When it comes down to it, any company, organization or entity is all about it's people. With that in mind, there is one particular person I would like to spotlight - and that is Elaine Buhler. She is one of the kindest, most caring and (important for candidates) HARD WORKING advocates for those seeking jobs. I have dealt with nearly 2 dozen recruiters, many of whom don't take the time to understand what roles are a good fit for my experience or desired career path. They kind of just throw things at you and when you let them know it's not a good fit or if you aren't contacted for an interview - they drop you like a sack of potatoes. If I don't hear from her it's guaranteed there isn't a good role specific to my needs, because the second she hears something she contacts me and is very responsive. I have been using TCG for about...10+ years. They always get me work quickly. God knows with the agency lifestyle layoffs come and go. But I am never worried because I always knew i had the crew in my corner when agencies would let staff go. Since graduating with my degree in Design they have always put me in the right position. They have put me into various agencies and helped me gain a strong and diverse portfolio. It's sad to read that a few have had bad experiences, but I'll be straight up and honest. There's some great work out there and there's also A LOT of bad work. If you come to them expecting your crappy portfolio to get you a good job then that's not going to happen. You're going to need a decent book. To the few people I have met who had bad experiences with TCG, I wouldn't hire them either. Hell, maybe it's a personality thing. Lot's of people out there need meds. But all I can say is the staff has always been there for me and remained in constant contact. They text, email, skype and phone call me as much as they could. They even checked up on me months after to see if I was happy in the position. It's funny now that I look back on it, I think they've seen my positions expand as well, from junior designer to senior designer to art director to senior production designer, etc. I am currently working with a company (through TCG) that most of the design department was recruited through TCG and they all seem to have been there for many years. They also have had great experiences with TCG. I can't recommend them enough. Kim, Laura, McKenzie, Becky, Gloria and the entire staff has always been top notch. I've had a pretty positive experience working with TCG/Robert Half. Lauren Meyers is awesome and helped me land my first job after moving back to the states, which was a huge deal for me. She really listened to my career preferences and helped put me in front of the right employer. Long story short, I have a dream job at an ad agency full of really good people who do really good work, solely because of Elaine Buhler and TCG. I am beyond thankful! Long story long, as a recent grad, I faced the growing pains of transitioning from college to the real world. I left college with a marketing degree and a year of agency experience. Application after application, email after email, the job search was tough. Finally, I put my resume online and soon after TCG found me. I got a call from Elaine from TCG, notifying me that there was a position open and wondering if I'd be interested. I interviewed 2 days later, and my first day at the office was 4 days after that. Elaine and TCG made the process seamless, and they were advocating for me the entire way. The job hunt can be grueling. It feels good to have someone in your corner. Period. Most employment agencies are parasitic; they use applicants like expendable pawns in a chess game. One of the jobs they initially offered me was paying $14 per hour, but I later found out that their client was looking to pay $21 per hour; their client was only using Office Team to recruit a temporary employee, but Office Team doesn't tell you this. In fact, Office Team lies to its applicants, and tells them these jobs are temp-to-hire. But don't trust me, ask all the people who sued employment agencies like Office Team because of their highly questionable business practices. In short, Office Team is a highly unethical organization that preys on the unemployed like drug dealers prey on addicts. If you happen to work with this nefarious agency, make sure you're alright with being mistreated and underpaid. However, it's not all bad news: agencies like Office Team have inspired me to practice employment law in order to ensure job seekers are adequately protected from employment agencies such as Office Team. read more

After posting this review, I was contacted by a very nice person from Robert Half which owns The Creative Group. I was told my dissatisfaction would be passed along to senior management who, I was told, would contact me directly. That was one week ago and I have not been contacted by anyone. I still see jobs posted by TCG that I'm well-suited for, but won't waste any more time attempting to contact them. I'd recommend you don't either. They may received kudos from companies, but they do nothing for job seekers. read more

When starting my job search, I started with Robert Half because of reputation as being one of the top placement agencies. This office most definitely does NOT live up to that expectation! I interviewed in January (2010). Half way through my interview, they discovered that I want a full-time position, so another recruiter would need to talk to me, buuuuuuuuuuut none of them were in the office. Why they didn't assign me to when when I first scheduled the interview, I don't know. So I was given the card for the woman I would need to work with, and sent on my way, being told that they were running about 3 weeks from initial interview to placement. I called and e-mailed the lady who's business card I had for two weeks before I got frustrated and called asking to talk to her supervisor. I had to leave a mesage for him too, as he was conveniently out of the office when they found out the reason for my call. Next thing I know, the lady has e-mailed me, saying she's sorry she hasn't replied sooner, but she's been busy. If I want a job, I should just check out their job postings and e-mail her if I see one I'm interested in. Then her boss called and said the same thing to me on the phone. Oooooo.... Kayyyyyyyyy... I diligently looked at the board daily and e -mailed if I thought there was a position I was qualified for. Weeks would go by, then she would reply and say the position was filled. Eventually I received an e-mail that she was being promoted (!?) and my new contact would be a guy E. I tried to set up an appointment to see him, but he didn't have any time in his schedule. A few weeks later, I got a call from a temporary placement agent saying he had seen my resume and wanted to schedule an interview. I went through the whole story with him of how I'd already HAD an interview, and I was looking for direct placement, in the 70-90K range, to which he replied he wasn't the one that needed to be talking to me. I had a second interview with the agency last month, with a nice agent, S. I've e-mailed him several times regarding positions I'm interested in, but have never heard back. This last time I e-mailed him, I received an out of office reply from his co-worker. Still haven't heard back..... I'm really trying to figure out where their good reputation came from, if this is the type of service they give to all their job applicants. On a side note, I've learned from talking with other placement agencies that they will not even consider you for a position if they dont' have a recruiter that's met with you and can vouch for you. How am I supposed to apply for a job if the recruiters keep leaving? I would think their notes are in the system and they can work from that, but that hasn't been the feedback I've gotten lately. It's very dissappointing as a job hunter!!! read more

Started off with a great experience, I went in for an interview and met with Matt H. along with Kevin so they could get to know me. They did a great job on setting up my first interview and I was hired for a good solid 4 weeks. Unfortunately that job did not work out because they wanted me to commit to working every Saturday and Sunday. Recently I have not been able to get a hold of anyone in the office. The receptionist has the same answer for me every time I have called for the passed 2 weeks; "I am sorry I think everyone is currently in a meeting would you like to leave a message"? I am very disappointed, at least have the courtesy to say "sorry we don't want to help you find a job" or "sorry you are not good enough for any of our clients". I was looking froward to working for Office Team but I guess they do not feel the same way. Very unfortunate. read more

I am no longer with Creative Group, but have managed to land another permanent position after this gig. I firmly believe this is the best staffing agency there is in Orange County and trust me I have tested out a handful. I feel that my experience here was worthwhile even if I didn't land a permanent position as I was originally hoping for, but I definitely gained a lot of new skills that I can take elsewhere with me and my last position was a resume booster and I was able to land a permanent position elsewhere on my own. I started my relationship with The Creative Group in Feb/Mar 2016. Reading the other reviews, it seems TCG may be hit or miss, but in my opinion, you will get the results you want (a job!) when you're putting in as much work - if not more - than your recruiter. You can't sit by idly and wait for their phone call... Be proactive. Search jobs on the TCG website, send those over to a recruiter, call the office, ask questions, and if you don't get a response, request another recruiter. Lucky for me - my recruiter from Day 1, Gloria Cordova, is a ROCKSTAR! From the day we met for my intake interview, she honed in on my personality, what type of position I wanted, what I was qualified for (and over-qualified for), and salary ranges (oh, some of the salary ranges... be prepared to tune in with your inner zen). Throughout the year, Gloria and I have experienced hits and misses with interviews and assignments/placements, but I understand it's all a part of the job-searching-and-finding process. It wasn't/isn't always easy - some of the time, it totally sucked - but, with each email and every phone call, Gloria personalized our working relationship. I'm one of dozens of candidates in Gloria's lineup and she still managed to make me feel like a priority. Not to mention, if she wasn't available, one of her colleagues was available to answer questions (*Shout out to other amazing TCGers, Laura Volpe & Becky*). Gloria and her team love what they do and care about their candidates. Being unemployed/underemployed is terrible - especially when you know you're talented, you're enthusiastic about contributing to the world... and you have bills to pay. If you're on the fence about TCG, try them out. Send in your resume and follow-up, seriously... Follow-UP, and Follow-THROUGH! Let them help you, but remember to help yourself, too. In my current position, which I love - though compensation could use a little massaging ;-) - I hope I won't need TCG again for a long while, but if the time comes and I need help finding a new job... My experience with The Creative Group has been less than satisfactory. It was my first time working with an agency so perhaps my expectations were too high. The problem I have with the agency is that I feel they don't have my best interest in mind. They cater a lot more towards the company/organization that's doing the hiring. Which I understand that's where the money is coming from. However I feel a lot like a number rather than an important piece of the equation. They didn't go over my skills much at all when they "interviewed" me and for that reason I don't think they do the best job at placing people. Not the worst experience in the world, but certainly not the best. I'll probably try a different agency next time I'm looking for work. read more

I read all the YELP reviews of the Irvine office of RHT (Robert Half Technologies) before writing my review. I found that many of the 1 star reviews were from people who didn't follow up with their RHT contact and expected a great paying IT job to drop in their laps. I found almost all the 4 & 5 star reviews to be well articulated and very similar to my experience of working with the Irvine Office of RHT for the past year. My RHT senior recruiter Elizabeth Herndon is amazing. She has introduced me to RHT recruiters in Las Vegas and Chicago that lead to IT technician jobs here in Orange County. Not every RHT job for IT technicians pays $20.00 a hour. But when RHT has confidence in your abilities to arrive on time, dress appropriately, work hard and give great customer service they will call you for the higher paying IT technician jobs. :0) read more

Over the years I have gone through a number of placement agencies, with varying degrees of success. It seems that some agencies tend to latch on to a pet designer for any given amount of time, making it tough for others to get a foot in the door. When freelancing, I usually find the most success with personal referrals, and networking among people I know. But when it comes to agencies, I have had the most success with The Creative Group. Kim Alexander has been very helpful within the last year I've dealt with them. And when she wasn't available, Brie Tomaszewski and Elaine Buhler made great efforts to keep me in the loop for possible freelancing gigs. Your mileage may vary depending on your particular skill set and personality. But of all the agencies I've dealt with, The Creative Group has done the most for me. read more

And now that I found a great job without using Office Team, my office decided to use them. We have gone through 4 ADMINS in the last couple of months. I had a great experience with Accountemps. To sum it up, I'll start with the cons. Their was only one con. When I interviewed, I had to pay for parking by the hour. That's all for cons. The pros overwhelm them by a million miles. I got hired for a temp position a month after interviewing. Prior to that I worked a severe minimum wage part time job. The irony; having a finance degree and being poor. The interview process wasn't nerve wrecking at all. It was a comfortable environment. A wonderful person named Kendra Lohr placed me and actively monitored my experience at the firm. She cared genuinely about how the firm treated me and followed up every so often just to ask how it was going. Over 8 months, Accountemps gave me two small but highly appreciated raises. Then the firm hired me permanently! I've been working here for over a year. I received a pay increase upon hiring. Kendra is still a great contact who keeps in touch once in awhile, just to see how I'm doing. My diet is now comprised of more than rice. My office is great. My job is secure. This experience sets my resume up for a real career. I highly recommend this firm. read more

I was interested in a step up from my previous position and I really felt like I could just keep working and leave the job hunt up to them. As I was already working full time , I was very picky and was worried that would cause issues. Going through the second time being ghosted by a Robert Half recruiter At least this time I got a decent reason for the recruiter not making our first phone interview and they rescheduled for 4:00 today. I waited from 3:30-5:00 by my phone. As of 6:30, no phone call, no email, no instant message, nothing. It is as if my a candidates time is not important, or they are just racking up sales points for making contacts. Even if there was a legitimate reason, a quick email or message from a co-worker would suffice. It used to be a great company. I think it's time to block any requests from them. read more

I contacted The Creative Group after having a negative experience working with another recruiting company. I had been out of work since November and decided it was time to look for another recruiter/recruiting company, and I'm so glad I did. I chose The Creative Group because they were recommended to me by a friend who got a job through them, and she only had great things to say. Office teams has been a life saver for me! Coming right out of college I had very little work experience because I played collegiate softball during my 4 years. I knew coming out of college, that it was going to be hard finding a job but with office teams amazing staff I was able to find a job with everything I was looking for!
