We've been taking our dog, Sadie, there 1-2 times a week for about 3 months. We bring her to socialize and we've picked up a 2nd day because she loves being there so much. I am retired, so she's strictly there for fun and socializing. When we pull up and park the car, open the door, she runs to the door and waits for me to open it. That tells all. That's the barometer! The Center is clean, fully staffed with trained handlers, they're always accommodating (full or half day) and most importantly, all furries are given a lot of love, activity and attention! This is not just a walk, it is hour long hike with other dogs. Our dogs come home happy and tired! During the trek, Jon sends us pictures as we can see how they are doing. As a result, our dogs are so well socialized, they transition to multiple new setting and easily adjust to new people and other pets. From the very beginning, about five years ago, I was impressed by the caring, loving way that my boy and I were treated. No matter how many times I brought him there, everything was explained gently and thoroughly. Munchkin was 16 years old. I could see severe changes in him. He lost interest in walking the neighborhood, he lost weight, stopped eating and drinking. I knew that his time had come. The procedure was humane and compassionate and although my heart was shattered, I knew that I was doing what was best for my boy. Dr. Tarasoff was wonderful. She said all the right things and made it as easy as possible for me. Yesterday, I received a handwritten card from Dr. Tarasoff and her staff. Enclosed was a clipping of Munchkin's hair and a paw print. It was so kind and thoughtful and I will treasure it always. I highly recommend the Animal Hospital of White Plains. I have never experienced such compassion. Thank you, Dr. Tarasoff and all of your associates.

We also had some discussions about coming an entire hour before the allotted 2 hour time window without my notification (blamed on hot weather the one time I addressed it... however I have central air so my dogs are just fine)- that I did address saying I didn't think it was okay for them to come early and not let me know, so I would know I should get home an hour earlier to let my dog out. Partly my fault, I did not want to address these issues because they were so kind to my sick dog that I felt as if I should go easy on them. We ultimately had to leave the service because of pricing (they charge full price for two dogs when comparable services charge the same amount for up to two dogs). I couldn't fathom paying full price for a second dog when I knew many times the first dog wasn't getting the full benefit of the service I paid my hard earned money for.
