Where do I start?
Let me start by saying I can't say enough good things about Doctor Sopko and his staff. His office is staffed by very professional people and runs like a well-oiled clock. Very organized.
How it all started.
On Saturday I was experiencing mild tooth discomfort, but by Monday I needed an emergency dental appointment. My dentist, Dr. Yiming "Jimmy" Zhang, whose office was closed and scheduled to be closed for the next few weeks, graciously came in and opened the office just for me. He quickly determined that I needed to see an endodontist--and not just any endodontist. He called Doctor Sopko and in my opinion, Dr. Sopko is the best.
He strives for excellence and has a compassionate, patient-centered approach.
He is a advocate for community care and has been a cornerstone of Wake Smiles, where he has provided his professional services since 2006. In addition he also serves as the Vice Chairperson of the Wake Smiles Board of Directors, helping to provide dental care to those who otherwise would not be able to afford it.
He also has an advanced certification in Endodontics from the University of Maryland.
He has a gentle demeanor and high-quality outcomes, is concerned about his patients' comfort and well-being, ensuring that every individual receives the highest standard of care.
He has all the latest advancements and equipment in dentistry.
Doctor Sopko was out of town when my dentist called him and would be returning later that night. An emergency appointment was set up for Tuesday at 12:15P when his office would be open and you can bet I cleared my schedule and I was there.
First impressions are very important and Nikki who is the patient coordinator certainly had that in spades. She greeted me with a smile, made eye contact with me, listened to what I had to say, acknowledged she heard what I said, responded accordingly, and used my name.
Even though I had an emergency appointment she or any of the staff didn't make me feel like I was an inconvenience.
I sat and waited and shortly my name was being called by Zoe, Dental Assistant I. She walked me to the room where all the magic happens and sat me in the dental chair. Her demeanor quickly put me at ease. She had good people skills, explained what was happening, what was going to happen, and what I needed to do when I left the office.
Doctor Sopko determined which tooth it was and set me up for the root canal right then and there. During the root canal Zoe was right there next to Doctor Sopko but they were so much in tune with each other it seemed like only one person was working in my tooth. What a great team.
When it was all over I was given instructions by Zoe and now have an appointment with my dentist to get a crown on that same tooth.
