more
