Received one of the sloppiest painful massage from this practitioner. During the session he didn't once ask me how the pressure was. My muscles remained in a constricted/guarded state during majority of the massage due to the pressure being too deep. Worked my abdominal area which felt more like he was trying to rupture my spleen. Yes, I should have said something however was trying my best to trust the process. Left feeling like someone punched me in the gut. Received absolutely no relief from the tension that I initially came in with and was left with only more pain. Wouldn't recommend this therapist to anyone. read more

I am late giving Robert his much-deserved review. I am grateful that for the last 4 years, Robert has been training me weekly in Thai Mat bodywork. I have had the honor of receiving many hours of work from him and there is no other work, therapist, or instructor like him. He is AMAZING. The way he teaches, speaks, explains, & provides his education is clear, concise, and easy to understand. Robert is teaching a different way to approach client's pain by using your body weight, proper body mechanics, and unleashing all of your God given tools to apply the work as the client needs/wants. I have been in multiple rear-end car accidents and this work was the only work that has ever FULLY relieved my neck pain. What started off as a resolution for my arm pain from giving massage, ended in an obsession to receive the work. I now only receive Thai mat bodywork, as it gives me much longer pain relief plus, I feel better knowing my therapist isn't injuring themselves working on me. This style of work and his training has changed my life. I now do not experience pain doing my job, which consists of 2-4 hour long sessions. Also, I am now able to help my clients get out of pain for longer, to receive the pressure they desire, effortlessly. If you have been considering training with Robert, pull the trigger. Robert used a technique on me he was talking about calling a Belly Reboot. A little background- I have INSANELY painful periods. I cannot go on hormonal birth control to make them hurt less, so most doctors just tell me that it sucks to be me, and I take enough ibuprofen each month that it causes a little bit of liver damage, but it's the only way to survive and be able to walk at the same time. I don't know what magical wizard skills Robert has, but the day after the belly reboot was day two of my cycle, and instead of being curled up in bed, on ibuprofen with a hot pad (still in nauseating pain), I had a couple of twinges. The next day was completely pain free, I thought I'd stopped early because nothing hurt or felt bad at all. I haven't had a single ibuprofen since the reboot. Normally I'm taking at least four 200 mg tabs every 3-4 hours, and waking up in pain several times a night to take more. I've slept through the night!!! Every night!!! This NEVER happens during my cycle. It's been amazing. AMAZING. If you have horrible, painful cramps, ask Robert for a reboot. Seriously, I'm in complete shock at how much I DON'T hurt. I've tried everything- yoga, stretching, hot rock massage, handfuls of pills, saunas, meditation, dozens of doctors visits, you name it. The reboot works better than anything else I've tried. I'm still in shock that I'm not in pain. This is the first time in 20 years I haven't been in hurting for a solid week out of the month. I didn't know it was possible. read more

I've struggled with back pain since I was 12 years old. I've been to at least 100 chiropractors, physical therapists, and doctors (including an orthopedic surgeon). I figured I just couldn't really get relief for more than a day or 2. Robert has helped me more than all of those other people compared. If I had to guess what the main reason for that is, it would probably be because what he does is so tailored to the individual and he is not just practicing some cookie cutter massage. Best massage I've ever received! I first met Robert when he came to the massage school I attended. His passion for helping others and his great personality made me want to find out more about what he does. I took his Intro to Thai Massage class to learn more. The class was amazing! He keeps the class size small and helps you along the way with one-on-one guidance and includes an amazing workbook to take home and practice what you learn. He also holds shorter 2 hour mini-classes that cover a ton of interesting topics for both massage therapists and Thai Massage enthusiasts alike. What I love about his teaching is that the classes aren't just for massage therapists, they're for anyone who wants to learn more about Thai Massage or just how to make themselves feel better. I would highly recommend checking out his classes- even if you've never had a Thai Massage before. Robert is super-friendly and no one feels like a stranger when they walk into his studio. Now... As for his Jedi level massage skills: I've been getting regular massages for well over a decade. Most have been for pain relief and have fallen WAY short of my expectations. Robert is one the few therapists that I have been to that I feel have actually put my specific needs first in planning and performing a session. As a massage therapist myself, I know it's easy to get stuck in a rut and let your mind wander from your top priority- the client; but with Robert, you can really feel through the entire session that he's focusing his whole self on you and your treatment. Just had my first Thai massage from Robert, and it was wonderful. I spend tons of time sitting at a computer, so I constantly have stiffness in my back, neck, and right arm. His bodywork took a full two hours, and it was a mix of pleasure and pain -- but the pain only proved to me just how tight and contracted my muscles are, and how badly I needed this! The Thai massage was not your standard relaxing table massage - he really isolated trouble areas and worked them hard, until the muscles started moving in the ways they were supposed to. I feel like I've actually had reparative work done on my body, as opposed to just getting a massage that feels good for a few hours. Robert is also very professional and clearly comfortable with his work, which helped it not feel awkward being pulled and pushed and tugged for two straight hours. I've been seeing Robert for years, and now don't like to see anyone else. Thai massage is just more therapeutic than any other type of massage I've ever had. It's particularly good for athletes and dancers. Being more flexible than your average male, often times passive stretching doesn't do much for me, but when I work with Robert he takes me to the edge of my flexibility. This always provides me with greater healing that lasts much longer than any body work I've ever had. I have an old back injury from martial arts and I have to stay pretty active to keep the muscles holding everything in place. Sometimes I overdo it and can be too sore to train for a few days. Regular sessions from Robert have totally changed that and allow me to stay very active. If you push yourself physically, then you must treat your body work from Robert. Robert is great! I feel like I have so many great things to say about this guy and I never met him in person. He's generous and one of the most motivating instructors I've had since graduating from massage school 13 years ago. I discovered Robert via another therapist that lives in Baton Rouge. She forwarded me some information about a free Carpal Tunnel CEU course he was offering online during quarantine, which was definitely something I needed since we were all out of work and my massage license was about to expire. What hooked me was Robert's teaching style. I have experienced various mediums of Thai massage coursework; I took a live Thai I weekend course in Boston, MA in 2012, a live Thai Foot Massage Course in Asheville, NC in 2015, as well as three DVD courses (Thai on the table, Swe-Thai, and Thai Foot Massage) through a woman based out of Deerfield Beach, FL in 2013. All of this education was great but it left me wanting more. This is not the case when you take a course with Robert. He's encouraging in the sense that he wants his students to grow in their own individual practice. A therapist can feel confident incorporating his teaching style and techniques into their current massage routine either on the table or the mat. He also encourages students to build on their own journeys as an entrepreneur. It is definitely the kick in the a@@ I needed to take my practice to the next level and my clients definitely are happier with the results! After a Thai massage session, I felt so energized and had a wonderful feeling of well being the next day. It's incredible how simple stretches and compression are so effective. Effleurage and deep tissue can do a lot, but adding Thai massage is powerful. Robert's videos are straight to the point. All of the moves have been effective and feel great. Camera shots have a good view of the the techniques being done. He also adds explanations of body mechanics, what to to feel and what to expect when executing the moves. Love these videos! read more

I came home from my (3 hour!) session with Robert yesterday and raved to my husband for about 30 minutes on how awesome his take on thai massage is. I actually missed a turn on my way home too, all giddy on massage high as I was! I'm a practicing LMT myself, so from that point of view his technique is fascinating to experience. There were about 10 moments in my session where I felt like "dude, that right there, THATS what i've been trying to get to!" From a client point of view, I couldn't be happier with how I feel after. I've had low back issues for over 10 years, and after having corrective ankle surgery last year, it just made all the low back/hip stuff even worse. I love that Robert works so slow and takes his time waiting for muscles to relax. He's the only therapist in my memory who's ever worked on my IT bands directly that didn't hurt me or tell me to just suck it up. I felt like he listened to what my body was ready to release and didn't force it beyond it's limits. I'm just beyond impressed, and my body is definitely thanking me right now. No pain at all in that whole low back mess, i'm not even sore like I thought I would be on a few spots. Robert's approach is professional and personable, he asked good questions during my intake and i felt like he understood what was hurting and gave me well explained expectations to what we could fix in one session. I saw Robert under "emergency circumstances." For the first time in my life, I was having sciatica problems. I had already given it 2 weeks of no physical activity in hopes that the pain would go away on it's own, but as a big retreat was nearing 2 days away, and the pain was not, I decided I needed to be more proactive. I contacted Robert the day before leaving for out of town in desperation to get my body in a better place. He was able to fit me in at the last minute (and even on a day that he normally doesn't work). I was so thankful. His massage room was pleasant. Nice and big with lots of sunshine and a heated and comfortable large mattress pad on the ground. As he started to work on me, he got all the major areas of pain. He even worked on my abdominal region which strangely enough caused sensations in my problem areas too. Who ever would have known! I could tell he really cared about my health and well being as he worked on me for twice as long without any additional charge, just to make sure I was OK for my upcoming retreat. I walked out of his studio for the first time in awhile without pain and it didn't come back again! His bodywork has been able to make me realize that this is worth doing on a regular basis. He has such immense knowledge of the body and really knows what he is doing. I had called at least a half a dozen body workers, and I chose Robert because he seemed to be the most expert.
