I had a great breast augmentation experience with Dr. Cho and his team. Dr. Cho's consistent professionalism and honesty, as well as Tessie and Lorna's warmth and care, helped ease a lot of my anxieties around the procedure. Based off my size and the tautness of my skin & breast tissue, Dr. Cho recommended that I go with 240cc. While I worried that this was too small an implant size at first, it turned out to be the perfect size for me. I am very happy with the results. Dr. Cho's attention to safety is commendable. For anyone considering seeing him, the only thing I would suggest is that you have a list of questions/concerns prepared. read more

My wife, Jan, recently went to see Dr. Cho and asked me to enter a review for her. "Dr. Cho and his staff were professional, friendly, and very helpful. He went above and beyond to ensure I was satisfied with the results. His surgical techniques were excellent. The scar on my forehead is barely noticeable. I would highly recommend him to anyone. 5 Stars!" read more

Dr. Cho isn't just a surgeon - he is an artist. My abdomen was crisscrossed with surgical scars from a vertical c-section and a bikini line hysterectomy. It was unflattering, and although I wasn't overweight, my abdomen was far from flat, bulging around each of those scars. I felt uncomfortable in my skin, clothes did not fit right, and I just wasn't happy. A consultation with Dr. Cho put me at ease about my decision to move forward with an abdominoplasty, and the results are incredible. I interviewed with several surgeons before finally deciding on Dr. Cho. Besides his amazing bedside manner and his ability to put me completely at ease, Dr. Cho was the only surgeon I interviewed that insisted on keeping me overnight in Straub Hospital after the surgery. Even with that overnight stay, the cost was comparable to that of the other surgeons. The other surgeons all intended to send me home after surgery. After experiencing this major surgery, there is no way I would have been able to go home afterwards, much less care for myself during that first 24 hours post-surgery. I am also grateful for the care and concern provided by his amazing staff before, during, and after my surgery. It's been nearly three years since my surgery and the scars are, for the most part, invisible. Dr. Cho had me come back to restitch the "dog ears" of my trans-abdominal scar as well as my old belly button because he wasn't 100% satisfied with how they looked. (My original belly button had to be moved, and Dr. Cho crafted me a new one which is an absolute work of art.) He did not charge me for that follow-up service. For the record, I thought the scars looked fine, but Dr. Cho is a perfectionist, which I appreciate! I can finally say that I feel better in my clothes, they fit better, I have much more self-confidence, and I am wondering why I waited so long to get this done. read more

Amazing care from Dr Cho and staff Tessie and Lorna from beginning to end. Dr Cho was very informative about my procedure and the process and my options. Tessie always kept my informed about my appointments and what I needed to do and Lorna made the surgery go smoothly in the care she provided. Even after my surgery they all made sure that I was well taken cared of. I appreciate everything that they did. And I am in love with the results that I got!!!! read more

I cant say enough good things about Dr.Cho & his team! I chose to get a breast augmentation w Dr. Cho after speaking with quite a few other doctors on island. After meeting him in person, I instantly knew that he was the doctor that I wanted to do my surgery. I had never gotten surgery before and was very scared- I am also a very active person and wanted a very natural result that would not get in the way of my lifestyle and profession. I was very indecisive and went in to the clinic to talk about my sizing options many times and he was very patient and helped me decide what was best for my body. Dr Cho made it very clear that his #1 priority was patient safety and he would not want to go above a certain implant size due to my anatomy and lifestyle. We decided on 2 implant sizes and I trusted Dr. Cho to make decision during the operation & am very glad that I trusted him to make the call. Dr Cho is a hidden gem on island. I am so glad that I chose to come here rather than a private outpatient plastic surgery clinic as Dr cho specializes in reconstruction & the hospital is the safest place to get this procedure done. read more

I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Cho for breast reconstruction surgery! I was diagnosed with breast cancer in March of 2021. After my double mastectomy surgery for the removal of breast cancer by my breast cancer surgeon, Dr. Cho was there for the next step which was the reconstruction process. I am so satisfied with the outcome. From the moment I met Dr. Cho, there was no doubt in my mind that he would be performing my surgery. He was easy to talk to and thoroughly explained the process to make me comfortable with what I could expect. Both Dr. Cho and his nurse, Tessie, were there for me every step of the way. Tessie was always so helpful and compassionate! His office staff was, also, very helpful and accommodating whenever I called. They are the absolute bestest team! read more

We have known Dr. Cho for over 10 years. He is an incredibly gifted surgeon, but more importantly, a genuinely nice person. He performed multiple surgeries for my wife after her cancer diagnosis 10 years ago, and was also able to remove a non-cancerous mole from my forehead. Dr Cho was always willing to answer all of our questions, and most recently was even able to fit us in on incredibly short notice during this COVID environment.... pretty amazing. I cannot recommend him enough. read more

Wow, I just had my long awaited appointment with Dr Cho at Straub Hospital for a facelift consultation. I am not sure what just happened, but I left his office feeling very "put off". Almost like thrown away by him and his nurse. They both kept asking me what kind of work I did and what my job was. I would not be there if my finances were going to be an issue. I was told he would not be able to make a noticable difference. I should spend my money on something esle, and come back in five years. read more

David Cho, MD - I am 60 years old and Dr Cho said there was nothing he could do. He recommended I get botox and fillers. - Cosmetic Surgeons Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

If you're looking for a great plastic surgeon then I would definitely check Dr. David Cho. He's located in Straub. I liked that because you're not in the hospital, but very close to the emergency room (just in case). From beginning to end, it was a great experience. The nurses were all so caring and nice. The anesthesiologist was incredibly sweet and gentle. Everyone told me at least a few times not to worry and that they will take good care of me. And they really did! I'm so happy I chose him! read more

I would recommend Dr. Cho because he was very informative of what was best for my procedure. He explained what was best for my body type and gave me a few options for what I was asking. Based on what he told me I was able to make an decision on what was best for me with my lifestyle. I went to another consultation before this one and they did not explain anything to me. I am extremely happy with my results and can tell he tones pride in what he does. read more

My daughter was born with a cleft lip & palate. Dr.Cho is one of the awesome surgeons who work with kapiolani craniofacial team. We were first assigned to a surgeon who I did not feel confident in making sure my daughter would get the best results so I did all my research on all the surgeons kapiolani offered and Dr. Cho was a no brainer with all his great reviews and photos of before and after pictures of the babies he's worked on. Our first appt with him was great. He was so informative, confident and even drew out a picture of how he'd do the surgery & how the scar would be to make sure I knew everything! I ask 10,000 questions lol and he answers them all without making me feel like it's a bother. First surgery went perfect and I still can't believe the results!! Even though he didn't think a nose stent would work after I asked him twice about it lol He decided the morning of the surgery that he thinks it would benefit her and because of his care and dedication he put into the surgery, I'm still in awe of how great my daughters lip & especially nose turned out. I recommend Dr.Cho because I know first hand on how talented, dedicated and a perfectionist he is. Like it's not just a job & paycheck to him, it way more than that. I'm so thankful and proud of myself for going with my mothers gut feeling and picked Dr.Cho because I strongly believe that if I went with another surgeon, my daughters results wouldn't be as good as it is right now. Hawaii is so lucky to have one of the best surgeons in the country. read more

I saw Dr. Cho twice in a 2 month span to remove a cancerous spot on my face. The first session was to cut out the problem area and test it. We didn't know if cancerous or not. After they ran tests and found out it was in fact cancerous, we met a second time, to go "by the book" and remove a tad more skin around the affected area. He and his team were very professional, knowledgeable, and worked efficiently. After the procedure they made routine phone checkups on me to see how I was doing, which I appreciated. I had a great experience, and I recommend him and his team to whoever needs to go "under the knife". read more

Dr Cho is the best plastic surgeon in Hawaii!! After numerous consultations and ridiculously priced quotes from other PS in Hawaii, I chose Dr Cho for my liposuction procedure and had an amazing experience. Not only was his quote very reasonable priced, but he steered me in the right direction (lipo instead of tummy tuck), had great bedside manner, and I'm loving my results so far. It's only been 1 month post-op so I'm still a little swollen but the results are smooth and natural looking (my biggest concern was having lumps and irregularities). In addition his team of nurses (Tessie & Lorna) and even the anesthesiologist are top notch!! They really put me at ease and made me feel like family . I highly recommend!! read more

I absolutely can not rave enough! Dr Cho made me feel completely comfortable and his staff was just so kind. After nursing 2 babies lets just say my boobs had seen better days. They were saggy to the max. After my first consultation with Dr Cho he was completely honest with what kind of results I could expect. I also like how he puts safety over just the cosmetics. While he was so honest in my consultation, he completely undersold himself. My results are soooo much better than I expected. My breasts look natural, symmetrical, and I do not need a lift! He worked some sort of magic and the other surgeons I had consulted were completely wrong! I am so thankful for Dr Cho and his staff! I have a brand new confidence! read more

I was diagnosed with breast cancer this past January, devastating to say the least. From day one Dr. Cho and his staff were there for me. They are truly the epitome of professionalism, skill, organization, efficiency and most important caring. I could have never imagined my reconstruction to go so well and to be so beautiful. Yes, it was painful and a little scary but nothing like it could have been in the wrong hands. Tesse, Lorna and the rest of his staff have been so kind through this journey that it actually makes me tear to think about it. I've spent enough time with them I feel as though they are family. I highly recommend Dr. Cho for any and all things to do with plastic surgery, reconstruction and cosmetic procedures. Through this experience I have been blessed in many ways, I hope yours is the same. Aloha, Sandy read more

I got bit by a dog in the face 6 months ago and I look better than ever!!! No surgery needed! I haven't been prescribed any crazy ointments or medicines or anything like that and I'm almost fully healed (just gotta prevent the scarring) without using anything! Dr. Cho has been the most caring and genuine doctors. He could've kept me going for a couple years just to make business but instead he gave me the truth! He told me I wouldn't need any plastic surgery! We need more doctors like this who sacrifice so much for their patients because they genuinely care! He helped me through one of the craziest identify crisis I ever had to go through. Thank you Dr. Cho and staff!! read more

This review is in regards to a phone call that I made today to this office. I'm interested in doing laser hair removal so I called to inquire about pricing, and the type of laser that they use here. When I told the woman what I was interested in doing, she replied, "Oh, you don't want to go here for laser hair removal. There are much better places to go with better packages." While I appreciate her honesty (she even listed off names of other buisnesses for me), if this is something that Dr. Cho doesn't wish to advertise then I suggest they take it off of their Yelp page. It's very misleading. read more

I saw Dr. Cho for breast augmentation and I am very happy with the results as well as the care and attention I received from him and his lovely nurses. Dr Cho is a very realistic in terms of expectations and will discuss all options as well as explain why he chooses the techniques he does. (I am very happy I did not go through the areola as was suggested by a different doctor to me years ago.) Dr Cho, Lorna and Tessie were there for me in the weeks after my procedure to support me through that challenging time. My advice; Everyone is different and some heal faster than others. When it comes to surgery, don't listen to what your friends or others say about their experiences. Listen and trust your surgeon, and take the healing process one day at a time. read more

Dr. Cho is great! Had a breast reduction with him and everything went exceptionally well. I liked that he described his work as "art." I felt very comfortable with everything that was explained to me pre-surgery. Everything was very straightforward, office visits did not take a long time, nurses are great. The entire experience was excellent and I'm grateful I found such an awesome surgeon. My breasts have healed very well and look amazing. Not to mention it has been a huge relief on my neck and back. I am now trying to re-train my body to sit without slouching. Greatest choice I've ever made. read more

I went to Dr.Cho because for a long time I had been bothered by the wrinkles on my forehead and the fine lines under my eyes. He suggested Botox for my forehead and filler for under my eyes. Needles make me nervous but knowing that he is a board certified Plastic Surgeon made me feel very comfortable. I was so worried because I thought it would be painful, but it wasn't at all! Dr.Cho is so professional and has a great staff assisting him I can't imagine being in better hands. The wrinkles and the fine lines were immediately gone and I couldn't be happier with the results!! read more

This is not for Dr. Cho but the Straub Plastic Surgery center in general. I called trying to schedule a consultation appointment for breast reconstruction and was told I couldn't be seen there because I was being seen at queen's. Then the receptionist added insult to injury by saying if I was a burn victim they would see me. There are very limited options for insurance covered breast reconstruction on the island and they showed no compassion to a breast cancer survivor trying to get a second opinion. read more

Great office and staff. Kept a good schedule. We always get safe and knew what was going on.

If you want to go an amazing surgeon who is phenomenal at arts and making things pretty, DONT GO... to anywhere else but Dr. David Cho. I've been a patient of his for several years so here's the deal on him. Reception: Front staff (Charlene and Nina) is ALWAYS charming and welcoming. Couches/chairs are comfty while you (literally) wait 5 minutes or less for Tess or Lorna to call you in. Exam rooms: Always clean and spotless. Surgery and bedside manner: Dr. Cho and his staff always make sure your comfortable throughout the procedure and after. Working for a former surgeon, I understand what is to be expected from the staff and Doctor during any procedure or surgery. It seems like He never has to ask for anything(surgical instrument) from them, which is a GREAT thing and who you want taking care of you. Trust me, you WANT nurses and the doctor to be a nice well oiled machine working on you. Now the surgeon himself: As I said before, I worked for a surgeon before so I know what is to be expected. Dr. Cho is like the Dr. Avery of Greys Anatomy. Silly comparison, but it's true. He is comes from physician family, plastic surgeon, and not too bad to look at lol. He's always making sure I have minimal scaring and reminds me/gives tips to make sure my scar turns out ok. Dr. Cho pays attention to your concerns and actually has a conversation with you and doesn't shut you down. He's everything you want in a plastic surgeon! You cannot go wrong. read more

My Dermatologist at Straub referred me to the Plastic Surgery department to have a painful lump under the skin behind my right ear removed. Dr. Cho performed the procedure under local anesthesia within a half hour and removed three cysts.
