Yelp reviews led me to Nobie, who did an incredible job with my color and cut. She was careful to find out what I hoped to achieve and made sure we were of like mind before starting. Results were 5 star in every way and spending time in her chair was a pleasure as we got to know each other. What a relief to have found a talented artist, who didn't oversell products and gave me a great cut/color. My dissapointment came as I was leaving. The 2 people at the desk had no interest in smiling or making me feel welcome on this first visit. I almost felt like I was intruding by checking out and handing over my money. No eye contact...crickets. As much as Nobie made the effort to make me relaxed and happy, these 2 snapped that welcome back in a quick second. read more

What a great experience. The salon manager treated my daughter and I like princesses. He checked on us constantly. He walked my daughter to their companion salon down the way for her hair color while I stayed in the main salon for an extraordinary 1.5 hour massage. One of the best I've ever received in 40 years of getting professional massages. And then after the massage she offered me use of the in-room shower with Aveda products. Afterwards a protein snack and water with lemon to revitalize. My daughter lives in Tucson and booked her return appointment. I live in Phoenix and am going to coordinate with my daughter to create another 'princesses' day. Next time I'm going to try a hair cut and style. I get my hair and facials done here. Tai is very professional and good at what she does. I used to get my facials at the Massage Envy but now I wouldn't go anywhere else. I got lucky finding a great stylist so quickly after moving here in 2016 because the one I had in CA was really good and I had him for nearly 10 years. Hope Tai lasts a long time too! I have been having Nikki do my hair for almost a year now, and she is beyond wonderful!!!!! She is so talented and meticulous at 'how' she cuts her clients hair. I was coming to Tucson for my wedding and my hair appt with my usual stylist fell through. My friend booked an appointment for me with Mary Jo for color and hilights. I was a bit nervous and really wanted subtle, very natural looking hi lights in my brown hair. Wow, she did an amazing job! Best color and hi lights I've ever had, I can't recommend her strongly enough, and if I lived in Tucson, this would be the place I'd always get my hair done. Today I went in to basically cut all my hair off! I was looking to get a lob (long bob) that was stylish and fun! I was lucky enough to have Nikki do my hair and let me tell you SHE DID AN AMAZING JOB! I am obsessed with my new short hair!! Saw Candi today, she was very smart and professional. I really appreciate the fact that she was asking me questions and talking to me throughout my highlights and cut. It took about 2.5 hours to get my hair done and it was $150 so I would highly suggest they give you a price range before you get your hair done. There is about 4 ladies in this salon on a Saturday and despite the weekend, the atmosphere was quiet which is good and bad if you ask me. Got blonder highlights and the cut was beautiful for my first time being here. I think this made up for my bad review of the La Encantada one. Check it out! I am surprised this place didn't get higher reviews than the other salon. I do have to say , they have a lot more products to choose from on the Aveda line. I've been going to get my hair cut and colored by Robert Markley--and sometimes, when he's unavailable-- by his well-trained and well-managed staff for about 20 years. Nobody does blonde better! He's an exceptional colorist. He paints hair beautifully and has a great understanding of what colors to mingle to make hair look either wonderfully natural or extra-ordinarily, intentionally not-natural. His cuts, for me, have grown out beautifully in that I haven't had to go back often for months and months (I'm lazy that way). His staff is always friendly, well-mannered and, in my experience, well chosen for both their salon skills as well as their people skills. Robert Markley Salon Spa is not over-priced, has Aveda products he and his staff understand and explain---and no one in my experience has ever pushed product on me. I also like, very much, the person who does facials. My face, all 65 years of it, doesn't need make-up when I go home after that incredibly reviving, deep cleansing treatment.Again, I'm told what the products used were, but no push to sell. Hmm, have I ever been disappointed over the years. Probably a couple of times--once a cut, I recall, another time color. But I went in and both were resolved painlessly and without embarrassment about returning. Bottom line: Robert Markley is a gentleman with great skill in hair cut and coloring and knowledge of management. This is my first yelp ---amazing since I use them all the time. I have had nothing but wonderful experiences at Robert Markley Salon. My stylist of choice is Taifa and she does an amazing job. I am black girl with natural hair. I am very picky about who does my hair and what goes into it. With Taifa, I have never have to worry about what she will do to it and it always comes out looking fabulous! I love Aveda products because they are natural and leave my hair feeling amazing! And Taifa knows her stuff when it comes to Aveda products. As an added bonus, Taifa is a jack-of-all trades and works wonders with skin. I trust her to do my facials and all my waxing. I also adore David (who mans the front desk). He will keep you laughing. Impeccable service! Six women took advantage of this salon's services for my son's wedding. All six had makeup done. Four had updos. We were scheduled thoughtfully to accommodate our needs and treated like royalty. Robert brought in refrshing beverages as well as several food items. Each makeup artist, Candi and Holly, listened to our needs and wants while enhancing what we brought to the mirror. Hairstylists Mary Jo, Amber and Holly turned our locks into masterpieces. Mary Jo was a special trooper that day as it seemed we all needed her special touch. One of us, who hadn't ever had an updo before, loved the chic look and particular care that went into her hair. My mother got me a gift certificate for a facial. During the week is too difficult for me to go, so I crossed my fingers and hoped there was an opening on Saturday. I got lucky in two ways. There was an opening, and Mary was working that day. Mary is AMAZING! I've ridiculously sensitive skin. Not a single problem. She's so knowledgeable. My skin looked and felt great. I go to Robert Markley Salon Spa to see Ginger for the most fabulous facial I've ever had. I thought I knew facials but I was wrong. We start by choosing the scent that appeals to me for that day. Then wonderful face, hand and feet massages. The extraction part is never fun but Ginger does an amazing job. My skin is oily and prone to breakouts, normally. So, I frequent Tucson a lot and I found these gem so let's say I was super impressed. I needed a cut and full highlights so I booked an appointment with Katie. I was so happy!! My friend and both had one hour facials today with a Groupon Coupon that made our massages $49 each! We had never been to this spa, and were warmly greeted. We were offered tea, coffee, or water. We didn't know until we got there, but the facial included a foot, hand, and neck massage. Mary was our masseuse. She was wonderful!!! She was very gentle and professional. I liked the steam they used on my facial, and the aroma therapy was a nice added surprise! It was a bit cold when my friend had hers done; but I went second and Mary turned off the air when it was my turn. So I was not as cold as my friend had been. I only wish they had had two facial masseuses so that my friend and I could have ours at the same time. The environment was clean and modern. Upstairs was the hair salon and alot of typical chatter going on as I waited for my friend to have her facial the first hour; but it wasn't overwhelmingly distracting. So if you go with a friend,bring a book or some headphones. Or another option was to stroll in the shopping plaza if you bring a friend and have separate treatments. Overall, an exceptional experience at a phenomenal price! We left feeling at peace and totally relaxed. Would definitely recommend this experience with a Groupon coupon. When making appt the receptionist (recp) said I needed to schedule 1 hr in order to have add on's listed on site. Recp said I needed to ask person doing facial questions, they are n/a since with clients. I felt talked into longer appt to get information. Tai did my facial and was relaxing, professional. The only decision was to pick 1 of 5 scents (essential oils) The facial is not like other salons, they are not talking and telling you what they are doing. It is relaxing. The place is small, and plain decor. The loss of stars is lack of customer service at front desk, all the relaxation was wiped out with 5 minutes of talking with them. The mgmt is not present obviously run by fools. The policies are not clear nor is it printed on your gift card ( paid for gift card full price of value) you cannot use it with promotional coupon on website that is not written it is in the receptionist's head! The recp will not offer to help. Upon my request to speak to mgmt "do you want me to call Robert? Okay...(calls ) recp replies "he said no." After going different places in different states, I'm actually convinced Robert is the only one in the state of Arizona who knows how to do hair and color. The only person I've ever been to that doesn't chop the heck out of your hair or color your roots gold and make the ends ashy. Yes, Gadabout did that to me too. I have had many wonderful experiences at this salon. I am extremely picky about people touching my hair and especially with scissors and hair dye, but Ty is literally the best!!!! I don't even live close to the salon but I trust no one like I trust her, it is worth the trip. My hair always looks flawless when I leave and its absolutely perfect just how I like it. I have to write this review, I had a hair disaster from Kelly at Circa 79 (STAY AWAY!!)and she refused to fix her screw up!! So I had heard about Nobie and went to see her for a consult to see if there was any fixing my awful hair!! She set up an appt and said she would make me a whole new woman!! I went in on Friday and was nervous because of my last catastrophe, but she was so thorough! We picked out all the colors together and talked over the total game plan and 2 hours later I looked AMAZING!!! Nobie is a color GENIUS!!! She even cleaned up my awful haircut into a super cute bob!!
