This was my first time coming in. The owner offered me coffee and water which I thought was really sweet. My stylist was running a little behind so I asked how long it would be since I had to get to work in a couple hours. Another stylist offered to wash my hair which I was impressed with. Madison did a great job and I love the layering and face framing she did. She was also careful with my cartilage piercing which usually gets snagged when combing hair. I would recommend! read more

One of the things I enjoy least about moving is having to find a new hair stylist. When I starting my search, I was really impressed by the reviews for Pure Mettle, so I had to give it a try. When you set up your first appointment with someone at Pure Mettle you go through an extensive hair survey. It was the first time I had ever been asked to provide that kind of information, and I was interested to see what difference it made in the process. Lance at the front desk is awesome: he is professional, kind, and always makes me laugh at least once a visit. All of my appointments have been with Rachel, who has worked wonders with my hair. (I don't know if the results of the hair survey played a role or not, but I don't care.) She's fun to talk to and is a fabulous person to boot. Karen, the receptionist, accommodated a same-day appointment for my daughter's back-to-school haircut and greeted us with a smile before introducing us to Melanie. Melanie is a genuine, approachable, and thoughtful stylist. She was able to make my young daughter feel comfortable with the process and worked with us both to ensure that her haircut expressed her identity while still being manageable. When I entered the "speak easy" doors I was greeted with smiles and warm genuine hello's from everyone. Haircut was okay. Not great. Stylist didn't even section off my hair. She sort of free styled it. A "snip snip here and a snip snip there" sort of approach. She heard me and wanted to deliver on the requested style, which I appreciated, but for a layered long pixie, I would have expected to see a few hair clips, some sectioning, and maybe some attention to detail. No. Again, overall haircut is just okay because in the back the blending is poor. She offered to fix the unevenness but I declined. It would have made the hair too short and I wanted her to stop. I did ask her to clean up the uneven hairs along the nape of my neck but that's it. It needed to be over with. I specifically asked for a experienced stylist. Day of haircut I was switched to a different person. When I asked if she was just as experienced I was told "oh yes, she's very experienced". But I later learned this person went to school in 2020 "and then Covid hit..". So there's that. My point: If I had known that I had a new stylist, I would've canceled. Friendly. Beautiful salon. Yes. Michael is a fantastic colorist. I've lived in Tucson since 1998, and Michael is the first colorist who made my blonde look so natural. He doesn't use foil which dried out my hair. i really liked this place the first time i went. the woman that helped me gave me one of the best haircuts i've ever had. however, this haircut i just received has been one of my worst. although she was nice and pleasant to talk to, the haircut i wanted was not the haircut i got. i asked for a trim and was articulate about the areas of my hair that i wanted to be cut, but on top of getting a worse haircut that cost $50 ($5 more than my last haircut), i just found out that i have a patch of hair missing from the back. i've scheduled a haircut appointment to get a buzzcut so i can reset. read more

I love going to pure mettle to see Tina. A little over a year ago my skin was so bad, I had very dry skin with terrible acne and horrible acne scars. After trusting in Tina, using the products she recommended and did different face treatments, my skin looks and feels freaking amazing! Now my skin is plump, hydrated, I have no acne and all my acne scars are pretty much gone! My skin gets compliments all the time and I have never felt better about my skin.
