SURGERY PATIENTS BEWARE…read more I deeply regret selecting Dr. Shim Ching. My experience with him and Asia Pacific was a nightmare, and a significant portion of my result is so unacceptable that I require a costly and risky revision surgery. I feel botched and mutilated. I avoid mirrors and public settings because of the effect this has on my appearance. I am deeply ashamed that I trusted this person and allowed them to do this to my body. On the day of surgery, the anesthesiologist was unaware of important medical history that I had provided to Dr. Ching's staff weeks earlier. Asia Pacific had expressly assured me that my medical history and concerns were being taken seriously. Yet, as I sat prepped and awaiting surgery, it became abundantly clear that this information had not been shared with the anesthesiologist. I then waited in the intake room for more than two hours while the anesthesiologist requested the information I had provided and reviewed it to assess surgical risk. Despite the practice's error, I had no financially viable option to cancel on the spot. Withdrawing that morning would have meant forfeiting over $40,000. I was therefore placed in the untenable position of either proceeding with surgery despite serious concerns about the handling of my medical records or losing the entire amount I had paid because of an error that was not mine. No respectable medical practice would place a patient in that position. This failure, compounded by serious deficiencies in postoperative care and communication, destroyed my trust in both Dr. Ching and his staff. Their conduct changed markedly after the practice collected my full surgical fees -- they repeatedly revealed serious deficiencies in professionalism, communication, and basic administrative competence. I recently requested a partial refund to help defray the cost of revision surgery with a different surgeon. Asia Pacific denied that request outright, without dialogue with me or any form of good-faith effort to address why I don't feel safe with Dr. Ching. Offering to revise his own work is not a reasonable solution when repeated lapses in professionalism, communication, and patient care have left me with no confidence in his judgment or ability. I strongly urge prospective patients to conduct thorough due diligence before entrusting Dr. Ching with their body, safety, and money. Do not assume that "over a million followers" is actually real, or that an expensive office is evidence of surgical competence, patient safety, or accountability.

From my very first consultation, Dr. Chu was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and straightforward. He's talented, professional, and genuinely cares about his patients. What really stands out to me is his passion for always pushing forward. It's exciting to see his dedication to innovation and how much he cares about helping women feel their best. Years later, I can still call on him for advise or with questions. His generosity with his time is unmatched (and having met with many docs on island, I know.) It's rare to find a surgeon who has both the skill and the heart. Sure, sometimes he comes across as a bit zingy, but its because he is excited to help people feel more confident in their own skin. Without going into too much detail regarding why I visited this office, I want to give a thorough review for those of you wondering if you should pull the trigger on getting a service done. First and foremost, his staff is amazing. They are friendly, knowledgeable and committed to giving you a pleasant experience. They are also easy to reach, are fast to respond, and always willing to help. Location cant be beaten. Located in Hale Pawaa, this office is on the 5th floor, in a corner unit. Easy to find and has great views. Parking is validated. Offering a wide array of services, PRP Hawaii and Dr. Schlesinger are committed to helping people reach their body goals. I can say from experience that I was always against modifying my body in any way to achieve a desirable appearance. However, after feeling less than confident about myself and getting older, I sought some advice - which turned into a referral - which turned into a service - which ultimately turned into me being a much happier person. Depending on your service and what is expected, results vary. Obviously. They are in the business of beautification - not magic. Do your research. Shop around. But I assure you, PRP Hawaii will offer high quality services for a competitive price. If you're wondering what to do, reach out. You may as well get a consult. Tell them that this review sent you - either way, they'll treat you like family.

I did look into two other surgeons before choosing Dr. Schlesinger, but their offices and personalities just seemed cold. His office staff members were friendly and professional and from the casual conversations between the patients it was obvious that everyone there felt at home with the staff and the doctor. From the date of my consult, Dr. Schlesinger made me feel at ease and helped me understand my options and decisions. On the day of the surgery, it was clear that surgery staff were professional and attentive and the doctor again walked me through the upcoming procedure. I don't think I have ever met such a caring physician and I have had more than one procedure because of my confidence in his skills. His aftercare is also amazing. When I went in for followups I did not see nurses, I always saw the doctor. If I had questions after hours, I did not have to call some impersonal service, he gives his patients his cell phone number and he either answers or returns calls quickly. He would rather come in on a Sunday to make sure that you are okay than have you wait until his office is "officially open" to see you. I am currently under his care, he is moving his practice into the use of PRP --which will help with post surgical scarring (apparently amongst many other things)--I look forward to seeing what innovations Dr. S. has up his sleeve.

From A to Z, things could not have gone better with this entire meeting, surgery, and post-op care…read more But here's the nuts and bolts of what most really care about... COST: I initially went for a consultation at another clinic, and I was quoted prices that were not only out of line for the procedure I wanted but were genuinely astronomical. It stands to reason they would charge so much more when you realize that you are paying for nearly 100 staff members who mostly do everything but surgery (i.e., facials, etc.). After doing my due diligence, speaking with a number of women who have been patients of Dr. Feguson, and then coming in for the initial consult, I was so thoroughly impressed by Emma, Theresa, and company that I paid for everything right there on the spot. The total cost was slightly less than half of what the other joint quoted me. RESULTS: Let's face it... we're all getting older, and some of us are uglier than others. I was getting so ugly and wrinkly that I would wear a wig backward, put a mask on the back of my head, and walk in reverse everywhere I went. I'm not kidding. Small children would shriek and cry, women would shout "EEK!" and run away, and dogs would make that high-pitched howling they do when they hear a fire engine siren. Doctor Ferguson fixed that problem, and now I can't keep my hands off myself. I'm sure that is probably illegal in several states, but I don't care. HAPPY ENDING: Ladies, you can bet your sweet patootie that if I need more surgery to entice women to throw their lingerie at me, I will make The Ferguson Clinic my first and only stop! I have been a review-writing member of Yelp for quite a few years, so if you need more information or photos, you can message me through Yelp, and I will respond to you ASAP.

Make sure your surgeon is board-certified! Read about your procedure, be realistic with your expectations, look at before and after photos, see if you can find others that have gone through it, a plus if they used your surgeon, ask questions, lots of them! Seek other opinions, if necessary but when you've found the right one, you'll know. I hadn't even finished the consult and I knew Dr. Murariu was my guy for the job. I made a joke about being ready for the procedure that day but alas, as wonderful doctors are on a severe shortage, he was booked! Dr. M validated my feelings and concerns, answering every.single.one of my questions with compassion, humility and empathy. Our consultation alone was very authentic and patient centered which established trust, and showed his passion and genuine care for my wellbeing. Everyone I encountered at Athena Clinic fulfilled their respective roles as if the position was deliberately nurtured and tailored to them. Every person there, is so crucial to the shape, success and effectiveness of the company. From the jump, Gen was warm and inviting. She influenced my initial impression being the perfect bridge between patient and organization. Ikuko is so sweet and caring, we also do a great deal of laughing when we see each other! She is knowledgeable while still having the capacity to comfort her patients and ensure our needs are met. Xia is clear, assertive, and has an eye for perfection! I loved having her keen recognition of quality during the procedure. Kristy is compassionate and friendly. She listens, understands, and interjects well-timed communication with perfect balance. I had chin and neck liposuction, fat transfer to chin as well as Thermage to my face and neck. This has been a problem area and a real sore spot for my ego since I was a teen. The procedure itself was just as I expected. I was awake the whole time, chatting and filling the room with lots of laughter. We even experienced a bit of an actual earthquake, too! I felt no pain, aside from the needle injection of tumescent which didn't last long at all. There is a lot of what feels like pushing and tugging but I was more concerned with Dr. M's back being sore from being hunched over (he's so tall!). There remains beneath-the-surface healing but the worst part is long in the past and was short-lived. I went home with my face bandaged like a mummy (kidding), and was able to open my mouth just enough to slurp some soup (not kidding). Whatever your instructions are from your surgeon, follow them! They're there for a reason, sometimes beyond our know. I wish I could quantify my aliveness in a container and compare the impact this procedure had on my life. It was such a huge step forward and I am beyond thankful to all at Athena Clinic but especially to the talented Dr. Murariu. If anyone has questions, feel free to reach out and I'll be happy to help any way I can.
