When I first joined Canvas InfoTech, I viewed it with cautious optimism. Naturally, of course, although I was hearing great things about it, I needed to experience it for myself to truly know how effective they were. I had two previous job in the IT field, but not on the technical side, but in Inside Sales, recruiting and marketing. Many months prior to leaving my previous job in December, I went to another local IT placement company for BA training with disappointing results. This other IT company charged me $900 for training, provided disorganized mostly online sessions with constantly changing dates, and did next nothing to follow up with the students after training ended. As you can see I have a fairly good idea of how IT consulting companies work before joining Canvas. The first thing that impressed me was that Canvas did not charge for their training. Second, unlike the previous company I tried out, Canvas did training 5 days a week at fixed times. They confidently stated that they guarantee job placement within 6 months of joining as long as you, the candidate, aggressively studies the material and cooperates sincerely with the marketing team. Canvas stated that candidates get placed in jobs within 2 months after training ends, on average. With these statistics I predicted I may potentially get placed after 30 days of marketing. But reality, I received a job placement just 4 days after training ended, after only 19 submissions, on my first end client interview! Canvas provides training in BA/QA. Alok Bhatia classes are one of the best especially for people from non IT Background. Canvas is serious about their trainings. It is like a mini university. We even have a graduation party at the end of our Batch. If you join Canvas, lemme tell you that next six weeks will be really intense .!! They have plenty of contacts in the Bay area and we get a lot of interview calls from the fourth week of training. I have seen lots of hardworking students getting placed even before the batch got completed. True Some people might not get placed even 3 months after completing training. Sometimes we could be really unlucky. I have seen Alok Bhatia and marketing teams " Yeh, they have three different marketing team" work so hard to get them placed. They arrange for so many interview calls and it will be just a matter of time before we get a project. I must admit i was little lucky to get a project before my training got completed. All three classes had passionate and insightful instructors who brought a world of experience and truly made learning fun again. This is probably my favorite training and certifications center. I wish I could give more than 5 stars . I just finished the SAFe Agilist training from Canvas Infotech. 2 days of intense classes working shoulder to shoulder with senior managers in the Silicon Valley firms. I had taken my CSM classes elsewhere and I am very well impressed with the way Canvas holds these training sessions !! The staff is so very polite and helpful. They have everything ready for you and all you have to do is to take yourself to the classroom on time. They provide full meals and snacks and fruits and anything to keep you fully charged. The instructor was awesome, he gave so many examples from real world scenarios and made the class easily absorbable. There's something with Canvas in the way they choose the instructors and materials. They very closely monitor the feedback from the trainees and constantly look forward to fine tune the classes to provide the best service.. Very convenient location and comfortable seating with enough ports to charge the laptop/ phones. Overall great place to learn and network with other awesome IT folks. Fantastic Training! I was hesitant in joining when I first heard about their training because of the bad reviews I read But after sitting in during the orientation and the first week of the class, I really felt this was the course for me. The instructor is very thorough and very patient! I now work for a huge company and get paid double what I was getting before. I'm pretty much set for life with the knowledge I was given, after my long term project ends I can confidently find another. I noticed the classmates of mine that were slackers/ did not work hard, had a difficult time finding a job, surprisingly, and would repeatedly argue and complain that they were not getting a job (which is where I believe most of the bad reviews were coming from, not sure). I had a wonderful experience here and I can't imagine anyone serious about getting a job would have such a difficult time. So I believe if you are looking to be spoon feed this is not the career training for you as some mistakenly expected. I came to Canvas recently in 2011 and with a little hope of getting placed in next few months like other candidates. Training got over in 6 weeks with lots and lots of course content provided by Alok. My job was to study and work hard. Everyday's "Happening Right Now" sessions were overwhelming and gave me a strong compelling motive to work hard. I was completely TRANSFORMED after the course was over from a very minor and rusty technical background to a person who can answer an interviewer's questions from SQL to QTP, from UNIX to Agile. What else I could ask for? About the placement, I had some visa issues which were taken care by Godhuli and Alok immediately after the training. The backoffice people are available round the clock based on your requirements. A wonderful and proactive staff. Flood of job positions everyday in the campus. Very healthy environment in terms of competition, coaching, mentoring, mock interviews and positions. Every batch they place 7-8 candidates out of 10. Well, sorry canvas for giving you the one star review, unfortunately Yelp doesn't give the option of negative star reviews. I was contacted by the recruiter and said she found my resume from indeed. I had 6 months of experience in QA field in one of the company in Seattle & i was really craving for the proper professional guidance. So i joined this place.Recruiter asked me to notarize the one year contract to work with them after completing the training. I didn't had a job and they were proving me an attractive package so i got temped & took the training. The training was like a 15$ course from Udemy / Lynda or infiniteskills. But anyways the only thing matter is Placement. One thing that really shocked me was that i got 8 years of FAKE experience in resume & they didn't mentioned about my university program in resume. I really got scared. I always wanted to find a good job but NOT by faking others. It's completely unethical. Other shocking thing i came across was if student is not able to crack interview, then they have other senior person to give interview instead of student (through Skype). Isn't it a SCAM ? read more
