    Peak Endodontics - CBCT scan

I was quoted nearly $700 for scans and a consultation because they wanted to perform a CBCT scan on all four teeth. One of those teeth had previously been treated by Advanced Endo, so I went there to confirm the treatment plan for that specific tooth first (as a follow up). While I was there, they offered to do the same CBCT scan for half the cost Peak quoted--and only needed to scan once for the entire mouth. I agreed, especially since Peak had told me over the phone that I could bring in the scan on a thumb drive for them to review. Advanced Endo also confirmed they use the same software and had previously received scans from Peak. When I finally had my consultation with Peak, they took the thumb drive to the back while I waited in the lobby. They came back and claimed they couldn't read the scan and said, "We'll have to redo it for $500." That didn't make sense--how could they not view the scan? And why was the price different from what I was originally quoted? Since I couldn't afford additional scans, I took my thumb drive and left. Out of curiosity, I did a quick Google search and was able to open and view the scans myself on a standard laptop--no special software needed. I called Peak to let them know, but the conversation went nowhere. I kept getting different explanations each time about why they couldn't use the scan. They eventually offered a "discount," but at that point I wasn't willing to pay anything more after being told I could use the original scan. I decided to take my business elsewhere and share my experience so others can make an informed decision. Advanced Endo and Ritter Endo are far superior to this office. I can tell something was off after the root canal was done. I came back three months later and they told me that they could not do much and that I would have to come back after a year for them to see what everything is looking like. I've had previous recalls before and I can tell when it is done properly usually by how the tooth is feeling afterwards. Three months later with pain when I initially went in for the pain, didn't make any sense. I paid a lot, and I was given some trouble at the front desk when I was being charged numbers that did not make sense and that were not presented to me prior. Overall, the quality was not there. Two years later and I'm still dealing with the infection that they were supposed to fix.

No one wants to have a root canal. But when that tooth pain just won't go away Dr. Bills is just…read morethe person you want to see. I had been a patient of hers several years ago and this is why I came back. I called on a Tuesday morning because my tooth pain was getting worse and worse. My regular dentist (who I should but won't name) kinda shrugged if off. He sent me on my way with a tube of Sensodyne. I was in luck that there was a cancellation and I went to Dr Bills office right away. It's a super convenient Cary location. All of her staff is super warm and caring. She even has a therapy dog on staff !!! She numbed me up really well and the procedure was painless. She and her assistant chat the entire time so that really keeps your mind off of what is going on in your mouth. I would so HIGHLY recommend Dr Bills and her staff. A root canal isn't really that bad.

I have spent the past month of my life in hell. It all started with a filling 2 months ago. That…read morefilling caused me such extreme cold sensitivity that it made me tear up drinking iced tea. Ice cream? Forget about it. The dentist said it was normal, it would go away. Fine, I would wait. Then I was waking up in the middle of the night with the worst pain I have ever experienced in that side of my face. Both the top and the bottom of my mouth. Dentist said I was grinding my teeth. Gave me a night guard. Night guard didn't work, dentist said I probably had a sinus infection because looking at the x-rays, my teeth were perfectly healthy. (I'm glad they looked healthy, they felt like they were about to explode but thanks for that.) I went to the doctor. Not a sinus infection. Dentist referred me to a TMJ specialist. Instead I looked on the internet and found Dr. Bills. Dr. Bills and her staff started off on the right foot by TALKING to me. Asking what was going on, explaining things that the dentist didn't bother explaining to me. Then she tapped on my teeth and sprayed water on them. The whole problem with my mouth? One tooth. The tooth that was filled 2 months prior. It would need a root canal. They didn't have any openings for 2 weeks, but since I was in pain for over a month, they made one. I don't like dentists. I especially don't like the idea of a root canal. I had never had one, I was scared to death. I told Dr. Bills that I would prefer to be put under. She disagreed, telling me it wasn't as bad as I thought and that it would cost extra and instead she could give me Valium for free (even though she thought I didn't even need that.) So I reluctantly agreed. She's the expert, right? So my parents took me in that day since I couldn't drive myself on the Valium. I was relaxed. High as a kite, really. I am not kidding ONE BIT when I say that I have had TEETH CLEANING that were more painful than Dr. Bills' ROOT CANAL. Just the tiniest prick from the needle (and really, it was the least painful needle prick I've ever felt) was the only thing I ever felt. I think I might have ever gone to sleep during part of the procedure. And thanks to the valium, I slept for 4 hours, woke up with the numbing effect worn off. The procedure was at 6:45 am, and I have not had any pain killers since. Around lunch time I ate ice cream. I nearly cried. Not in pain, though. Quite the opposite. Dr. Bills is the real deal, y'all.

I would welcome the opportunity to provide a positive review seen here by other customers. I can…read moresee how people love the hygienist. She is fantastic and has such a great attitude. However, the front desk lady and the doctor, Sabine Schtakleff could have been more representative of excellent customer service. Here is the story - my wife had a tooth pulled by this doctor over a year and a half ago. She needed a filling for one of her teeth and scheduled an appointment with this doctor's office. She shows up, checks in, and has the procedure; when checking out with the same front desk clerk, she pays the 500$ and then is introduced to a unique yearly program called the 2023 Prime Membership plan. You pay an annual fee, and you get the services mentioned - it's a great idea! It also provides 10% off of procedures not part of the plan. But wait, you just charged us 500$. Could we have used this on that procedure?NOPE. Sorry, I told you about this program after your procedure the same day, and second, you charged me 500.00. So what are we talking about, 50$, right? Okay, so we went in for cleaning three days after the filling, and I spoke to the front desk clerk. I inquired how come, my wife, was not presented with this program when she checked in three days ago? She said someone had made a mistake! - Ahh.. wait a minute, you are the person that checked her in - so it was you who made a mistake. So no issue yet, I figured I would l talk to the dentist, and clearly, the front clerk warned her about this situation. She was very defensive and continued to talk in circles about,"Oh, we don't go back and correct bills from the past ", But wait, this was the exact second after I was charged. This sound like a horrible business practice. I finally had to stop her from circling around and around. She was under the impression that we just got this paper advertisement today and not three days ago. I get it. If it was after she left the office and a month later was introduced to this plan, then of course! But that is not the situation. What should have happened three days earlier was this - "Hey, you know we have this new program, and if you sign up today, we can give you 10% off today's procedure and future procedures. So you should consider it since you do not have insurance." So I finally say, you won't credit me 50.00 and run the risk of losing a customer. YEP! she started with the circle BS, and I finally said to my wife - okay, what do you want to do. So she got out of the chair, and we walked out, taking our paperwork. Now here is the business thing! All she had to do was say - oh, okay, I didn't realize you were not offered this when you checked in. I would be happy to credit you the 50.00, and we can be a long-lasting relationship. But NO! So sad to see professionals need more business sense regarding customer satisfaction. The big kicker is that when talking to the hygienist, we discussed the possibilities of two implants, and I know those are about 5K each. Your loss, intelligent business person! Good Job!
