I can't believe it's taken me almost 8 years to write this review. I don't know why, especially as I've been singing WYP's praises loud and proud to all who own a dog (and sometimes to those who don't) for all that time. There is so much I love about WYP. For starters, it's a small, woman owned business. And the woman who owns it is just fantastic. Christina runs a warm, friendly, caring, welcoming, and nurturing daycare for dogs that I swear rivals the best of human nursery schools. The same staff has worked there for years which is always the best sign of a well-run organization. I've watched with pride as she expanded the business over the years and has maintained the same exceptional quality of care and grooming. Special appreciation for Lacey, a stellar groomer and Pippi's other mother, Ali and John who always make our experience more personal. Frankly, if you don't have a dog, you should get one just so you can also go to WYP. read more

TERRIBLE! AVOID!!- the staff will not let you speak to the groomer you request. They are lazy. my dog gets regular brushes and baths but sometimes you need the help of a professional. They shaved my dog to look like a mole rat and I cried! it was cold outside and had been brought in with a beautiful coat of fur and left naked. $200! I've been to many groomers over the year and have never had this terrible experience. Don't go there. read more

First timer here! I was recommended to check this place out after seeing Westchester magazine award them for best dog groomer. It was our puppy's first grooming. They did such a great job and he looked and smelled so good! It's always so hard with a new puppy but I'm so happy with the outcome. Staff was super friendly and welcoming. I was left frustrated with our grooming here. I was told our pup suffered bilateral aural hematomas while "shaking his head during grooming" and to bring him to the vet- HOWEVER I quickly found that to be false and our dog actually had bilateral EAR LACERATIONS- very different than hematomas. II was told that I needed to emergently bring him to his vet and the groomer explained over the phone what a hematoma is and why it happened. I paid the FULL BILL of $180 and headed to the vet ER- the only way to get a same day appointment. Long story short- the vet informed me that these were not hematomas- they were lacerations from being shaved. I was immediately disappointed and watched on as my pup had his ear lacerations glued shut at the tip from a laceration- not because he was shaking but because he was cut by the grooming blade. I would have been fine with this all if I was told from the onset that he was cut by the razor blade and not informed that this was definitely a hematoma and needed veterinary care. I find it hard to believe that his ear could be cut by the blade, causing a laceration, and this to go unseen and then mistaken for a hematoma. I am left both frustrated and disappointed. Not only am I now stuck with a $180 grooming bill but ALSO a $250 vet bill bringing the grand total to $430+ for a bath and haircut- one in which he was injured. We drive 40 minutes up to come to your location because we have heard rave reviews and we had a stellar experience on our last visit. This, unfortunately, was quite the opposite. I was hopeful this would be rectified however they did not and will never see our business again. Take caution! read more

My puppy had the experience of a lifetime at Wipe Your Paws! They took such amazing care of her! She gets nervous around loud noises and they were so gentle and able to work through it. My Pup looks beautiful! Her haircut is so perfect. The groomer was able to recreate my vision- we didn't want much cut, just a "clean-up" and they did exactly that! The oatmeal bath left my pup soft and smelling so good! Beyond the wonderful haircut- the facility was extremely clean and sanitary. You would never guess dogs come in and out every day. The staff was so Kind and accommodating. The owner is a wonderful person with a vast knowledge about dogs and their behavior! She runs an incredible operation. Terrible experience with the first time grooming of our 4 month old puppy. I repeatedly requested that they provide a safe and positive experience for this first haircut and reiterated that they should stop the process if the puppy was uncomfortable. When I came to pick up our dog I was informed that she had been muzzled because she bit the groomer and although it did not break the skin, Cristina cautioned us about the puppy's temperament. As a licensed vet tech I found this presumptuous. The puppy has been highly socialized and we have never seen any signs of aggression to date. I would definitely not recommend WYP. read more

My family has been coming here for 5-10 years. I got my own dog a year a go and decided to stick with this groomer. I canceled an appointment when I was sick, unaware of the cancelation policy, and now I can't come back unless I pay $50. This is the BEST place to bring your dog to get their beauty attended to. Everyone is beyond stellar! The front desk is welcoming, accommodating, oh-so-pleasant! All of the groomers, Laci and Tarsesa (?) are so attention to detail focused, your best friend will never have a bad (or different than requested) hair day! They also have doggie daycare which looks to be super fun too! It appears very well staffed, and they seem to match the same energies. My golden retriever has been going to WYP for daycare since she was a pup, it's the only place I feel completely comfortable leaving her -- the staff is so loving, they really know every dog, all dogs are screened for friendliness, it's clean and roomy for dogs to run around and play. Amazing service and staff! Our dog comes home happy and tired. The staff here know the dogs, their personalities and quirks, and make sure the experience is great for the pups and their humans. Do not bring your dog here. They insisted that the only way to treat our beautiful Australian shepherd's minor knotting over his hind legs was to buzz him. They proceeded to shave his entire body. They have absolutely no idea how to groom a dog with an undercoat. read more

So, my dog sitter works here, and I was so set on our previous groomer, but I trust her so much, so I thought, why not give Wipe Your Paws a try? I'm so glad I ignored my instincts, because they took such phenomenal care of our little guy, a 4 month old miniature schnauzer. He went from a little disheveled to a handsome devil, and the price was completely reasonable. Yippee!!! Finally a place that knows how to groom Airedale Terriers! Our past groomers decided to retire and we've been looking for a place to groom our two Terriers so they look like Airedales. Last place I went to I brought home two Bedlington Terriers, or Airdales cut to look like Beslingtons! Wipe Your Paws has a master groomer who nailed it! They are great to work with, easy to schedule, they work with you to understand and deliver your expectations, all around great staff, friendly and clean facilities. We will be going back. Since I've had her she has attended day care their frequently.The owner Christina and all the staff are caring, give personal attention to your dog and to you. They really love all the dogs and show it. There is a vibe you feel there that you know this is the right place for your dog. The place is spotless with 2 large rooms and a small front window spot. The dogs are never caged,They roam freely in the rooms with staff members that supervise, give affection. There are climbing toys and toys. They also sell dog necessities right there so if you need food or a toy they have it. Lastly the dog groomers are amazing, Lacy Hornsby has been grooming Harley for 2 years not only does a perfect job every time but the dogs love her. You always feel good dropping off and picking up your dog at WYP!! read more

Ally and John are so great booking appointments and making sure your dog is safe and taken care of in day care. My dog always has a blast there and she is a hand full. UPDATE: They gave me a call after I emailed them that the dog had bruises. Sounded sincerely concerned. Not saying I'd go again because the bad hair cut was enough to not do this again. END UPDATE: OK I was going to give 2 stars. I had both my dogs get a hair cut. The hair cuts were really bad but the place looked nice and the day care looked good also. THEN I SAW BRUISES!!! When I came home the hair was extremely short so after the one dog got a bit dirty I washed her and the extreme bruising was obvious. I know my dog struggles but I have never given the dog bruises during a wash/cut. After that I started looking more carefully and I saw cuts on many areas where I know the scissors cut her. If I thought it would do any good I would go back and curse them all day. So in summary 1) my dogs got shaved down (instead of a normal cut for a maltese) 2) my one dog had a lot of bruises 3) They have several cuts were from the scissors 4) Did I mention the haircut is AWFUL! read more

This was my second grooming session for my two Westies and I am really happy with the results. A perfect Westie cut and I am a perfectionist. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. So gentle and she came out looking beautiful. the last time we bought her she didn't want to go in and John petted her and said "do you want to go for a ride?" and picked her up and brought her back. We were renovating our kitchen in April and I did not want our dog here while the demolition was taking place. I took my dog to WYP for a total of 3 days before I ended up at the emergency vet center after her 3rd visit. Why you may ask, well it turned out to be temporary gastritis from dehydration. I noticed after the first visit, my dog came home and consumed water as though she had not had a drop. On the second day when I picked her up, I looked in through the glass window and noticed that I didn't see a water bowl anywhere. When I asked Crisitina why there was nothing for the dogs to drink, she told me that they do not leave water in the play room because the puppies play in it or knock it over. I asked what is my dog supposed to do when she is thirsty. Cristina told me that they keep water bowls in what I would call the ante room. This area is a room between the play area and the main area of the store so that dogs can't escape. They go through there on the way to being walked approx. every 2 hours. I don't know about your dog, but mine doesn't drink water when you stop alongside a bowl and show her she can drink. Day 2 same thing, she came home parched and tanking up on water. Day 3 was the last straw. When I took my dog home she refused her dinner, and a bully tendon. I knew something was wrong. It was 6:00 and the only vet to see at that time of the day left early so I was left no choice but to go to the emergency vet place at 7:30 at night. I am grateful to the vet that took care of her, and he was able to quickly diagnose her problem, and after being given antacids and antibiotics, she ate dinner several hours later. Fortunately for this vets conservative ways the bill was less than $ 300.00. Before going to the vet I called Wipe Your Paws to ask about any sick dogs in there care, and was told they didn't know of any. The day after the emergency vet visit, Cristina called to ask me how my dog was, and I gave her an earful. Fast forward to June 20th when my neighbor told me she was renovating her bathroom. I told her of my experience at WYP, and she told me that when her dog came home, he too consumed an enormous quantity of water. People think that the dog is just tired from a fun filled day, and I say no way. I am curious to know if others have had the same experience. read more

I took my Chihuahua, Holly, to their training class - absolutely awful. I would ask the trainer many questions and all she could tell me was to "stick to the routine" for everything. The trainer was also more concerned about looking at the clock and rushing me out of there. My poor little Holly didn't pick up on anything. The owner also charged $400 for this and didn't include the clicker and all the treats, I had to buy everything - don't waste your time and money at this place. read more

We've been taking our golden doodle to Wipe Your Paws for over 4 years for haircuts and daycare and he absolutely loves it.
