This company is lacking training with there recruiters. They have no idea how to follow through. This recruiter, women Malorie Oliveres, is too occupied I guess to deal with the hard work that her job requires sometimes. She hired me to work for this company. Really great opportunity. Told me I had it. I completed so much paperwork. Gave these people ALL my personal information. To be told "we hired you but we have to wait for your background check to come back through First Advantage". 14 days later she tells me "sorry the company went with somebody else because your background check is taking too long". And no s*** lady I've sent chats everyday for the last 8 days to find out the status of my check. She did not follow up with them one time... So of course they are going to go with somebody else. I had a background check ran twice this year it only took 3 days and I have nothing on my background. So makes me think First Advantage is a fraudulent sorry excuse for a screening company right away. She did not even think twice about it and just sent me a "I'm sorry e-mail". Robert Half unprofessional and gives half ass service. I'll never deal with them again. I still have not received my background check. I'm going to report First Advantage any way I can. read more

I called to introduce myself and talk with a representative from Half's agency and was stonewalled by their operator. She insisted I send over my resume and start the application process before affording me the opportunity to interview them. She continued with, "That's not our procedure." I explained I wasn't ready to move forward with their procedure and I was looking to share a call, introduce myself, ask questions and more. I will not be using this agency as their customer service is nonexistent . This is the same type of arrogance the DMV demonstrates as they know they're in a position to be helpful. A little confused on what the "recruiters" do all day here. I have been given the run around multiple times and left messages for more than 4 different people due to them all saying they aren't the right one to talk to based off my background. They are always "on the phone" so they can't take a direct call so I end up leaving voicemail after voicemail with no call back. One time I got an email from someone about a job opening and I sent multiple emails and called and I was ghosted. Are these jobs real? Are you actually trying to help people get jobs? It's really sad and frustrating the way that they treat their customers. read more

6 months ago my position was being eliminated. My employer reached out their contact, Matt, at Robert Half so I wasn't alone in my job search. After 1 or 2 meetings, Matt suddenly said I would be meeting with Sharon. At my first meeting with her she immediately asked what role I needed help filling. Oh, guess Matt didn't give her any information when he passed me off. I explained the situation, she asked me what I was interested in, told me to send her my resume, and if I ever needed any roles filled in the future (I was in HR) to remember them. In almost 7 months the only follow up or communication I ever received was a couple random job opportunities for Accounting positions. Again, HR - no Finance experience. The other day I decided to finally reach out to Sharon and say hey, I never heard back from you after I was passed off and all I'm getting are these Accounting opportunities and that's not even my experience we talked about. She responded that she'd removed me and reach out if I ever need anything. Well yes, actually, Sharon. I'd still really like to look for a recruiter to work with because I felt pretty tossed aside and I'm still on the hunt for a full time job. I asked her if she could refer me to anyone. Her response: "Sorry you feel that way. You're welcome to call an office close to you and go from there. Best Wishes". Money hungry, non-caring individuals. Do you even care how many people have lost their jobs recently? That there's 700 applicants to each job posted on LinkedIn? Nope, because your selfish self is taken care of and getting paid. She didn't tell me to take a hike, but you know she's phrasing the message in the most CYA way possible of saying "don't care". Way to represent, Robert Half! No Sharon, I will not keep the team in mind for future positions when I get my next job in HR. read more

I had better things to say about this company pre-COVID. They are unresponsive and unreliable.

Beware ...horrible for employers looking for perm replacements. Lesson learned...hired a perm accountant who supposedly had been vetted (this is what we paid the 39k referral fee for) who turned out to have no clue what they were doing and had the work ethic of a slug. Clearly they never vetted the person...despite numerous conversations about what we were looking for ...and dumped them off on us just so they could secure the referral fee. Ended up closing the entire department because this person made such a mess of it. On top of that, they were aware that we were in a very sensitive position having recently lost our prior controller, so it was bad enough without being duped for a referral fee for someone who made it far worse. We were presented with an individual as a viable and qualified candidate and it was only months later, when the damage was done, that we were able to discover the ineptitude of the hire and the lemon we paid the referral fee for (they have a 90 day refund policy where after each month you lose 1/3 if your fee, so after three months it's all gone....and some positions, like this one, require a much longer period to determine if the hire knows what they are doing. Robert Half of course knows this which is why the return period is so short). Of course they didn't offer any form of refund of the referral fee. We are currently exploring legal action as a result of what at the very least was a lack of reasonable efforts (if any) in vetting on their part, for which we paid the $39,000. read more

It's all a numbers game to them, then the recruiter for mad at me for following up them and sends me a nasty snarky message via LinkedIn and blocks me via LinkedIn. It is easy to get discouraged when looking for new employment, especially in the creative industry. It's easy to get overlooked, because honestly there are plenty of fish in the sea. I worked with the TGC since 2014 on and off. I've only been placed with one temp job, and one permanent role as of recently. I found that most agents tended to be flaky and inconsistent. I could never gauge where I stood with opportunities they presented to me. However, Lauren Meyers was the exception. Although most opportunities didn't work out, she kept in touch and helped me land my most recent permanent role. I'd say the reviews you see are more of a reflection on the agents people have worked with. If I rated all the agents that I've worked with at TCG, it'd be anywhere between 1 and 4 stars. However, I recommend their services and I'd use them again if needed. PROS: - High quality roles and opportunities - Variety of job types (contract, part time, full, etc) - Paid weekly - Have an awesome salary guide - Simple portal for managing timesheet and docs CONS - Handful of flaky, inconsistent agents - Not many roles listed on online job portal - Uncertain status of roles you've been submitted for I hope this helps. read more

9-12-19 My experience with this company. They called me since I applied for a long term temp job. All they asked is are you working right now. I said yes, they said we only work with unemployed and then did not give me a chance to tell them why I applied to a temp job. She then hung up on me after saying I'll call you if we get temp to hire. I doubt this company gets temp to hire when they have recruiters like that. No people skills or even listening skills. If she sould of given me a chance she would of known I will be unemployed soon. Update as of 9-19-19 Spoke with the company since they replied to my review. I spoke with the manager there and he spoke with me about what happened and is now looking for opportunities for me. We will see how everything goes from here. Slightly better view of the company but they still should train their recruiters to ask why your looking for a job instead of saying well your not unemployed we will keep you in mind. Update 10-3 Have not heard anything from them after meeting with them. Sent an email to the recruiter wondering what happened with the job he sent me. So far have not heard anything. This was my first time being contacted by an staffing agency so I was a bit skeptical at first. Michelle gave me a call and we had a long conversation about what type of position I was looking for, my previous employment history, and salary to get a better idea of how she could match me to opportunities. She called me about once a week (if not more) to follow up with me and present me with new job opportunities but I felt none was what I was looking for. Over Promises and Under Delivers I initially reached out to Maria Spears at The Creative Group on Jan 1st after seeing her post on LinkedIn about a Salaried Professionals Program (SPP) with The Creative Group. Her post said that they were looking for people looking for Front End Developer and UX Design positions, which I was, so I emailed her. She got back to me the next day and asked me to send her a copy of my resume and a link to my portfolio and she scheduled a call with me for that same day and we talked more about the program. After the call, she emailed me right after scheduling a FaceTime meeting for the next day. After the FaceTime, she emailed me right after and scheduled an in-person interview for a few days later on Jan 7th. Everything was going well so far. The program sounded great and I was looking forward to the interview. During the interview, she painted the perfect picture. Her and her team were going to work diligently to find me a job right away and she was going to be in constant communication with me (that last part is important in my review). She made it sound like it was the perfect opportunity and she was going to be with me through everything and make me a priority. At the end, there were no positions open right then so she was going to check to see if they had any bench positions open and get back to me within a couple days. So far so good. Four days go by and I haven't heard anything, so I reach out to her. She gets back to me letting me know they're only hiring by assignment for the next few months, so they will continue to look for open roles for me and run them by me and she said she would follow up the next week. I never heard from her again. I sent her a position I found on my own a week after and she never responded. I tried emailing her multiple times after that and she never once responded. I tried reaching out on LinkenIn as well and she ignored me there as well. She is the definition of over promises and under delivers. It's one thing not to have anything open right now, but to completely blow me off after basically offering me everything I've been looking for and telling me you'd be in constant communication with me? All lies. Do not work with her or anyone at this company. They are so unreliable and you will be very disappointed. read more

She tried to connect me with an opportunity before the holidays, and due to a vacation of mine, it did not work out. My experience with Robert Half and The Creative Group (TCG) in Irvine was excellent! I have referred several colleagues and friends to them for years, and my recent experience was so good I had to put in a review. When I began to look for a new opportunity in May 2019, I contacted TCG and had a quick phone interview with Lauren Meyers. Because I had worked with TCG in the past, after a quick phone interview to catch up and verify my experience I was back on the market. Within a couple of weeks, I got a phone call from Becky Cotes who let me know of a position that could be a great fit for me - a temp-to-hire role where I could try out the company and they could give me a test drive. Becky even suggested I increase my (already increased) desired pay, just to see if we could get me a little more money each week (+$1/hr). Because it was temp-to-hire, I started the next business day and got right to work. Well, it worked out great. Lucky for me the position was a perfect fit and the team was awesome. Great experience with Elaine B.! This was my first contract job living in California. Elaine Buhler (TCG in Irvine) kept me well-informed about the process after submitting me for this job (retouching role). She was courteous, professional, and fast with her responses to my questions. It was nice to get a job that paid what I was asking. I don't have any experience in dealing with recruiters, so I'm hoping TCG will have me on another contract shortly after this one ends. There were quite a lot of emails immediately after I started the job - mostly employment forms attached from Robert Half and I'm guessing this was because it was my first job with them. It was all smooth sailing after these were completed. I believe in honest feedback and the only constructive thing that I can think of is that the job started the day after I got the call and this seems to happen a lot with recruiters in LA. I also realize that this might be out of TCG's hands, but it would be awesome to have a bit more notice. I think the only other feedback I have would be with the employer (who was still awesome), so I'll leave it out of this review. Some may have had bad experiences, but i highly recommend this agency for any career search in terms of Marketing and Design. Gloria Cordova was my representative helping me out since the beginning, and she'd landed me 2 pretty great companies: Too Faced Cosmetics (contracted freelance) and Avery Products (hired me as a FT Packaging Graphic Designer), straight out of college. All staff members that I came across with were all very professional and reliable. I have recommended this agency to my friends who are in need of help as well.
