I would like to share my experience at Accounttemps Fremont. I had been out of work for months and frankly, I had lost some of my self-confidence. During my month's long employment search I had registered with dozens of internet employment sites, applied for hundreds of positions on line, and was only contacted once for an interview. Although I felt the interview went well, the interviewer contacted me a week and a half later to inform me they had chosen another candidate with more relevant experience. The whole process left me slightly discouraged. I felt the internet job search was just not working for me.
I decided to contact the local staffing agencies; possibly one of those agencies would have an opportunity for me. Armed with my resume, I drove to 6 local staffing agencies and distributed my resume. I followed up with phone calls, left messages and waited for replies. A few weeks later I received a reply from Accountemps Fremont. Out of the 6 agencies I contacted, Accountemps was the only one that followed up with me.
They scheduled me an interview, provided their web address (for registration purposes) and three days later I walked in to Accountemps. During the interview, the recruiter, Meryl, asked questions relating to my work experiences as she reviewed my vague resume in detail. She continually prodded me, taking notes from my words, demonstrating to me just how highly skilled she is as a recruiter, in order to determine exactly what relevant experience I had. During that thirty five to forty minute interview, I began to sense my self-confidence starting to seep back in. It was amazing. Not only did I feel I might actually have a chance to gain employment through the agency, as I left there I felt I was walking a little taller than when I first stepped through their doors. The fact is Meryl showed me such respect; acknowledging my skills and abilities, that I immediately gained a new perspective on my employment search. By simply recognizing my skills and abilities, she boosted my self-confidence and lifted my spirits. I left the office that day feeling positive I would certainly receive an employment offer.
Moreover, shortly after I did! Although I did not receive the actual job offer for a few weeks, Meryl and the staff at Accountemps kept in touch with me during the entire process. They notified me of a possible assignment that seemed to be a perfect fit. The employer was nearby, and looking for someone with the exact type of experience I had. They were going to present me to their client and get back to me. The next few days seemed to drag by, while I waited for that call.
The following week I received a call from Chris, the manager at Accounttemps Fremont. He informed me they had presented me to their client, informed me of the location of the position, (only 3.16 miles from my home) and asked if I was still interested in the position. Of course I was! The next few days flew by! I contacted their client directly, discussed the position and my relevant experience with their client on the telephone, it seemed to be a perfect fit for me! I began working the next Monday. This coming Monday starts my 5th week. The position, a contract assignment, will last 6 to 9 months. . I am close to home, love what I am doing and I owe it all to Accountemps! The staff at Accountemps provided excellent Customer Service and follow-ups. They are amazing. I highly recommend them! read more
