Zero if I Could!! First off this post is not to bash on this business its to inform all of you of the experience I had and hope to save some of you the headache I am having with them. In July I needed to find an eye doctor that accepted Medical, let me first clarify which I feel I don't need to but I know internet trolls will try and attack me for but my kids have medical because they are wards of state. So again in July I was in search of an eye provider that accepted medical and I came across Robert Wolff on Facebook, he was advertising his new office in Hollister. He offered professional eyecare and also posted he accepted Medical. So I went ahead gave his office called and scheduled all three appoints with his office. On the phone while making the appointments I let his office know the children had Medical and we lived out of town all they told me was to make sure I had their state issued card with the flowers with me at the appointment which was not a problem because I had it. We arrived at the appointment completed the paper work gave them the medical cards then the exams began. I go into the exam room with my first child (age7) he comes into the exam room in his house slippers and asks her to sit on the chair and then began to ask her if she was Latina and proceeded to ask her what she wanted to be when she was older and then told her "well go to Stanford there is free money there for you Latinos". I sucked it up and didn't say anything but me personally didn't feel that came across very professional I just knew that I for sure would never use him again. He proceeded to go on with his so called exam by asking me what is it that I was looking for a new prescription? Since she already has glasses, I said well if she needs one yes and she already out grew her current pair that were prescribed a year before so he did a quick BASIC exam to check her vision just having her read the letters off the wall. There was nothing else performed no pressure test, no measurements, NOTHING that a typical eye exam usually consists of. So he completes the exam and again asks me if I wanted a prescription and if so he can write it and I can go to a Walmart where they sell cheap glasses to fill it. Then we continued with the next two kids but their exams were even quicker because they never wore glasses so we were in and out in a couple of minutes. We left the office and in October I receive a phone call from him personally stating that they just tried running the medical for the visit that occurred in July and it was saying that the kids were not active and it was showing they had a different insurance. I told him that they had the plan that goes along with Medical he asked me to send him copies of their insurance cards and also told me that he more than likely will have to send me a bill because he's trying to pay his rent. I told him ok I would send him the copies of the other cards and requested an email so I can send them because I believe in a paper trail, which he did on 11/02/2020. I then got an email response from him within minutes after sending the cards stating that this was an awkward situation because I supposedly presented incorrect insurance cards and at this point he had already done all lot of free work for San Benito County and he can't do it for everyone. If I wanted free care that is what the San Benito Health Foundation is funded for and I could have went there. He went on in the email to say he is a private medical office and he provides excellent personal care. I called him immediately after receiving that email and told him that I had no problem paying for service as free care is not what I am seeking, I also told him I didn't appreciate his comments or insinuations because he doesn't know everyone's story I told him that before I paid his bills that I have not seen or received I wanted a detailed Itemized invoices for each of the kids because I wanted to know what he was billing medical for because like he said he was trying to pay his rent so I wanted to ensure he wasn't over billing. Well here we go today 12/05/2020 I received my first of three invoices, for one child I was charged $300 for my kid to sit in a chair for literally 60sec and no it was not itemized it just says the Childs name and Medical Exam $300 which in my opinion is way to expensive for the type of service we received, if you ask me some one is trying to take advantage of people. I have reached out and I am disputing it. All I ask is make your own judgements but I just wanted to share my experience and maybe save some of you having to go through this as well. I am not making any of this up I still have the email he sent me and the invoice I just received, and my own kids told family about his Latino comments. So please beware! read more
